@TheBestGameIsSkyrim It's a triggered reaction parameter in the code. It's only activated if the player is in a set place at the time. The wall itself crumbling appears to be on a time delay and not at all related to triggers based on player location. In other words you stand by the glass he runs, you don't stand by the glass he doesn't.
@ChromesEdits It's GLaDOS. When Wheatley was gonna let you go, he took over GLaDOS's body so he could have control and let you leave. Then he became mad with power and threw you and GLaDOS down a hole. When you land, a bird take GLaDOS away, but you eventually meet up with her again and she helps you escape.
@eckopet117 Yes! In Chapter 2, Testchamber 7. Once you block off the laser with the cube, a panel of the wall opposite falls out and you can see Atlas pulling the panel back into the wall.
@ChromesEdits Because earlier, there was a room full of children's science experiments from Bring your daughter to work day (Including Chell's), and all but one were potato batteries. So Wheatley took one and put GLaDOS in it.
@Arriator To add that humans element, she needed to find a way for the robots to become more human-like, to the point where they were human enough so that results could be derived from the tests. And the results of The ASCDTest tell that ATLAS is brave and fearless willing to take on any challenge (More Male Like), while P-body is inquisitive ans Sensitive, examining the situation with care before proceeding (more Female Like) both value friendship. making them the ideal testing partners
@SuperGamersChannel Common mistake. They are both personality cores, except Atlas is modified. Robots can't be relatives. Fun fact, though: P-Body is a modified turret.
@Arriator Actually, P-Body is Female and ATLAS is a Male ATLAS having a Voice more like Man and P-Body more like a Female Also GLaDOS made them because she couldnt trust Humans anymore, however, she determined that te act of experimenting on and observing the results of robots performin various tests, as a robot herself, was fundamentally flawed, wich is likened to the famous thought of Schrödinfer's cat, thus she determined that for the test to mean anything, it needed a human observer.
@CatsoldierMan well, according to some other guys comment I saw somewhere, she just doesnt trust anyone at aperture and refuses to talk to them, which is the logical explanation to why we never see her talking
You are amazing at this game, the way you keep track of portal positions so naturally is really impressive. I couldn't tell what the fuck you were doing half the time :/
@KaroiTV I suppose they first made the map, then after some testing they found out about it and instead of changing it they simply made a way back instead. Doesnt ruin the game anyway ^^
@TCTechnoCat The PC version does have a save menu. Also, saying that the Mac is the best gaming platform ever because one game has a lack of a load menu on two of the four systems it was released on is sorta silly. Especially considering you still can't get any of the GoldSrc Half-Life games on Mac. Or, you know, the vast, vast majority of games ever released.
@13mygel Actualy your wrong, GLaDOS IS a girl and so is P-Body, I dont know exactly HOW you determine a robots gender, they just are because of the way they act, just like Wheatly and Atlas
@rimiolek Oh, if only that were possible... But the floor isn't made of white stuff, and the model would probably be programmed not to have any gravity anyway. :P
@xXWhatTheBrownXx srry i said that wrong, GLaDOS was a she. Robots dont have genders because they dont have a penis or vagina. They also dont reproduce. What the turrets where probably talking about you because you play as Chell, i never heard them say those dialogs when i played.
@BDraggy Umm...Just, y'know, putting it out there..But..Uhh...They're both voiced by the same person (Dee Bradley Baker). Idk what Valve said about dem genders, but all I know beyond that, is P-body is modelled after a Turret, while Atlas is modelled after a personality core. But, meh.
or...you could have console commanded it LIKE A BOSS use noclip to reach the "gay' robot that is really no gender and maybe he will go away. Then you can have fun and smash the god face screen.
Lets just leave it at there robots. I like playing as Atlas anyways. No matter how feminine or masculine they are there still robots and they don't have genders.
@xXWhatTheBrownXx ok but still robots are no gender. They can be defined as he's or she's by personalities but other than that they were built by man and are not organic so you sir have proved youself wrong!
Creator1: Voila! The level is done, complete with Easter Egg! Creator2: P-body? But what if the player gets across to it? Creator1: Bah, that's not gonna happen!
Actually P-Body has no gender, as they are a voiceless robot. Certainly, P-Body is more effeminate than Atlas, but that doesn't automatically qualify either of them for a gender.
yes, i noticed that the companion cube plays a little song as well, it's kind of cute actually. :p
@TheBestGameIsSkyrim It's a triggered reaction parameter in the code. It's only activated if the player is in a set place at the time. The wall itself crumbling appears to be on a time delay and not at all related to triggers based on player location. The "weird" version of still alive is the tune the radio plays.
