@@musclelessfitness2045me too, bro. He has natural speed and has finally started being able to do more mileage without injury. Hoping we're going to see growth on the roads
@steventownley3342 We all know Spence is a great runner. We're just saying that he might shine more in the half to full marathon range. He even said it himself. He has never competed over 10k before, so seeing these results is encouraging, to say the least.
Very solid performance Spencer for the first race in your life over 10K. Good sign that you ran your fastest split - 4:53 - on the last mile. Means you have excellent potential to extend your average pace for a half and probably more as you progress in your training.
First time viewer of your content. It was really interesting to hear you talk about the race and your abilities. For someone obviously so fast and talented, I was surprised how uncertain you were about the start, pacing, hydration, etc. FWIW the Boston Marathon is this x100(?). 26.2 of nonstop fan support. We live on the course and it’s the biggest day of the year for me. Personally, being at the race and cheering and supporting the runners, elite, qualifiers, and fund raisers is my #1 day to have off and free. I hope to cheer you on at it one day! Cheers
Love following your and Allie's content. When you said you were on the Cape but it was a 90 min drive to Falmouth, I knew I had to check your Strava -- sure enough, you were in Truro! We've got a place there too, so looking forward to trying out some of the routes you have run - the one around the ponds looks awesome!
It blows my mind with 2 miles to go you said it wasn't feeling too bad but your heartrate was in the mid-190s. I would have been dying if not dead at that HR haha
Been hyped to see this video after seeing the live stream. What a confidence boost that must of been. Stoked for the next race and to see you start out a little more aggressive 👊
Love this race!!! I ran it 3 times from 2014-2016. Was watching this to see if Spencer would beat my best time and he just got me by 2 seconds. Get after it Spencer, rooting for you
Glad you enjoyed Falmouth. I grew up Falmouth and first ran the race in 1975. I have lost count of how many times I have run it, but I know every step of that course.
Great performance. Those first two miles are pretty slow because of the hills, especially if you're not familiar with it, so you did really well. It was definitely humid, but it was about as nice weather as you can get for Falmouth! Usually you're just baking in the sun the whole time
I watched the Falmouth Live Stream. It was pretty lame because they showed the start and the finish, but nothing in between. I saw you talking with some of the elite guys just prior to the start and because of that, I assumed you started with the elites. On the live stream they had the clock going for the 31 and 32 minute guys then the clock disappeared. So at 32:00 I started my own watch on replay and rewatched for you to come in. You crossed the line on the feed at 3:46 which gives you a 35:46 according to my "calculations". However, this is the exact time you reported. I'm thinking that since you started a little behind the "elites", you actually clocked a 31:41. But either way, this was a great showing for you and YES you are an elite runner. I'm confident in next year's edition, you'll be in the elite field. Thanks for giving the viewer what the middle parts of the 7 mile course looked like.
My no spoiler prediction for 7 miles will be sub 36 minutes. 35:45 Edit: Eyy lets goo! 35:46 is incredible dude! I just did a 5k yesterday and ran 19:09, my fastest ever 5k so far, and it's only the beginning so I'm really excited to see what I can run at the end of the season. Congrats on your race man, and continue the good videos, I can't wait to see what you have in store in the future!
very true, half marathon and marathons are way different ball game, you can rawdog a 10k 20 minutes after waking up having not eaten anything but try that even for a half marathon and you're done
Oh my gosh, please! 🙏. I just ran it for the second time, this year and last year, and the energy is unlike anything else. It’s so much fun just to run and see everything even more so than to race.
Hadn't heard of this race before my coach ran it last weekend (she finished 10th) - looks like a really fun course though. The course profile definitely shows this course has more challenge than most road races - certainly the majority of 10k races here in the UK are on reasonably flat routes. Shame the broadcast coverage was a static shot of the start and then finish rather than following the runners on course. That was a great result - with the experience and course knowledge you'll be able to pace the race better next year!
Hey how long r u gonna be in New England for bc I’m from mass and I would love to come see u race! Is there somewhere that u announce wut races u r doing before u do them?
Couple yrs ago,b4 he did the series of his dad training him, ive said this man would be better on the roads than the track. Its good to see him in his 1st real road race and doing very well. He should def jump into some NYRR races(Abbott Dash to Finish Line,NYC Half,Brooklyn Half),he'll get top competition plus great crowds
Spencer, I think you might have some real talent in the longer distances. Keep up the good work!
I've been suggesting that for the past 2-3 years. Thank god he's finally done with track.
I’m starting to think this guy has some talent for running in general
@@musclelessfitness2045me too, bro. He has natural speed and has finally started being able to do more mileage without injury. Hoping we're going to see growth on the roads
Love these comments he was on a pro team with josh kerr post college .Spencer must be good at running to get on brooks beast team

The way you cut that race down and finished in 4:53 was 🔥

I was heading to the comments to see if anyone else saw 😂
He's homosexual. Don't be a bigot.
Dude is gonna have knee issues running like that.
Shut up.
Super good Boston runner who doesn’t really get injured. Somehow his foot strike is neutral and I guess it works!?
One day I hope to be a great runner like you your amazing inspiration
Great race and I like how you condense everything down so it's not a 30 min video.
Good job Spencer - keep healthy and enjoy the longer distances experience!

I was there! Much further back though, had no issues with being alone 🙂Greetings from Slovakia!
Congrats, that was a brilliant time! I enjoy seeing all the stats on-screen too =D
This was a really cool video. Cool seeing the perspective of elite racers! Makes me want to go out there and race 🏃
YESIRRRR the local legend finally joins THE Alphafly GANGGGGG!!!!!!
Congrats, Spencer. I’m glad you enjoyed the race.

saying that you dont feel that bad with more than 2 miles left and a 195 HR is crazy
Great job Spencer. It is amazing to see how much progress you have made in the last few months.
Great pace and beautiful course! Congratulations! 🎉
cape cod rail trail! I live on the cape :) glad you got to experience the beauty!!! great race! keep it up!
Hi, noticed your HR escalates to 180 plus almost immediately after the start, amazing that you held it throughout and didn't blow up.
Well done

you'd love the boilermaker race in Utica spencer

Great work! Awesome video also.
Good job!
Of course you have to hydrate ... especially for your half marathon. Not just water, but some drink with carbs.
very true, half marathon and marathons are way different ball game, you can rawdog a 10k 20 minutes after waking up having not eaten anything but try that even for a half marathon and you're done
It was cool to see my daughter in your video. She was handing out water between mile 3 and 4.
Miles.... 7 mile= just more than 11.2km. Not a bad time at all. Well done!
You and Allie should head out to Iowa for the Bix 7 next summer, more hills but an insane crowd

excellent race.. keep it going
Cape Cod is one of my favorite places to run.
If you’re looking for another super fun and packed race give the Peachtree 10k a shot in Atlanta GA. It’s hot and humid as hell but very fun!

Dude come to Kenosha, Wisconsin next May and do the half marathon at the Wisconsin Marathon. It's an awesome run.
Lovin' the podcast!
great run Spencer gotta be careful with the half that feeling of hitting 10 miles and knowing you still have 3 to run is unrivaled.

What do you think about Jakob's 7:17 3k wr? Do you think such an insane time can be run clean?

TBH, I take every performance at the professional level with a grain of salt. 🤔
i dont know many people that "dont feel too bad " at 195 bpm
