Hey man, just wanted to say whenever I need some insight before working on my Cherokee, it's your tutorials that I go to first everytime. Not sure if you'll see this but I have to ask, if I wanted to upgrade my fuel injectors from the original single stream to a 4 holed injector, which injector brand would you recommend that's quality but not too out of budget? Appreciate ya
It is interesting how your fuel rail is captive by the injectors. Most fuel rails are only held on to the injector top by clamps to the engine. If you did this setup to many efi systems, one or more injectors would have popped out spraying fuel everywhere!
Tried it and it didn't work, had to wack them with 12 volts to break them loose, then the 9 volts worked. Plugged them back in and it fired right up. Course my 92 YJ 2.5 had been sitting for over 10 years. I thought like all my other cars and trucks that ethanol had killed the fuel pump when it wouldn't start 10+ years ago (it had been sitting for months at a time already). Turns out, it was just outta gas. At any rate, Corvid gave me time to start working on my stuff, and 12v got mine going again. Now to do the 20 gallon mod while the tank is off, and rebuild the only rusted part of my jeep, which is the gas tank skip plate. btw, it's only got 79,000 original miles on it.
Hey Dale! I just put Bosch injectors, 6 pack of OEM 4 hole for $50 from EBAY, in my 4.0 1994 YJ. They seem great so far. The low price made me a little nervous....$50 for all 6 seems a little cheap to me. I'm defiantly very happy with them, but I've only put about 500 miles on them so far.
Just did mine seems like a real rough idle. Did yours have that at first or was it good from the get go? I tried the ecm reset, power on lights on then off after holding the power an ground together for 30 secs. Hoping it'll smooth out or I may just really clean my old ones. I'll give it some time.
Seemed to me that your # 5 was the best injector and that's not saying much . I have thought about 4 hole injectors also but i'm still doing research on them . I have read that some people have great success with them while others have nothing but problems and end up going back to the one hole factory ones . Curious on what you do and to see your results . Anyway take care Dale and looking forward to your next video.
Yes, that's what I hear as well. Some say they see improvements, others say makes no difference. I should run 4 hole for a tank, then run single hole. Do that for a few tanks over months and calculate mpg.. 😁
@@JeepSolid I have them all .. 1 hole oem / 4 hole /12 hole is currently where I’m at .. definitely from 1to4 there was a smoother throttle &.. 4to12 Haven’t really notice any significant difference. Yet till I check mpg . This my second day with these 12 hole . 😅
Not much of a “misting” action from those injectors at all!! For the price of them, not really worth trying to clean them up. Off topic, what lapel mic are you using? Thanks.
Why didn't you show the same method testing after the 4holes are installed?!? ***also wanted to know if 4hole is better than 1... is 12 hole better than 4....!?!
Do you need to change out the rest of the tuning (i.e. spark plugs coil pack ext..) at the same time regarding the four hole injectors or does that even matter?
I have a question I watch a lot of your videos I have a 1991 jeep Cherokee and it quit on me last week and I put all new sensors on it and it still won’t start it start Sunday and ran kinda good and when I turn it of it hasn’t started since
before wathcing this video, im helping a friend work on his 95 yj, and i suspected the injectors. now here is the thing we pulled the rail and i took injectors off, i used the car battery to try and hear the coil energize.... couldit be that giving the injectors full 12.6V car battery power can frie the electrci coil??? we after tested them by holding (hand pwoer) the injectors in and cranking, 1 out of 4 worked , in every position ( we switched the one good injector to check for signal power and power supply. did i fry the injectors with the car battery?? or would it wokr no matter 9V or 12 V
The more holes the better... I can't remember which Chrysler/Dodge car uses a 9 hole injector that works and improves fuel mileage... If I find the video I'll tag you in it... Have a great day...
4 hole injector is obviously better as long it not means more use of petrol. You claim it will give better fuel economy and thats good. I wonder how complicated it was to release that fuel rail from the motor? Is it eas?
@@JeepSolid yeah... I've got code p0443 and 1495 with a cylinder 3 misfire once it warms up... New pcv valve, iat sensor, coolant temp sensor, upstream o2 sensor, ECU, ... It's getting spark and I can hear the injector working.... I literally am at the end of my rope even the mechanics are stumped
Consistent spark? That was my next thought. Next, I'd wonder if injector is malfunctioning? Clogged maybe. Would still click, but not squirt fuel. Fuel pressure is ok? Just a few thoughts..
@@JeepSolid dude any thoughts are a godsend lol spark seems to be consistent- my injectors as of right now are 2 year old eBay remand 4 holes... So yes I'm wondering about it maybe being clogged... That's literally all I'm left to assume other than some vaccum leak I haven't found yet... It runs great for a few minutes then misfires because it's running too rich (the front cat was glowing) after idling for 20 minutes..I just don't know why it's running so rich on #3...??? Isn't this crazy lol

Good point.
Most rail systems have retainer clips.

If you put the wires the other way around or vice versa for the positive or negative clip on the injector it will not get damage?
I put 4 point injectors in my 4.0 from Ebay they are dodge neon type not extra power but a whole lot better throttle response
No heat shielding on the intake manifold/fuel rail is crazy work....
one hole or four well my chevy cavalier had miniature shower head with 10 or more holes. it misted the fuel
mine are bosch ford v8 injectors with the 4 holes that give me up to 150klm more from a full tank than the original 1 hole injectors
Awesome test 👌

@@anubis8680 I didn't have any idle issues at all. It ran smooth immediately.
does battery polarity matter when connecting to the injector? thanks, Brian
No. Polarity does not matter
Big help thanks! Now I can test them for sure. Several of them aren't working at all.
Great demonstration!!
Just Paid $30 for 6 Bosch 4 hole models, from Ebay. They look remanned but ok. Going to install and run a squirt test like this before firing it up!
I'll be upgrading soon.
I am a Namibian having a smoking Wild track Ford ranger giving a sound on the fuel injectors give me the advice what I must do.

5 volt is the require proper voltage . To mimic the cpu aka computer .
I have a xj that only one injector the 3rd one back that isnt workin new injector just isn't pulsing how do ifix this someone please help
I’d start with this test. First 10min or so of the live video covers it 👍🏼 ua-cam.com/video/bAe9knxKQiE/v-deo.html

Injectors actually run on battery voltage for this engine so you should be fine. If they didn't work then they where dead af
I use this in my shop... I just use clear bottle to catch the fuel measure the flow...
Genius.
Great video … thanks
How can you clean these OEM injectors any way to flush them out with injector cleaner?
There's many vids on YT showing you how to do it cheap
I know you realize the price of each fuel injectors, so what I am asking is will the horse power increase justify the extra cost?
Injectors can not increase horsepower.
Nice video it's helping
I would be interested you see the pattern on a 4 hole
Awesome 👏
Excellent video I just had to block your 49er sign.

always
Hello
ksuspension has 12 holes as well. I've been gathering parts for a rebuild and plan on picking those up soon for my xj.
Very cool!
I was really hoping this video would have bad vs good injectors for comparison. Big sad.
yeah nah
I throw burning cigarettes into 5 gallons of raw gas all the time.
why not just start the car while it's hook up to the injector instead of using the battery
Wire harness that connects to the injectiors might not have allowed it.
