So damn good! They flew under my radar until recently when “the algorithm” brought them into focus. Finding a gem like this brings my old soul back 40yrs, to time of youth, energy, and unbridled ambition. Blessed be the Divinyls!
Chrissy had such a unique voice queen of aussie rock there will never be another chrissy amplett divynals sounds still rock in my home to this day r.i.p chrissy ❤️
I remember seeing this when it played on TV I was glued to the tv by her voice and the band such a great set!!! I bought the record the next day this record ive played the most from start to finish out of any of my records . Once I hear any song come on my iTunes from this album during shuffle play of 3000 songs I have to go to first song every time and play entire album ❤️
I wish they got the recognition that they deserved here in the United States. I remember seeing this on TV when I was about 14 years old. I didn’t know who this band was but I thought they were awesome. At least I got to see them once in concertback in 1991. June 20, 1991 New York City the Ritz. Please Chrissy rest in peace you may be gone but you are far from forgotten. And your personal story is inspiring this man with his own cancer battle.
Just found this video today, the camera work for this show is the absolute best of all I've seen so far and once again it's so good to see the Divinyls in their prime well before all that "I Touch Myself" bull$h!t. Thank you so much for posting it! BTW, Elsie is their Masterpiece IMHO.
Wow, hadn't seen these before. I lived in Kings Cross, Sydney for 6 months back in 1984. Quite the place to live and I became a great fan of this band. All of these songs were huge then and I listened to them regularly on my Sony Walkman. Only "I Touch Myself" seemed to make it back to Canada in the years that followed and I always thought it was a shame because their early stuff was vastly superior. Amazing how music can can give you the feeling you had in your 20's. Thanks for posting!
Only saw them once but from the front of the stage. Incredibly tight outfit & Chrissy made for a 100 percent performance. I didn't take my eyes off her for long, she never stopped moving and gesturing, just so unique & an eye magnet,. She used to say,.' I'm only little you know' She made up for it with movement. If Bonn Scott was the consummate frontman, Chrissy was the consummate front woman. Hi-energy Aussie Rock with a front woman, taken to the world stage. What is the saying, ' the brightest stars burn out the fastest' She redefined female sexuality? We are so proud of the Divinyls & thank goodness we all have these films to watch, hopefully forever?
Wow I couldn’t get as close the speaker stack was almost to the roof of the room and my poor old ears . Stood right up the back and it sounded fantastic !
Great band, great writing & very authentic music. And she,.... she was a national treasure and a gift to us all. Gone far too soon, love, but what mark you made. ❤
Yeah sonically this is faultless. What the hell have UA-cam done, it used to be awful. Buddy has done some tests, yup UA-cam has better sound than even big paying streaming sites. Talk about magic sauce
Me resulta intimidante la fuerza interpretativa de chrissy, ella era capaz de convertirse en lo que sea que requiriera la obra musical que estuviera interpretando, un monstruo, sin palabras.....
Excellent quality, thanks man. As far as Chrissy goes, and I don't mean to sound sexist, but that girl worked her ass off. A huge part of her charm on stage.
Interactive track listing: 1. Boys in Town [00:03] 2. Elsie [03:05] 3. I'll Make you Happy [08:58] 4. Only Lonely [12:15] 5. Siren (Never Let You Go) [16:20] 6. Science Fiction [18:10]
Be nice to have this without the goofy camera double image and stuff junk. I guess in 1983 they thought that was great stuff, but it just screwed up this classic video.
I just don't think America was ready for Chrissy Amphlett. They could barely handle Wendy O'Williams. Because when you listen to their 6 song set, every song is radio friendly as anything else out at the time. In some instances, I hear Top 40, if not Top 20 hits. (Boys In Town / Only Lonely / Science Fiction). That years later, when her image had changed, and their music somewhat, they would get that success; just seems too late. They already should have been a significant band on the charts and on MTV. It comes off like a one hit wonder act, a fluke. When it's very clear they knew how to write great songs, and she had the energy to bring across every one of them with the same intensity every time. I just don't think America was ready for Chrissy Amphlett. She's a different kind of woman.
One hell of a band! WOW! Sound and songs all their own. Miss Chrissy so much, there'll never be another like her.
Amazing time in rock music... We took all of this for granted. Now what do we have???
Shite 😢
Swifty 🤦♂️
Exactly 💯....shit!
Mostly crap

"Touch myself" was the only bad song on that amazing album.

Insanely good! One of the very best and Australian band and singer. Amazing voice and presence on stage, great !
I wish her and Angus Young were both on stage. School uniform legends.

Chrissie is special and golden. So well remembered and respected in a boys' music club time. A.
Only 13K views and 46 comments in two years ???? wtf ???? Our society is apparently lacking 😢 in culture and discernment ❤😂🎉❤😂🎉
Thank you for posting these Divinyls clips, I’ve never seen them in such good quality 👍🏻
no problems, got a few more things to come too 😀

These guys were so good. Mark is a god on guitar, and Chrissie, i have no words...
Really like the way these 2 guitar players work off each other Great !!!!!
I saw this when it first aired and it began a 40 year love affair that continues to this day. Love Chrissy and Divinyls kick ass!
The best singer in rock!
Loved them since “Desperate”, one of the best start to finish LP’s …..EVER! Still holds up today, doesn’t sound dated, timeless.
Their early stuff was the best
Wow! I have not seen this one! Thanks! The sound is awesome!
PERFECTION.
She was a piece of art herself.
Rick Grossman! Power house bass man.

Beautiful song ..totally Australian 🇦🇺
Awesome! Thanks for posting. From a long time fan
Queen
Consumate performer 👍
They sure kicked some ass!
In Oz, It all Happened in 1980s
Great band and i can't help but wonder where Chrissy Amplett found her stage persona. No one ever like her.
Better than the 85 new York performance..Crissie was more energised here
Much better sound. The new York one so I need badly mixed
I noticed Mark is on stage right or left of Cristina. On later shows he switched sides.
Pub music days. Like Outline that played Cicadas that ate Five dock. Bands 7 days a week.
Chrissy❤️gone too soon😢
Holy Moly. She did not look like she drank wine, but was a heavy drinker.
Bugzilla but not over 😢

Riot Grrl
I really miss Chrissy

McEntee looks like a stiff, creepy skeleton dancing around. Can't he loosen up a little?
