    That stuff is the real deal. I hit the bell because no one else is showing anything like this. I am sick of predator engine run of the mill junk, this is awesome. This channel should explode with subs if you keep this up.

    Excellent job. I’m 57 years old and have been building/rebuilding engines since I was 12 years old, learned from my Pop. I love 2 strokes, they are the way to go for power power power! It’s too bad you younger guys missed the 2 stroke street bikes and 250/500 MotoGP days. Can’t wait to see this thing run!

    That engine is so similar to my 96 kdx200 engine. I actually really enjoyed rebuilding my motor i was just nervous something would go wrong and it wouldn't run. First time rebuilding a 2 stroke bike motor so i had some concerns but she runs and she runs good. Definitely rebuild your motors or at least try, if vasily and I can rebuild a motor you can too. Dont be one of the people that blow a motor up and then just trash a perfectly good candidate for a nice rebuild.

    If you were planning on painting it, a rougher surface finish on the aluminum and some etching primer would have been the way to go. That paint will flake off unfortunately over time. Looks good though! And definitely torque all the other bolts to spec, including the flywheel nut. Get yourself a strap wrench to hold it in place.

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  5 років тому +2

      Thank you! I did have that tool, It just did not fit into the clutch holes. and the paint, I just want a little protection from corrosion and rain. But next time I will use etch primer

    I would recommend when hammering metal against another hard metal like when your setting your bearings to use a ball peen or mini sledge. A regular claw hammer is not designed to hit against other solid or hard metal and the head could chip or break possibly causing you or the project damage. A mini sledge or ball peen are designed to hit other metal and hard objects and are much less likely to cause problems. Great job on the engine looks like a lot of time and effort was put into this. Loved the content

  • @OrignalRecipe92

    Next time you have the top end off, you should try to get your jug ported. You can also drop the height on your head to tighten up the squish, which increases your compression ratio. This is all stuff you can learn on the forums. Great editing skills man. I am excited to see this in a shifter kart.

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  5 років тому

      Thank you! I might have to do that in the future. What if I stack base gaskets, and lower all the ports by the amount raised?

    • @OrignalRecipe92
      @OrignalRecipe92 5 років тому

      @@VasilyBuilds You can't lower your intake and exhaust ports if you're increasing the thickness of the base gaskets. That will drop your compression further and change your timing. Adding gaskets to the base increases the volume of the combustion chamber as the stroke still remains the same, but your'e trying to compress the same air/fuel charge in a larger area.
      Typically material is removed from the base of the cylinder in a lathe as an additional change to custom port heights. The combination of these two change your intake and exhaust timing.
      Your squish is the distance from the top of the piston at tdc to the top of the combustion chamber. If you remove material from the top of the cylinder head, that will drop your bowl volume, and you're compressing the same fuel/air ration in a smaller space, upping your compression ratio.
      When people remove too much material in an attempt to change intake and exhaust timing they will use thicker gaskets to compensate for removing too much material, be it in the port heights or removing too much from the base of the jug.

  • @nate.1623
    @nate.1623 5 років тому +4

    hey my guy, wise are some of the nicest pistons, but since they are forged and the cylinder is cast, the piston will be looser in the cylinder for longer before its warmed up, long story short take about 5-7 min, just warming it up, low revs 1/4
