    1. Right at the end of the tutorial 43:58 I use a retargeter called "RTG_Mann_AC". This is just the IKretargeter used in the tutorial, duplicated and renamed while not recording.

      A hack I figured out: You can also setup a project in UE4 to import your CC3 characters using the UE4 plugin from Reallusion and then Migrating the Character to your UE5 Project with the CC_Shader folder. Doing it that way I didn't have any issue's

    Hip joints are physically closer to the sides rather than centered in the thigh. The bone comes up right beneath your hip-bone, where the joint itself actually is. Placing it there might've helped with the bow-leggedness.

      this is actually not true by so much. thigh bones do attach inside the pelvis almost in the dead center of the thigh, just look at any human skeleton reference. people placing hip bones closer to the sides (same with the knees etc.) should burn in peculiar riggers hell

    Thanks for the great video.
    When you do the skeletal IK retargeting (after ActorCore import), would it be possible for the ActorCore devs/team/content creator to include all the different skeletal sections pre-defined as meta/equivalent data? - and for Unreal Engine, during import, to automatically retarget, etc? It just seems so silly that as much of the entire import/retarget/etc process isn't automated.

    Cool tutorials, I am very new to this and I am having a lot of trouble getting the animations and dynamic foot placement right when I retarget the unreal mannequin animations to a mixamo character. I was wondering if you would be doing a tutorial on this.

Also if you have any suggestions of how to create an endless walking cycle for cinematic in blender or even unreal… the walking animation I download from mixamo just does the 5 seconds walking cycle and then stops, but how do I make it continue it for a lot longer.. I tried copying and pasting the animation but all it does is start the animation from its original location .. I can’t get it to continue from where it left off. Kind of oftopic but it seems complicated.

    I have one minor setback, the "add settings to selected bones" that you use multiple times (first seen at 29:10) is disabled for all my bones, do you happen to know how to fix this ?

      Make sure you select the full body IK first

    Another awesome tutorial! Just a quick question. Once I have retargeted, i only get the jog anim not multiple ones. Is there a reason for that? Thanks again

    Hi and thank you for the tutorial, a precious resource indeed! I've just started with AccuRig and in version 1.1 a lot of things changed in bones names when exported for UE. It seems that new names are compatible with Epic mannequin but still I don't understand if I have to go through the same procedure (as this video does) or now there is a quicker way to use AccuRig character in UE5 with Epic skeleton (thus have access to UE marketplace animations). I hope in a future tutorial on this topic 🙂

      Yes, it may require some experimentation. but once you have an IKRig you can use it for retargeting.

    Hello. whats actually You used to get smoothing on mesh? when im exporting from CC3 or Blender i have not smoothed chara, PN TRIANGLES/Tesseations gone in UE5 . any idea? thanks.

      Once you have created your IKRig you can use for any :)

    Amazing video, thanks for that! I just dont understand why my character hips/down wont move when I play.. the legs remain in idle position and wont move, even when I walk/run as if the feet are stuck. Its not an animation issue, they are exported perfectly, but when I play with my character the feet wont move so the legs barely move either. Im using a CC3 model that has feet IK, from my little understanding it could be that?

      When you say play, do you mean as a Thirdperson character ? If so, it sounds like the foot IK is broken.
      You can disable the foot IK controlRig node, inside the animation blueprint, to test this.

      @@Jobutsu Yes, in the 3rd person view, replacing the original mannequin, but it seems like its the IK controlRig node as you have mentioned! I have no knowledge on this, Im trying to learn UE5 for the first time so I dont know how to fix that. Then I decided to start a tutorial on how to create a animation blueprint for a custom character and everything seems to be working so far!

    Thanks for this - It helps with certain things I'm trying to figure out. I wonder, can you help with another thing I am trying to figure out. I've made some levels of a game in FPS. It is not really a shooter game, though. How can I get the character's forward (weapon holding) hand to be gone? Just want a first person view.

    What r ur specs? cz im using a rizen 9, rtx 3070 & UE5 is crashing & its frustrating

      Just report it,hopefully they will fix in an update. make sure you are running the correct/newest drivers etc.

    Not sure if you've covered this already or not but do I have to do this IK Retargeter every time I import a CC3 character or is there some way I can duplicate the chain and reuse it?

      I ran out of time to explain. Next time you import a character, in the FBX dialog choose your Actorcore/CC Skeleton instead of "None". Then, in the IKRetargeter you can just choose your character (Skeletal Mesh) in "Target IK Asset".

      @@Jobutsu Ohhh I see. Sorry, I'm a major noob at this. One more question though, what if the bones don't perfectly line up? Ex: I have a CC3 character that has a belt that registers as a bone but the rest of his bones are the same as other CC3 characters. Would he still work with the retargeter or would I have to redo it all?

      I really am a novice with Character Creator, it is not something I use, so is difficult for me to test.
