@@dankim5885 So to clarify, this happens only after you saved ONCE, and onwards. So you can import builds into D2R you make new with hero editor, and it works just fine, but once you boot up/save the file/change it in D2R, and then try to open the file again in hero editor, it does not work. So say your little funny offline character, you can't edit him with hero editor, you would haft to re-make him in D2R from fresh :)

You cant create a character at all from your game. you have to create a character from the hero Editor instead. on the bottom, you have to click and a new window will pop up. From here, click on the bottom tab and you have to create it by clicking on the button under CREATE NEW CHARACTER Once you create it, you must make every adjustments and add on before you save on the editor. once you save, you have to find where the file was saved to, cut the file and paste it on your diablo 2 save file location. Than you are able to play it but you can never edit it again. hope that helps noobs like me who doesnt know how to use to program as well.
@@dankim5885 Ah thats funny, had never done it that way before, I always just used the item packs profiles as I showed in the video :) The one I got was just a typical funny open.battle.net hacked build. I remember fooling around with that a bit back in the early 2000's when I was ever so young learning the game hehe :)
My friend was able to copy the game files and put it onto a flash drive, making the game playable on any PC with a USB slot. I also noticed he was able to edit the items in the stash chest, or even change the stats or abilities of the characters themselves. Such as, giving yourself extra strength or increasing your dexterity, just by changing a few things in the editing process.
As I talk about in the video you can't edit already once-saved files :) Just start from fresh and dont save it in-game, or you can just make it on your old D2 copy, its easier anyway.
We'll I think its a great tool to quickly test stuff :) Atm Im testing what is the best sorceress budget/MF build, was likely gonna be the next video upload. Saves me a lot of time and tokens to reset.
110% Agree :P. I've known how to hero edit for 20 years but - it definitely kills regular game play. Nothing else to do though if servers are down 100% of the time. :(
hi i download this editor for reviev my dead hardcore character but starting why show a editor the my diablo 2 not install and not find directory? diablo 2 complet edition i use 1.14d
now that ive experienced having endless space (and being able to share it between characters) i could never go back to how the chest originally worked. it opens the game up so much being able to save whatever you want. for example, facing someone that does a lot of poison damage but your gear isnt helping, throw on a specific ring or charm just for that boss. nearly impossible to do with the space originally given.

any idea how i could make a hammer that looks like the horadric malus but doesnt act like the horadric malus? meaning it doesnt activate the charsi quest and hopefully be transferable with the resurrected shared stash. ive been trying to figure it out but i always goes back to being a quest item when i load the game.
is there a way to change class items restrictions so everyone can wear them? I know there is a way b.c i spawned an assassin with my barb and she was wearing a barb helm.

Ok, the d2i extension for all item packs couldnt be found in hero editor, can they be renamed to d2s or will that conflict?

I have a hunch that blizzard will add an internal hero editor for offline play on D2R similar to how Warcraft have a hero/map editor.

u can make one charm that have 1000 exp and 10000 unique drop. just one charm its cool for fun farming and learning

Most mods won't allow you to have high MF. It's capped at 779 BoCL & 155% max anyway.

As shown at the end of the video, you can just transfer your profiles between old and new D2 :)

No need. You can manually move the game files from d2 to d2r.

Unfortunately no. The hero editor is for the old program. The new game files can go backwards

We'll, not sure what issue you have. You cant find your D2 save folder or? Just open files from that with hero editor.

Oh its the Hero Editor? It wont let you modify your online D2R ctlo files unfortunately. Only offline and .d2s 😞
lol obviosly. Online files are saved server side so kinda difficult. Plus if its able to do that, its technically cheating
