This is INSANE! You're the best Portal player I've ever SEEN! One question though - how did you get higher and higher when you put both Portals on the ground? My friend was doing something like that today but we both had no idea how she was doing it.
You've got to jump and flick upwards before you release. I did a brief guide, you should be able to find it in the Portal 2 playlist on my channel (or the related videos to the right on here).
I think what impressed me the most is that you actually posted a few failed tries. It makes the whole thing that much more impressive when people know how much work went into it, instead of just trying to pass it off as an '11 minute mario speed run' type video. Amazing job!
At first I thought the video would be about little Easter egg things you could do with the cubes, but when I saw the video, my jaw dropped. You, sir, deserve a Nobel Prize from Aperture Science.
It's fairly straight forward to learn the basics. I found it easier to use than the other 3D programs i trialled. Lot's of guides on youtube, so it's fairly easy to get started.
@bananaman40 I use maximum sensitivity on the X and Y axis, which gives the highest turning speed. I have button config3 which put the jump and release buttons on the LB & RB which means i can keep control over the analogue sticks while jumping and releasing. So the general principle is strafe>turn>flick upwards>jump>release at top of jump
0:46 I... Had no idea. That's just awesome. Exactly how am I gonna show my friends that, though... "Okay, now, throw the cube INTO the orange portal. No, I don't know HOW, just DO IT. IT'LL BE WORTH IT, OKAY?"
I don’t know why I did this but yeah i guess ------------ “Please do not attempt to remove testing apparatus from the testing area, a replacement aperture science weighted storage cube will be delivered shortly” -GLaDOS portal 1 “Despite the best efforts of the enrichment center staff to ensure the safe performance of all authorize activities you have managed to ensnare yourself permanently inside this room a complementary escape hatch will open in 3 2 1” -GLaDOS Portal 1 “You have trapped yourself, congratulations! the exit door is now open” -I really don’t know Portal 2 “If you think trapping yourself Is going to make me stop testing you’re sorely mistaken, here’s another cube” -GLaDOS Portal 2 Oops! You trapped yourself I guess that’s it then, thanks for testing. You may well lay down and get acclimated to the being dead position. I’m kidding, not about you trapping yourself though. That really happened, here I’ll lower the glass. Go on... Finish the test” -GLaDOS Portal 2 “Now how did you manage that? Are you really trapped in here? I’m actually quite impressed! I don’t think there’s a simpler puzzle out there, and you’ve still broken it! Well sense I don’t intend to open the door, I guess you and this giant button just need to get cozy together. A dream for you, I’m sure. Enjoy -narrator The Stanley parable
This is how I understand it: If you stand on the edge of a portal and it is removed, you are pushed out. So by canceling (or replacing) your portal as you exit, you get an extra push.
2:23 you just broke the laws of physics (again) didn't you - just wait until the universe implodes....and AGAIN at 3:55. Bravo, although I was expecting you to grab the companion cube and take it with you through the door.
@ExileChan You got to time moving, turning, flicking upwards, jumping and releasing. If you get it right you can get it to go quite far. If you use the arial faith plate for momentum you only need to flick and release at the right time and it goes really far. I subscribed to your channel btw, i really like your chell video. The way you edited the audio to fit was really nice :)
OMG LOL I don't know why but this video just made me laugh. You're throwing the cube around like a bag boy that just doesn't care anymore LOL. And I love the "You have trapped yourself, congratulations!"
also a helpful hint, when your going into a portal,it auto corrects it,so if you veer too far to the left or too far to the right,if you stay still it guides you to the portal
@Person949 if you mean the part where he gains height by shooting the portal at the ground - if you shoot the portal the same color of the one you are entering, at the precise moment of the entering, the portal pushes you out so you dont get stuck and you gain speed and height. Do that a couple of times and you can get yourself pretty far up. Try it. It just takes practice. :) Sorry for my bad english but I hope you understood what I wanted to say. :)
*"you have Trapped yourself, Congratulations"* *"the Exit Door is now Open"* i didn't even knew that that was a Thing in the game! how awesome is that? :D
why do u have to make me feel like i fail at my most favorite game!?!? now i have to go try this............ your awesome and i bow down to your glory of portal 2 nerddom
We do not need CO2 (and there is only a small ammount of it in the air anyway). Oxygen is the only gas humans need to survive. However at atmospheric pressure we do need some dilutant. Nitrogen is the one found in the air but other gasses can work too (for example deep sea divers often use helium)
Yes, you should. You really won't be missing any story, because there's practically none in the first, but just because Portal spends a lot more time introducing and training the basic game mechanics than the second one does.
@piotrlysek I kept telling people that it was possible on PC but had no proof, until i checked out your vids/maps! Nice job. I shall be linking anyone else who says it's not possible on PC to your vid :)
"Congratulations! you have trapped yourself. the exit door is open." Wait what?? so all we have to do to exit is trap ourselves?? WTH man. i thought we were supposed to be solving the puzzles, not breaking them. On another note, these cube tricks are insane. twice, i caught myself saying, "wow, insane!" much awe and ♥ for this video. if you ever do a tutorial I will definitely watch. must! watch! again!
Well thank you, now I know how to get the get the cube on the button without touching it achievement. I wish there was one for all this AWESOMENESS though
also, the way he/she enters portals,he walked into a portal and he came out one on the floor at a great height, see what I mean,at 3:54 onwards you'd have to go faster than chell can walk to get to that height
I can't even begin to describe how epic that was. I rather watch a cube throwing montage over a FPS montage any day! How were you able to throw it so far? It seems like every time I try, it doesn't really go anywhere...
In the chamber at 1:49 i managed to bounce off a cube in mid-air and get so much height I landed on the tiniest lip sticking out of the wall where the surveillance room thing was.
I love how at 1:54, his/her friend comes online, so it makes it seem as if he/she got an achievement.
Sir. Anusface the 1st of Shitface Street
I agree
You are the MASTER of Portal 2
7 years ago. insane. i love this game and your video. brings me back

