    The biggest muscle in Brian’s body is his heart. I think that is why he throws up so much...no room for his stomach.

    I have poor lungs and asthma. It's been extremely cold here in Michigan the last couple of days. My lungs can't tolerate the cold air and going to the gym yesterday even wearing a face mask almost put me into an attack and i couldn't breathe very well the rest of the day.
    I was going to skip the gym today because i couldn't risk the cold air walking the distance in the cold to get inside.
    You inspired me to make it work and not let my health problems stop me. I got someone to drop me off at the door so I wouldn't get floored breathing in the air.
    So because of you, i found a way to not get stopped due to my health problems. Thank you.

    Yesterday as I approached my fourth and fifth sets of deadlifts and contemplated taking some weight off, I thought about Brian shouting "MAKE A DECISION!" and I got them done. Today when I was not feeling excited about going to the gym because my back was sore, I thought about Brian busting his ass every day even thought he's got those awful stomach problems, so I got in gear and got it done. There's nothing else I can say.

    Love the train to be dangerous series, especially since athleticism is not the most popular idea online compared to just looking good. Would you ever consider doing a weekly conditioning challenge? I think that could be a cool way to involve the community and expand some conditioning ideas to the people (me) that enjoy pushing through the suffering. Since I’ve been following you I’ve massively increased my power and endurance. Keep up the great work!

    Just wondering, does it really make much of a difference whether you use barbells or dumbbells for the pressing exercises if the effort exerted is the same?

    • @joshjohnston7388
      @joshjohnston7388 5 років тому +1

      Can't speak for anyone else, but I do both. A lot of my strategy is from Brian's templates. So if it a "heavy" bench or ohp day, I'm doing db presses for volume. If it's a lighter/volume day for the main press, I'm going heavy for low reps with the dbs. That way, I get the rom benefits of the dbs and the bigger weights that are possible with a barbell.
      Here's the thing... if your metric for progress is the barbell bench press, then you can't skip it. If that number on that lift doesn't matter, then work is work and it doesn't matter.

    • @BrianAlsruheOfficial
      @BrianAlsruheOfficial  5 років тому +2

      yes man, you will always be able to press more with a barbell because of stabilization. Also, the day will come when the dumbbells will not be heavy enough. 300lbs is not an unattainable bench goal brother.
