    The light bar just screams "we needed to add something to an old design even if it looked out of place."

    I picked up a 2024 in March, I'm averaging 1.6ltr/100km. Combined highway and city. My last fill up was May 15

      Glad to hear it! If you do within the EV range of this vehicle it'll be extremely efficient. Sounds like you're maximizing it!

    My 2023 PHEV ESCAPE is excellent. 20,000km in past year. Summer charging on level 2 is usually in high 60s, plusanother 10_20% regenerative breaking. . You get used to the touchy brakes. My neighbour Tesla owner is jealous 😂

      @@PRNTestDrive Yep, including tax. Also Ford frequently offers financing at 0.99% Is there a better deal for a plug-in hybrid SUV? :)

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  Місяць тому

      Too bad the fine print excludes the HEV and PHEV for that 0.99% interest rate. Hyundai Tucson PHEV comes better equipped for a bit less, and has AWD which is better for our Canadian climates.

      @@PRNTestDrive Hmmm I just checked Ford official site. They currently offer 0.99% financing for PHEV for all terms up to 60 months.
      Hyundai Tucson plug-in currently is at $54,247.26 incl. taxes. So at 5.49% financing for 5 years you end up paying $62,156.40 (almost 8K over) So Ford offers a better deal ;) Imo AWD is not worth it. You still need a good set of winter tires. Also turbo engines tend to break. Btw Ford uses Toyota hybrid tech patents.

    Picking up one of these, or a 2023 model, for about C$40K (there’s a few out there now) is a much more tolerable deal.

      Sounds a lot more reasonable. Hope it works out for you!

    I prefer the Hybrid version.. gets around 560+ miles on a 12 gallon tank of gas..

      Hybrid is the way to go on this one, since you retail AWD. Both are just too expensive though.

    I would hazard a guess that no one has paid $57k for an Escape PHEV. I get that you have to go with the published figures, but Ford is offering good incentives and rates on the Escapes lately. With rebate factored in, I would expect average prices to be closer to $46-50k for the top trim with Premium options package. I paid $48k for my 2024 with premium tech package and every available option except for the sunroof. Nice that Ford still has a la carte options like this so you don’t have to spend $1850 to roast your scalp if you don’t want to. RAV4 Prime might have a few attractive options or badge mystique, but good luck getting one at all, and if you can, you will be spending at least $64k for the Premium XSE. Yes the RAV4 Prime gets you AWD, more HP (as though 200ish isn’t enough for any of these small SUVs), Toyota badge, more ugly exterior plastic mouldings, and a few less creature comforts. You will also feel like you went back 5 years in tech for the extra $16k. Sweet deal I know.

      My concern when manufacturers overprice then offer massive rebates is how it ultimately de-values their product. They say it's worth $57k, but then they sell it for $49k. So it's really only worth $49k. RAM has been doing this quite a bit with 10-15% off MSRP across their range. It's clear that most brands are reducing their production and increasing prices to maximize profits.

      That's how we felt when we drove the non-PHEV version a little while ago.
