  • Mistakes happen to the best of us, and often we run into them and freak out. But this one was pretty hilarious so stay tuned! I split the cases on my 99 kx 250 searching for the problem. I install a muffler, wing, and modify my pipe!

      On Yamaha race karts they have different lengths of pipe to put between the exhaust port and expansion chamber for different back pressure. This may or may not help you. Good luck with it.

    Stupid mistakes make you smarter so no problems there. You are a talented young man and I love that you do the work yourself. I was like that when i was your age also. I am 41 and I love it when young people DIY like a pro. Kudos.

    You’re very talented for your age. I started out the same way and it led me to a career of being an ASE certified master mechanic. It’s taken a toll on my body but paid the bills very well over the years! Keep up the good work bud. And don’t beat yourself up over the mistake. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the simple things.

    You do know that cutting the stingerpipe changes the engines performance right ? - cool build btw

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  5 років тому +1

      The length of the silencer core does in effect add more than its actual measured length to the stinger. Stinger length is one of the least important aspects of the two stroke exhaust. Stinger inside diamter is one of the more important things though.

  • @ekarchery60x27
    @ekarchery60x27 5 років тому

    Caster 927 separates from fuel after 20-24 hours of not being moved or “sloshed” around. So remember to always shake the kart really good to re mix the oil 👍🏻

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  5 років тому

      Good info! Never knew that, is this true with other oils?

    • @ekarchery60x27
      @ekarchery60x27 5 років тому

      Vasily Custom Builds to my knowledge no. Caster is a very clean burning oil. But I quit running it for that reason. The oil will settle at the bottom of the tank and if you don’t mix it before you start the engine you could lean it out. I switched to klots supertechnoplate and have a jug that’s been mixed for 6+ months and hasn’t separated.

    • @VasilyBuilds
      @VasilyBuilds  5 років тому +1

      I don't like that it's not died. Might have to switch to klotz

    • @ekarchery60x27
      @ekarchery60x27 5 років тому

      Vasily Custom Builds that’s just what I’ve had the best luck with. I’ve ran it in anything from a 100cc kids bike to my 300 woods bike. Just play around the the ratio of your mix till you get it running super clean. My my 250 track bike I mix 40:1. Just seen the oil and thought I’d see if you knew to shake it before you ride! If you’re ever in Kentucky hit me up I’ll take you riding

    Nice build but racing shifter carts have front brakes for a reason. One on back axle is rather unsafe, especialy a mechanical one

  • @RGMgarage
    @RGMgarage 5 років тому

    Great build mate but may a say you are making the same mistakes again. As you stated in the beginning of the video shorties kill the top speed. That goes for both, expansion chamber and muffler. By shortening the exhaust you will decrease top speed. I would say look into mount the muffle sideways by adding a curve the the exhaust.
