In the french version of the game, the village is named "Village d'Elimith" which can be read like "Village des limites". It means village of the limits.
Same thing for the Tarrey town. In french it's name Village d'Euzero, which is like Village "from zero ". I love those puns and I find it sad that there isn't any wordplay like this in the english version. Or maybe there is for those village but i don't get it ^^'

Counting down the days to the apocalypse which is pretty negative but that's besides the point. I'm convinced that house you buy used to be Link's house or atleast his Father's house. Like think about it:
Bolson (the guy who was tearing it down) mentioned the house had been abandoned for years and years. In other villages, no house is just "empty" it always belongs to someone. I'm thinking that the house used to belong to either Link or Link's Father 100 years ago. But when the Calmity happened, Link got put in the shrine of ressurection and his father mostly likely died. And in the dialouge options you can choose, Link seemed pretty eager to buy the house himself. "I can buy it!" "I'll pay!" It's like Link remembered subconsciously that THIS was his home!
In the final memory you have to discover in that Memory Quest, they were running toward Fort Hateno. I'm guessing that in the panic of trying to find a safe place for Zelda, Link thought of bringing her to Hateno Village. If you look at the map, Hateno is quite a ways away from Hyrule Castle. In his panic, his first instinct was to go home but he never made it because the Guardians were too quick and got their either before or at the same time as them while they were chasing them.

I fell in love with so many Game OST before but man... this one hit me right in the feels
It's hard to describe why but it just feels like home... it feels returning home after a long tiring journey, just laying in your bed and relaxing, the sun is shining on your face and you have no care or worry in the world. Whenever I hear this song tears come to my eyes, it's so beautiful yet has something melancholic to it.
Whatever hardship you may be going through remember you're not alone. You may feel like you've lost everything, but remember that tomorrow is another day, the sun might shine brighter than it did before.
Don't give up hope that the good days will come back, sometimes you feel like the world is just clouds and rain, but that's part of life, part of change, and like such, eventually they will fade away and the sky will be clear again.

Sometimes I will go to Hateno just to walk around and listen to the music and enjoy the scenery. Idk why but it’s probably my favorite thing to do in the game. It feels so familiar. Like home. The first time I heard it I was nostalgic for it even though I hadn’t ever heard it before. Crazy how that can happen.

after maybe a month of playing i was contemplating on finally ending my quest "why ever stop? look at this beautiful village, look at the children playing.. there should never be a reason to stop, to end this game" i walked about until the sun was setting. i sat atop my favourite spot, the flag pole just standing there still on the border of hateno village. i thought to myself "what could be better than this, why would i ever wanna go to that stupid castle" but then i looked to the sky, a moon red as blood, slowly creeping over the village, suffocating ash filling the air. i knew then, it was time to fight.

I don't know why this theme is so cute, brilliant tone for a little villiage

This is my favourite village theme of the game. So lovely and relaxing and homely. Probably the village I'll choose to live in if I was actually living in Hyrule.

I think this was the first song that made me feel at home with this game. And it opened me up more to the great music that comes as well!
I love how it mixes both day and night together, and it captures the fullness of this song.
