As someone whos worked at blue for the last 7yrs i so wish they would bring this back. Down Hill is an essential part of the summer season
We keep hoping they'll bring the bike park back one day. Blue Mountain played a huge role in our mtb journey. Fingers crossed. 🤞

He is pretty funny. He's our own "Bobo." Lol. Yeah, a tow would help. I keep hitting the brakes before each jump out of fear. You can literally hear my brakes in the video, otherwise I'd probably clear them. We're working on it. Every month, we get closer and closer. Thanks for the encouragement. 😅

That is so interesting that you have to take an assessment to ride the black/double black trails. I haven't seen that before. I guess each state and bike park differ.. Duke, Cory is doing great! she inspires me! your riding as well. I can tell how much you both love to ride...Yeeeewwwww. Cool video as always, and funny.
🤣😂 They're actually a Black and a Double black trail. It's just for those 2 jump trails. The jumps are much larger in person than the footage suggests. They started the requirement after someone flew off a cliff on a jump and ended up paralyzed. It seems reasonable enough. I wouldn't want someone that doesn't even know the basics on those trails. Casing the jumps is one thing, but not being in control at all is another. And thanks, glad you enjoyed the vid. Cory really is the coolest. 😅

😅 Hehe, sorry to disappoint. We're from Michigan, so we go to 'Blue' in Ontario a lot. Only a 4 hour drive from us. We'll definitely check out Blue Mountain in Pennsylvania at some point though. 😁
The Duke of MTB I got it mixed up with Blue KNOB which doesn’t even have a bike park... hence the excitement.

I'm sure there's one not too far from you. This park is a four hour drive from us. We try to do a couple day trips a month during the DH season.
The nearest DH mt is about 4 hours so the same. No real jump line there though. Just crazy DH. CA, UT, CO do though 🤙

I was happy to watch this. Ive never been to a bike park. In fact, my bikes would look kind of silly there being just a hard tail and a full suspension fat bike. I'd still give this a shot though even just to roll things.
Theres a park called Blue Mountain in Pennsylvania which is how I ended up here. Glad I did though.
What do you use for the subtitles.. they're pretty cool.
Glad you found the channel. I've seen a few folks send it at the bike park with aggressive hardtails. It's definitely doable. We also have a video at Seven Springs in PA. Anyway, I do the subtitles by hand in Premiere Pro. I keep a template of the moving one so I can just copy/paste it as I go. Then I tweak it a little here and there. It's a tedious process but my videos don't feel complete without them.
nah bud, you will be all good. I ride a 24" BMX at Blue and Horseshoe. Your bike would have no issue.

Found it on Amazon. It's the Alpinestar Bionic moto chest protector. The shoulders are removable. It's very good. Not too heavy or restrictive. I forget I'm even wearing it on DH days.

the Punisher yessir! That’s me! Yeah, I figured if I’m going to do it, do it right. Whether I survive or not lol. Plus, to me it made more sense on a comfort level to hit the whole thing and not cut off 1/2 way at a weird angle.

It's just that one drop and tabletop that Craig did in this video. That's all you need to do for them to allow you access to the jump trails.

What are your recommendations for a new XT 12 speed 1x setup. What chainring size and what cassette 10-45 or 10-51?
I'd personally go for the bigger range. On my 11 speed cassette, I use a 30t oval chainring, but with the 10-51, I'd probably go with a 32 or even a 34. Of course, this is all based on my own preferences and fitness level. If you are an XC god with elite level fitness, you might want to run a 40+ chainring. Haha

Especially since you still have the 51t to bail you out on tough climbs. I run a 30 because I'm still running an 11 speed. Easier on the climbs but I lose the harder gearing for the flats and descents.
I have a question,is blue mountain open all year around if not then is it open in this month ?
It's open from May to October I believe.
Technically they're open year round, but they're a ski resort first, bike park second. Here's hoping they're open next year as this year is my first year mountain biking!

Note yet. Sadly, we can't cross the border over to Canada this year. It might be a while before we get to try Horseshoe. 😅

@@danielb8373Unfortunately, this bike park closed a few years back. Honestly, the assessment wasn't really necessary. I think they were being overly cautious for insurance reasons.

lol. He definitely didn't clear it, but they're just looking to see that he at least goes in a straight line. I think he did alright on "H20" later that day. Too bad this bike park closed. I'd love to go back to see how far we progressed in the past couple years. This footage was shot sometime in mid 2019.
Since Blue Mountain is too lame to have DH mountain biking these days, they should take down all vids that say otherwise!!