Thoughts of P-body: "If I don't move, he can't see me"
Wheatly: "Yeah, I cant spawn him if you don't turn around."
2:16 P-body is like"Maybe if I stand still she'll go away"
@TDLBallistic P-Body is neither male or female. But if it HAD a gender. P-Body would probably be male.
@TheBoptop because hes playing on an xbox. if you notice the pause screen had a green "A" button and a red "B" button
@undisputed4life on my sound board its called "Samba Alive" (Samba version of "Still Alive")
I could listen to that music all day.
@SpookerstheSpoo
Co-op takes place AFTER the singleplayer. You don't meet any characters but GladOs.
@ChromesEdits Because earlier, there was a room full of children's science experiments from Bring your daughter to work day (Including Chell's), and all but one were potato batteries. So Wheatley took one and put GLaDOS in it.
@BDraggy I always thought they were bopth male because of the hug
Atlas: I wuv u buddy...
P-Body: Oooookaaaaay....
Well rendered, I must say!
@Arriator
To add that humans element, she needed to find a way for the robots to become more human-like, to the point where they were human enough so that results could be derived from the tests.
And the results of The ASCDTest tell that ATLAS is brave and fearless willing to take on any challenge (More Male Like), while P-body is inquisitive ans Sensitive, examining the situation with care before proceeding (more Female Like) both value friendship. making them the ideal testing partners
@BDraggy also,P-body is a modified Turret and all turrets are female wereas atlas is a modified morality core which are all male
@SuperGamersChannel Common mistake. They are both personality cores, except Atlas is modified. Robots can't be relatives. Fun fact, though: P-Body is a modified turret.
@Arriator its called he shot the first one by mistake or something. if he shot his blue one he wouldnt be able to get to the other side
derp
i love this vid plz show more p2 (portal 2) glitches and other cool tricks
@Woodlanderivitive Nah that might have been Wheatley. He does tend to pop up throughout the Chambers as you progress.
That music is my ringtone (for real)
P-Body froze in fear at the sight of Chell, I guess.
@Arriator
Actually, P-Body is Female and ATLAS is a Male
ATLAS having a Voice more like Man and P-Body more like a Female
Also GLaDOS made them because she couldnt trust Humans anymore, however, she determined that te act of experimenting on and observing the results of robots performin various tests, as a robot herself, was fundamentally flawed, wich is likened to the famous thought of Schrödinfer's cat, thus she determined that for the test to mean anything, it needed a human observer.
@DarrellThody that glitch is also in this video. go to 0:40
i can listen to that music forever
@CatsoldierMan well, according to some other guys comment I saw somewhere, she just doesnt trust anyone at aperture and refuses to talk to them, which is the logical explanation to why we never see her talking
@ThatOneDiabeticDude Finally someone who understands!
Oh, so this is like G-Man, but Valve figured out a way to make it less creepy... Brilliant
You are amazing at this game, the way you keep track of portal positions so naturally is really impressive. I couldn't tell what the fuck you were doing half the time :/
@CakeLier Uh, you can see p-body everywhere. The video wasn't about how P-body looks.
@TCTechnoCat what you talkin bout? you dont have to go back to the main menu. if you pay attention you can load an old save after pausing it.
BTW - the breaking of Wheatly's screen doesn't glitch him making the exit on the PC.
@DragonFlyMKW at the end they are both at GlaDOS' "lair"
He despawns after he enters the door, for those that are curious.
I just noclpped around during my second playthrough.
@810demious Personification or not, if they seem more female, they are classified in the feminine group.
and this is the song my mind plays when im being lectured at
@PhoenixDive Lol ADHD IS an attention disorder. But I get your point. It's annoying as hell.
i smashed the tv as soon as i went in the chamber, few seconds later the alarms went off and the exit opened (xbox 360)
@xXWhatTheBrownXx You won nothing but a pointless argument. Even if you did win that would mean i won too. So a big happy face to both of us.
@KaroiTV I suppose they first made the map, then after some testing they found out about it and instead of changing it they simply made a way back instead. Doesnt ruin the game anyway ^^
P-Body: If I don't move... she cant see me
Chell: ... *goes back into test chamber*
P-Body: Ima run for it! *comical cartoon run*
@legosas11 P-Body has the feminine role / appearance of the co-op partners. Atlas has a more masculine role / appearance
@legosas11 what they mean is that P-body is definitively feminine compared to Atlas.
