This is delicious because I'm Kristi mom and I have already eat this so yummy like I told Kristi I would double the recipe that way lots of leftovers for later
I made Keto Meatloaf today.. tomorrow I'll give this a try. Steak is so expensive now so it's Hamburger Time.. sometimes i'll mix in some Beef liver with the Burger meat.
I cook my bacon in the microwave on a special dish made for microwave bacon. I know some people don't like cooking in the microwave; but for those who do, this is the best way to cook it !!!!
Wow, everything about your kitchen is totally spotlessly clean...even your spice jars! Anyway, I digress. Can't wait to make this and thanks for sharing.
I’m telling you if you cook your bacon in the oven you’ll never go back to cooking it any other way. On a cookie sheet in the oven and doesn’t splatter. My mother has cooked it that way for as long as I can remember and I do the same. Tyfs the recipe it looks delicious!😋
I've been baking it this way for 4 or 5 years now. I line the baking sheet with aluminum, put a cooling rack, in the sheet, put the bacon on it. No mess... no splatter.
Totally agree, I am never going back myself to pan frying, and you can still catch the pan drippings if baked in the oven. The bacon comes out super crispy, almost like chips. It makes for a great snack too and can be stored for longer like a cured meat.
The way to make the bacon i have found is chop it up in pieces then cook it on the stove stir often. I make my bacon bits this way just smaller cut up pieces and they are amazing
I cook bacon in the Instant Pot on sauté. I do it that way to keep splatters confined. After reading the comments, I am going to try cooking it in the oven. Thanks for the recipe.
I only cook my bacon in my oven , turns out great every time. No splatter no mess. Then I strain the grease into mason jars . And because I do it so often I refrigerate my bacon grease , Because I have a lot at a time .
I totally agree, cook your bacon in your oven, it will not ruin anything it doesn't splatter it doesn't smoke! Lay your bacon in a jelly roll pan, one with edges all around on a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Pot in your cold oven, then turn your oven on to 300 degrees and set your timer for 40 minutes. It should take closer to 50 minutes, but that gives you a chance to fine tune your crispiness. Perfect every time! I store it in the fridge until use, just microwave or heat up in a pain before serving.
For decades I have put my bacon in a covered Tupperware oval baker from the90s, but any covered microwave/ oven safe casserole would do.I set my microwave on full power, and depending on your desired level of crispiness and how many slices you have is how you arrive at your optimal time. For four slices, I put it at four minutes because we like it crispy. Grease is a mess to clean up, and I would much rather be doing something else than cleaning up that mess; this way, all your mess is in a covered container and it is easy peasy.👍👍
Hi Kristi. Your Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole looks delicious. Some of your subscribers mentioned cooking your bacon in the oven and I agree. It is the only way I do my bacon and love it like that. Thank you for sharing💜
In the oven at 400° takes about 5-10 mins depending on how crispy you like it. If you are worried about the oven getting dirty, you can cover the sheet pan with aluminum foil
Just started Keto! My daughter in law freaks out with onions too! Your recipes are going save the day cooking for ME and especially HER needs! Thank you!
Foil on a baking sheet, lay out the bacon and bake at 375 for about 20 minutes depending on how crispy you want it. Flip halfway through. No mess, it doesn't splatter at alll in the oven like it does stovetop.
I cook bacon in the over at 400 degrees on a nonstick foil lined pan and flip and drain after about 8 minutes then back in the oven for another 5 or 6 minutes then take a look and see if its crispy.
Hi Kristi, I'm going to try and make casserole tonight. I was scared to cook bacon in oven but I tried last night 😳😥 I read this vlog it said place bacon on foil covered pan. Place in oven and turn on oven to 375°, cook for 15-20 mins depending on how crisp you like your bacon. Bacon came out yummy and no big mess to clean up. Oven was fine.
I also bake mine in the oven on a cookie cooling rack with a baking pan lined with foil under it. That way I can collect the bacon fat easily to store for cooking with.
I’m going to try this soon. I just cooked the lunchmeat lasagna today from another of your videos. It was really good. My daughter thought it tasted like a pizza casserole LOL she took the leftovers home for her family😊 Thanks for all you do!
