Super Metroid - GBA Edition is a ROM Hack of Metroid: Zero Mission that changes the level design to be nearly identical to Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo. While not a complete 1:1 remake, this hack does what it can to be as faithful to the original game as possible.
Mikewillplays ( tasvideos.org/... ) aims to beat the whole game while collecting 101% of the items.

This one is the best original SM "remake" I've ever played. The creativity to recreate elements of the original game is totally awesome.

Hope you enjoy this TAS!
I can see there was an engine limitation of moving surfaces, it's neat what you find in recreations like this. The super missile puzzle at the end was interesting, I don't think that has ever been done before. That would make for some interesting restrictions in later games. Overall this was a neat recreation, my only complaint is the lack of bosses. A lot were missing, which makes this too easy. I wonder how this would go on Fusion's engine.
Zero mission has the same Fusion engine. In fact this romhack has several Fusion assets
@@MetroidFusion5044 so then why couldnt they use the one-way gates?
@@carlosemilio5180 one way gates?
@@MetroidFusion5044 There are those thick one-way gates in Fusion, where you have to shoot a button to open it (you can only open the gate from behind when you have wavebeam)
@@futurefox128 Probably because they didn't know how to place them at the time? I think this is a very old mod, unless it was picked up by someone else recently

And Now, the Moment nobody was waiting for
29:49 Spazer and Plasma together… Oh, Mother Brain is Screwed already.
murder beam
37:41 that’s gotta be embarrassing for crocomire
Bro couldn't even spawn 😭😭
That super missile room made me lose it
Pretty good effort, considering the tools they had to work with. Some jank when dealing with stuff the original had that they couldn’t replicate (up/down facing doors, for example), but all in all a solid re-creation of the SNES classic. B+.
Oh, and the TAS was entertaining, as expected.
Just putting that here

Terminal montage moments
@@diegor8198 So True
I didn't even know this existed but I definitely prefer the original
Cleanest BT skip I've ever seen
all of the changes from super metroid in terms of progression makes me feel violated
If this was a real 1st party port back in the day, I would have bought it
How many missiles do you want ?
Samus : YES
Buen video, Super Metroid con graficos de Metroid Dread. Imagina esa posibilidad
Puede ser, aunque yo creo que eso podría quedar para un futuro remake de Fusion
GRACIAAAAS!!!!
Bro Speed rund The boss Cleanest kill I ever seen
this made me realize how similar Zero Mission and Super Metroid are 😭
I know they tried and a lot of effort was made to make it look 'almost' the same as super metroid, but seriouslly though, if i wanted to play super metroid I would play super metroid. It's a very good attempt though. Btw, 51:26 NICE. And then 51:39, LMAOOOO.
that is the best video of a TAS. I Be looked
Personally, wished the Spazer Beam's code was made it's own separate patch for normal ZM
lol the arm pump haha ^^
I’m going to assume this is an 89-99% accurate recreation and just in the first few areas be amazed
Also… was that for made of…… crumble blocks???
What was the deal with the robot head fight at the beginning? It also seemed to be missing a lot from Super Metroid.
They were working with zero mission models and scripts so most boss fights are missing obviously
CERES IS MISSING
Meanwhile i am crying, On the side Because I don't know how to do what pro and speed runners can do
Terminal montage be like: 1:58
Needs explosions
I like the added detail but never liked the sped up twitchy movement.
길이 레전드긴 하네 슈퍼메트로이드는 정말 대단한 작품이 맞지만
숨겨진 길찾는 난이도는 역대급인듯
that 5 wide beam with all them combined is insane!
Hola, alguien por favor, podria explicarme como jugar esto?
How do u activate the zip lines ?
Wait why is it so zero mission-y though
It's a GBA hack of Zero Mission.
This hack tried to recreate Super Metroid in Zero Mission's engine.
sfx of bosses in this game is abysmal
How can I get my hands on this game?
14:00 phantom tá muito estranho nesse remake😂
Some bro some bro played this with funny and sassy comments
I think the franchise needs to trend somewhere away from the solar system where Zebes planet was located. In this stance the Metroid Dread had a good move. I would also completely revised all suit's features and made enemies looking less cartoonish. All that mosquitos and worm-like insects should be left behind. The metroid franchise needs to breathe life in by making some updates.
Regarding this GBA version TAS: good job, it would be great to see also reverse boss order TAS.
Only ZM/1, Super and Prime took place in that solar system, SR388 isn't in the same system
@@Putnam3145 IIRC, you can also include Prime 2 in that list. Aether and Tallon IV are in the same system.
UPDATE: Per Wikitroid, they're all in the same galaxy, though not explicitly the same star system.
@@thehellsage Exactly. Prime took place there. There was even observatory room in the game where it was shown. Scroll 6, Threat never ends could be added. It's homebrew but whatever. I mean Ridley, sidehoppers, ripers and other that type of creatures should be eradicated from the franchise. Now is next gen era, right? So let's make next Metroid more brutal, maybe even bloody and more enhanced in terms of graphics, we fought bugs enough. No matter if it's 3d version or sidescroller. Many criticize the Metroid other M for some silly story moves "missiles not allowed" etc but i also think that adding really good story line is good idea for the game. Also, bad thing is when you about to complete the game, let's say 80 plus percent you usually got only extra missiles and bombs to collect, it is boring. We need some really interesting feature to aspire to when you reach 100%. Extra level maybe. It's just important not to spoilt everything like they did in the Price of persia lost crown"😄
@@thehellsage there's an orrery with every planet in the solar system in MP1, which is actually the only place that establishes zebes is in the solar system of tallon IV IIRC?
Yeah SM for SNES >>>>>
"GBA super metroid - GBA edition"
🤨❓❔❓
101% quoi
Samus could have any number of toe fungi after running around on countless planets. Imagine a very moist dark green cyst growing on her right foot, along with a throbbing deep red giant mole on her left foot. My son is crying right now because I had to explain what this could do to people.
What the actual fuck is wrong with you
Deranged
Out of pocket but definitely funny
🇷🇺👍
>GBA Super Metroid
>remaking super in zero missions engine
BASED... but fucking why lol inb4 because I/we fucking can. Metriod fandom can be so autistic man. Lets see someone do dread in fusions engine so it can go full circle. Wait dread in fusion would be really fucking cool art wise MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
Considering there's a Zero Mission hack for Super Metroid, somebody probably felt some strange obligation to do the reverse...
@@burningwreckage00 there was unused tiles in mzm that was for the pirate ship area and there was also unused sprites for crocomire iirc
it had to happen. mzm was actually going to be more like super metroid but the devs thought it would've made no sense