This should be made into an MLG montage.
it’s insane that it’s been 11 years since i’ve first seen this video. thank you for being a part of my childhood.
Here's an interesting fact, you are not breathing real air.
you are breathing your mom
1861 1861 your dumb your breathing your butt
Then im breathing vodka mmmmmmmm vodka
I feel ashamed for not experimenting *nearly* enough with these levels. You have my seal of approval.
you my friend...are epic
Gxgug
At first I thought the video would be about little Easter egg things you could do with the cubes, but when I saw the video, my jaw dropped.
You, sir, deserve a Nobel Prize from Aperture Science.
you sir….are a master teach us?
I know it has nothing to do with what the video shows us.
But at 3:27 the glados's voice is just so melodic and beautiful !
I thought this was terrible, then i realized console...
PerOculos aaayyye
love when he jumps of joy when making a good throw :)
#360cubescope
There are many ways to solve a puzzle. These just happen to be the most awesome.
Wtf you are a f*cking wizard
It's fairly straight forward to learn the basics. I found it easier to use than the other 3D programs i trialled. Lot's of guides on youtube, so it's fairly easy to get started.
The happy jumping at the end made it all much better.

Dude. Wow. All three videos so far are crazy awesome!
That flat on flaf portal exchanging acceleration technique is pretty damn impressive..

I love how spontaneous jumping in a game has become a form of celebration xD
amazing
1:54 "Here's an interesting fact. You are not breathing real air."
THEN WHAT THE FUCK AM I BREATHING??????
I like his happy jumping when he pulls a trick off
What's really amazing was that this was done using a controller.
1:54 ur not telling me he did all of this on xbox
2:23 you just broke the laws of physics (again) didn't you - just wait until the universe implodes....and AGAIN at 3:55. Bravo, although I was expecting you to grab the companion cube and take it with you through the door.
please do a speed run of all the chambers! or a tutorial on that jump height gaining thing
you shot the J my friend. Well done!!!

Wow, did not know you could boost velocity like that as you pass through portals.
OMG LOL I don't know why but this video just made me laugh. You're throwing the cube around like a bag boy that just doesn't care anymore LOL. And I love the "You have trapped yourself, congratulations!"
I thought I was good at Portal but this guy takes the "cake."
These are indeedly insane. And you are indeedly awesome.
also a helpful hint, when your going into a portal,it auto corrects it,so if you veer too far to the left or too far to the right,if you stay still it guides you to the portal
You sir, are a true hacker and a modern day scholar of fine arts!
I really need to learn to do what you did at 2:22, that could come in so handy.
yup. This truly shows how i barely have any patience to do something like this. lol
Pretty awesome tricking. I love this video. Nice job.
your speed and focus is so smooth its like reall life actionss :D its cool ass sand i want to pass this game again, best game evarr!!!!
So this is the guy who's topping the charts in the speed runs.

Brings a new meaning to 360 no scopes.

2:22 !?!?! its that possible?!?
maybe, this is the way how we had to pass portal 2
it seems easy and it would be extremely useful; then I tryed it but didn't work... =(
Major points for doing this with a 360 pad!
Yes, you should. You really won't be missing any story, because there's practically none in the first, but just because Portal spends a lot more time introducing and training the basic game mechanics than the second one does.

I can't even begin to describe how epic that was. I rather watch a cube throwing montage over a FPS montage any day!