Definitely go with the oven. So easy! Get a big baking sheet and line it with parchment for easy clean up! Lay the bacon out and bake at 425 for about 12-20 minutes depending on how crisp you like it. You will never make it any other way!
Tip for cooking bacon: place parchment paper in a foil-lined baking pan with sides tall enough to catch excess grease (I use a broiling pan without the rack). Place bacon side by side as many slices you want but no more than will fit single layer. Top with another layer of parchment paper and of aluminum foil to prevent splatter inside your oven. Bake at 350F for about 15 minutes, or until desired doneness. Perfectly cooked bacon with no mess. 😊 (Clean and reuse foil!)
I cook my bacon in the microwave put a paper towel in a plate put the slaices of bacon, cover them with another paper towel and add 1 minute to each slice, they will come out crispy.
This looks delicious Sis! The bacon doesn't spit grease in the oven like you would think.. it really works and I think you should try it! Have a beautiful weekend!
@@SouthernKristi lol.. just turn the light on in the oven and watch it cook.. maybe try with just 2 or 3 slices instead of a whole pound just to try it and use parchment paper or foil on the cookie sheet for less clean up later..
Girl I'm all about baking my bacon do a high side pan half way through pull out and drain oil then pop back in finish and drain again I pour right into my mason jar then out bacon in some paper towel amd soak my pan in the sink you can line with foil first as well for a bit easier clean up
We cook 3lbs of bacon a few times a month just for the rendered bacon fat and we eat the bacon for days. We try our bacon outside on a propane camping stove in a huge skillet. We live in southeast Texas so we try to do it on the earlier side in the morning before it gets too hot. No smoke in the house. No smell besides the cooked bacon you bring inside. Delicious! 😋 I would use a pound of bacon in this casserole and less cheese. Delicious!! 🥓🥓🥓 Dairy kills me.
Bacon in the oven... I bake at 350°... does not make a mess in your oven... if you're using the convection setting on your oven, you'll need to lower the temperature down to 300° or 325°...
Cook your bacon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover the top with parchment also to prevent splattering. Temperature and time will vary depending on thickness of the bacon and personal preference for crispiness. I prefer cooking mine at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes. The result is beautiful crisp bacon and super easy cleanup. Do not exceed the temperature rating for the parchment which I think is about 400 degrees.
I love cooking my bacon in the oven at 375. I've done it that way for about 20 years. It does not pop and sizzle in the oven like it does on the stove. Try it, I think you'll be sorry you have not done it sooner!
Forgot to add we did a taste test this morning between Carolina Pride and Smithfield Homestyle. We loved the Carolina Pride! The Smithfield was more like country ham.
Looks good. I usually cook my bacon in the microwave--place slices on paper towel on a microwave safe plate, cover with paper towel and cook on high power about 1 minute per slice. If they aren't cooked to your desired crispness, cook an additional 10-15 minute until it's done to your liking. Can you post the recipe/link for the graham crackers?
Tips on making bacon, my way: use microwave. Line a dinner plate with a paper towel. Fold a single piece of bacon in half and lay on paper towel on plate. Continue until you have 8 bacons folded in half. Cover bacon with a double paper towel. Put plate in microwave and cook on high for 8 mins. Bacon comes out well done. Let bacon cool, No mess no fuss.
cooking bacon in the oven does not destroy your oven. Believe it or not, it does not splatter and the bacon doesn't even curl. I've done this many times. I take a big aluminum cookie sheet, line it with parchment paper, then the bacon. I bake it at 400 until my desired crispness. Be careful taking the pan out of the oven so you don't spill the grease. The air fryer works, too, but if it's smoking, you're cooking it too high.
Cook bacon on parchment paper on cookie sheets on 400 degrees until done. Easy Peary. No explosions. Also lately I have been cooking it on the grill. I just make a double layer of foil, fold up the sides to make a “pan”. Just be careful not to poke through the foil when turning the bacon over. Cooks beautifully, then you can just throw away the foil. No bacon smell in the house.
I just cut the bacon into small pieces with kitchen shears and cook it in a skillet. Takes less time than whole pieces and cooks more evenly. Already crumbled for you!
I do the same thing and have for forever! I always wondered why people cook the big strips and chop it. I make a bunch of it at one time and keep it in the fridge to sprinkle in meals.