Lok shes like don't move and the human won't see you...
@13mygel Actualy your wrong, GLaDOS IS a girl and so is P-Body, I dont know exactly HOW you determine a robots gender, they just are because of the way they act, just like Wheatly and Atlas
@waterdragon1908 no, robots don't have a sex but you can assign them genders just like how we call boats "she"
@rimiolek Oh, if only that were possible... But the floor isn't made of white stuff, and the model would probably be programmed not to have any gravity anyway. :P
@legosas11 Well they mean P-Body is more Femnine and Atlas is more Masculine, which is true.
@xXWhatTheBrownXx srry i said that wrong, GLaDOS was a she. Robots dont have genders because they dont have a penis or vagina. They also dont reproduce. What the turrets where probably talking about you because you play as Chell, i never heard them say those dialogs when i played.

@legosas11 Yes, but robots can be classified as "masculine" or "feminine"
In chamber 7 with the companion cube, im pretty sure i saw atlas in the tiles as they were changing.
@DoritoWolf
Good to know. Thanks for replying!
@jmcke47 dont listen to everyone saying he changed the portal
its the propulsion gell dispenser
@raymaster56 well, it's feminine and yeah i saw the videos about p-body and atlas
or...you could have console commanded it LIKE A BOSS use noclip to reach the "gay' robot that is really no gender and maybe he will go away. Then you can have fun and smash the god face screen.
oh, I knew I saw something up there
Lets just leave it at there robots. I like playing as Atlas anyways. No matter how feminine or masculine they are there still robots and they don't have genders.
We're not spelling potato. :|
We're spelling what GLaDOS's name is when she's in potato form. We're all well aware of how potato is normally spelled.
I saw him, had no idea what it was! I thought I was hallucinating!
If you look at the P-body(you did not go to his area), he will be just like HOLY SHIT!
hes like
"if i stand still, she'll go away"
@tufting13 no it was the speed gell and an orange portal my friend
the song is a party version of still alive!!! i miss that song T.T
I dont know about you guys,but I think that if you make a portal clip of any kind, you must use this music.
lol "wheatley laboratories" :D
@xXWhatTheBrownXx actually, glados is an AI, just saying, because she was transferred into a potato.
haha! awesome! thanks for the vid. ^^
if you stand still and back away p body stays there for a few minutes.
@Sindrio2 He must've mistaken Chell for a frog.
@MrNiconiconico Nor could she. She is a mute. XP
@onewingedmemory It was Wheathley obviously
@BDraggy
Actually, their both robots :3
I said annoyingly LOUD. Not simply "annoying music". You guys really should read more into the details of other people's comments.
I did this by mistake going for Smash Tv :P It was pretty cool actually. First glitch I ever found in the game
I wonder if P-Body would run away if you were over there and zoomed in on him/her.
@PyroTails Nothing, its just a model.
@gabrocki macs are fine, just stick with that
P-body is like "If i stand still maybe she will go away."
@xXWhatTheBrownXx ok but still robots are no gender. They can be defined as he's or she's by personalities but other than that they were built by man and are not organic so you sir have proved youself wrong!
@BDraggy they are robots and are not male or female
You've blinded me, with your science.
@undisputed4life Actually its from first portal.
It's a well known fact that test subjects' vision is based on movement. Obviously, P-Body knows this.
@rerere284 that isn't a portal, its the orange gel tube
@BDraggy Uhh.. You mean to say, P-body is more feminine, and Atlas is masculine, since robots can be male or female...
@legosas11 GLaDOS is Caroline.
Creator1: Voila! The level is done, complete with Easter Egg!
Creator2: P-body? But what if the player gets across to it?
Creator1: Bah, that's not gonna happen!
Weatly knows how to teleport things cool
Lol. pause at 0:26. It's actually Atlas.
@Oxygen97 Don't remember that I ever saw him. Sorry, man.
I think of P-body and Atlas as Pinky and the Brain.
@ChromesEdits Its glad0s play the campign to figure out why
@likitty20 P-Body is a ROBOT, just like Atlas. Neither one is a girl or a boy. GET OVER IT!
Actually P-Body has no gender, as they are a voiceless robot.
Certainly, P-Body is more effeminate than Atlas, but that doesn't automatically qualify either of them for a gender.
@ThatOneDiabeticDude
I couldn't class P-Body as female though, effeminate maybe, but still male.
@onewingedmemory I think it was Wheatley...
