  • The Constellation is fully out for MSFS and in the Marketplace. This tutorial is how to manually start it up, configure for a VOR flight with ILS landing using the auto pilot. We will also discuss power settings for climb and cruise. If you are having trouble with this aircraft this video is for you!

You would have crushed the cylinders in RL but over all its an entertaining review.
You cant fly radials like jets.
-Move the throttles SLOWLY and GENTLY.
    - Let the engines stabilize between 30 and 35 inches and check oil pressure, temperature, fuel flow and RPM-stability before setting full power with slow throttle Inputs for the take off
    - Chose your powersetting for decent and approach and do not change it anymore untill 20 feet over the runway. Rather set your flaps to a lower level when you decelerate too fast. Try to maintain your speed with the flapsetting, not the powersetting and in this case Set flaps full at minimums.
-NEVER really NEVER put your engines to idle in midflight (or approach) above V2. Depending on RPM and speed it could cause a backload on the pistons and you can say good bye to your engines.
I really recommend to use the AI for learning how this plane works with all its powersettings etc. Unlike the Twin whasps from the dc6 and the conny, the turbocharched radials from the super conny are super senitive. They really break fast.
Keep going and have a nice flight

Thanks, I was talking with one of the guys in the discord on how to properly set engine power. It’s a learning experience for sure. This was maybe my 3rd day owning it and a handful of hours in.
Thanks so much for the tips. I am glad this aircraft is so comprehensive compared to others that are sort of set and forget. Appreciate you watching and glad it was entertaining. Cheers!

As someone who is new to airplanes in all manners, i find it fascinating how such a juggernaut can be directed through the air, and land so gracefully despite its very apparent weight. Personally i don't expect to ever fly airliners in MSFS as i prefer smaller planes, but i still admire the science behind these larger aircraft. As an aside, i don't know if you are familiar with Lee Carvallo from the putting challenge game in the Simpsons, but that guy in your plane that answers 'flaps up, flaps down', sounds a lot like him :D

It’s crazy right!? You should give something like the CJ4 a try to work your way up an airliner. I’ll be doing a CJ4 tutorial at some point. Thanks for the comment!

@@sprocketsimulations I’ve read other comments, very encouraging :) It’s a lot like DC-6, a good new project for me to learn. I love complexity of an old aircraft. Like you said, learning and later mastering, is rewarding. I hope they keep developing and improving this aircraft. Thx for sharing !

Overall you handled the Connie well. A few things will probably come with more practice. Nice job

Thanks for the info in Discord! Having a blast with this one. I think a lot of people are forgetting how complex of an aircraft is and get frustrated with its complexities. But that is exactly why I like it! Learning how to fly this is super rewarding!

My plane wouldn’t’t start no matter what I did, ground power was locked so I had no ground power, do you need ground power to start this plane? I followed everything else perfectly

is it true that this mode modifies default flight simulator files?

Should get it, hard to learn ? I’ve flown PMDG DC6 a lot, without radios mainly :)

I do, it is complex and I’ve learned a lot more since this video. But if you like the complexity of the DC6 I’m sure you will right at home in the beauty!

I have this addon but when I load up the game all off the plane textures are pink and broken:( Can you help me diagnose it and or walk me through the installation steps maybe I am doing something wrong.

Searching the forums this is down to missing textures. I would reinstall and see if that helps. Also temporally remove all items from your community folder to see if that is causing some conflicts.

Sorry for the delay but I haven’t flown this is ages so I will have to revisit it and see. I’ll let you know when I get a chance.

Can not take off! Ready for take off all the things, brakes off, engine trust max, flaps ,....and the plane doesn't move anything...why?

That tongue smacking noise you often make doesnt make you sound smarter. Terrible habit the narrator has. Otherwise, nice video.

Thanks for the feedback. This was one of my early videos while starting out with my UA-cam channel and talking on videos. Still working on my “ummms” but the smacking is much better now. Either that or I done got more smarter. Nahh.
