Preach it Alisa. We've been fed a pack of lies & deception. There is no prosperity gospel in the Bible. If it were, do you think the disciples would have suffered the things they did because they had incredible faith in Jesus. Doesn't add up to the stuff preached in many churches today & on Christian TV.

One of the things that really bothers me about the teaching that God heals and naterially prospers everyone if they just have faith is that there are Christians all throughout history and the world over who have tremendous faith and yet have all suffered and died! And what about those who are alive now suffering physical disablilities, horrible poverty and persecution, how can we say they don't have faith? That's all they have, in many cases! And they relentlessly pursue Christ and do His will! It is shameful that anyone could judge them as having no faith!

What’s this bigger kingdom of God? Is it a future dream? Or is the kingdom nigh ( now) as Jesus said! That is the heresy to teach people when they are dead they will be free of suffering. Christ said the kingdom is within, God is not the God of the dead but the living! Knowing Christ in you now, the hope of glory

Kudos to the Christians who have stayed faithful to the Lord after having woken up to what's true & what's not; God only knows how many others' faith has suffered shipwreck from insufficient knowledge of or inaccurate interpretation of the New Testament scriptures. In my experience, the Old Testament & the book of Acts are the 2 most misused & misunderstood volumes of Holy Writ. I would also submit that someone who knows history is perhaps in a better position to properly understand God's Word & will for the Christian believer.

  • @dodgyphilisopher9905

True. The word for affliction is basically misery. We are always going to be in misery as true believers. The one thing a true believe wants is a world where everyone loves God and knows him so we don't have to preach about knowing him. But since we are not in that world of course we are going be in misery because watching people who literally think they believe but actually have no clue that they are blinded is extremely depressing. Especially when you can still see the potential in them, yet they deny the very Power of the God they "Claim' to believe in. But I will say this, if anyone thinks that God would not bless someone with money they are playing themselves. I would say this, everyone should at least at some time in their life go sleep on the street and be homeless. Just to see what it's like. I once got kicked out from a church I was behind because it was the only place the meth heads wouldn't go. Yeah churches are friendly to the holy spirit today for sure. You know that voice that the Bible says is isolated and alone crying from the wilderness. Yeah that spirit everyone says they love until you talk to it.

Another lie I've heard is that sharing our faith with anyone in any way is and I quote, "shoving your religion down our throats." It's designed to render us fearful of turning people away from Jesus, but it's a complete lie.

  • @ExodusPrime-x5h
    @ExodusPrime-x5h Рік тому

Literally read Ephesians today, and it's so clear in the multiple occurrences of inheritance that it's not an inheritance in this life. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is so that we love God, 1 Peter 1:2 shows that the purpose of the Spirit is towards obedience to Jesus. 2 John indicates that love is that we do what Jesus commanded, to love one another. Jesus himself said that if we love him, we will follow his commands being amongst others that we love God and love others.
Nowhere in the new testament does it talk about this being your best life now. You get to live this life fully knowing you are a child of God and will dwell with him for eternity.

I think there is a misunderstanding here, when certain preachers are criticised when they are preaching the so called “prosperity gospel”. I don’t think they are saying you won’t have troubles, well at least in my church. Yes you’re right by saying there will be trials.
The gospel is good news, it’s not sad news. Jesus came to save, I do not think it stops at being just saved for eternal life. There are many scriptures to me that shows God wants us to prosper. Even when you think of heaven, it’s extravagant from what I hear, streets paved with gold. There are no sick people there, God’s word says I am healed therefore I believe His word! May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven! It’s a journey, so yes the weapon may form but it will not prosper.
God is a good God, He wants the best for us. But then we live in a world with humans and satan, so that in itself shows of course that there will be opposition for every word God has spoken. Book of Job is a good example, he had the hedge of protection however when it was removed all sorts happened. But in the end God prospered him even more.
People don’t realise prosperity comes with problems also. It’s a big responsibility to be in position of wealth, influence and of power, it’s also a threat to the enemy. Just as well as a praying grandma, we all have assignments that’s why the Bible talks about great and small. Do you think the enemy will just sit back and let God’s people take territory and dominion? Prosperity is no joke, that’s why the children of Israel took the long journey that God could have shortened all because God knew they would fear the adversity.

Some people in the bible didn't end like job did. Prosperity gospel is the reason you only know about the story of those like job but have not dwelt on the ones that God did not deliver on this side of eternity. Paul talked about those that were slain, cut in two in the name of the gospel, and talks to others who were ill and suffering illnesses and he didn't tell them as Christians they're meant to be in good health as that's why Jesus died. In fact Paul was left with some kind of illness because God wanted to show him that he was enough.
It is not that God is not a good God, it is that when God doesn't say yes to a prayer, people abandon him because they have been taught that he is a good God because he blesses people with material wealth and health.
Prosperity gospel talks about Jesus saying you will suffer (truth is mixed in) and it promises you deliverance here on earth at all costs. There are different variations, some say it as she says, when you suffer they say it's because you sinned or didn't give enough because Christians aren't meant to suffer.
"Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses."
      1 Timothy 5:23
"And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawn in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and ill-treated - the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect."
      Hebrews 11:32‭-‬40

@@daisiesandpandas1218 yes some people of the Bible, like Samson who had his eyes pulled out or the disciples were martyrs being killed in their faith. Even today some counties like China have to hide underground to have church together. Yes there is suffering at times, I am not denying that. But it does not mean we should not be prospering either. I truly believe in a wholeness life, shalom nothing missing nothing broken. Even in the trial to have His peace and be content.
But yes even Jesus suffered on the cross and went through many things. But He put all His confidence in God the Father. But I am amazed by God as He protected a lot of His people from death. E.g Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego or Apostle John boiled in oil but it did not scath him. Anyway my church we believe in having wholeness but at the same time my pastor also emphasises that trials will come also. Every word of God we choose to believe will be contested.

And even when they preach that Jesus said "you wil have trials" these churches promise you that God will deliver you here on earth, at all costs as its your right as a Christian judt claim it and recieve it".. They use only the stories of those that were blessed after they suffered, they don't, like paul did, give you the two sides. Those who were delivered from their suffering here And those who were not.
" And what more shall I say? The kinds of people that have such low critical thinking skills and believe all sorts of stupid stuff have a much bigger problem than just being rebuked by some other Christian.
