It was awesome riding with you Toogy it was such a fun day I wish I had more in me. The gentlemen changing his tire on the side of the trail says everything about the shale here!
I like your videos because they’re relatable to me. Not these pros doing huge gaps and drops that I’ll never do. Thanks! Going to check out a couple places you’ve shown for next year. 🤘🏼
Nice collaboration. Nice to see how this version of the cycling community is so supportive. Guys connecting through video and riding together is a cool thing. Thanks.
Rob I would agree, no matter the "skill" of the other riders, It's REALLY nice to see people slow down for the not as skilled and help them enjoy the ride together. Then it's ok as Toogy did go off and enjoy at his own pace. But I really liked how he slowed down and waited for Fat Guy Riding to catch up. (i'm sorry i don't know his name just his channel) . But great colab! It was fun to see the trail even if he did fall 3-4 times. I'm a Big guy myself who rides and lives in PA.. it's fun to see you guys tackling these parks and what i can aspire to do someday!
You did really well for your first time here....It was cool you came to check it out. Being local and having a season pass here, I recommend avoiding these words if you ever bike here again. Rock, rocks, rocky, rock garden or shale.....Thanks in advance...
Glad to see you both had a good time at Blue. A lot of maintenance goes into our trails. Anything black is meant to be all natural so we don’t pick out rocks. We just let Mother Nature do her thing. Next year we will hopefully have our new actual beginner trail done. Hope to see you again!
Nice Job Toggy ! Sorry that I was going too fast I should slow down a bit more and be more helpful showing you the trails. It was nice riding with you guys!
Hey Dany! you where an awesome guide, I was glad we ran into you on the lift! I thought you where great, you would stop to make sure we didn't get too far behind and told us what to expect on the trail ahead. Thanks again!
Blue Mountain Bike park is such a blast already went twice this year going again a 3rd time in a few weeks. You should come back again . They changed some of the trails for the better.
You handled the trails nicely! I think some of those trails must have been sponsored by Fox or Rockshox because you'll need servicing or upgrades afterwards.
Look at you just flying over jumps catching air. So inspiring lol. I was at the other blue mountain last weekend. What an awesome day it was and only 1 small crash haha.
Larger OD grips saved my hands this season, at least from the vibration through the bars...going OTB doesn’t help however catching shale. Beginning of the season at Blue is phenomenally better, unfortunate weather degradation through out the season turns it to an extra challenge by September. Great video, shame I missed this weekend
This park is crazy. Great job riding! I always end up crashing hard at some point when I ride there. It's my local park so I guess I'll just have to go back and conquer it all at eventually
IT's almost like on some of those Black Diamond or even Blue courses they need to Rake all the Loose Gravel off the course so that it's safer. All that Loose stuff on the course seems very dangerous in general but just "not fun" to deal with.
You guys did a great job, luckily you and Robert didn't do too much damage to yourselfs because that looked like the place for that type of thing to happen!
If you’re having so much trouble with easier trails have you ever tried using a downhill bike at the parks and did it make it any better for you if you did try it? If not you should try it and maybe it’ll boost your confidence and allow you to ride more trails or hit more features while going faster. It helped some new riders that I know
Looks like a good day. Personally, I am not huge fan of loose pebbly stuff like that, its what Jiminy Peak is like too but ill still check this place out sometime
Here in Colorado all Downhill bike parks are not the same. The one you guys are riding in PA is not Groomed at all. The whole video you guys were putting your bikes and bodies through ROCKY HELL. Geeez my arm would have fell off. Here Trestle Bike Park is well groomed. But Keystone Bike Park is very rocky. Groomed Downhill Bike Parks are a lot more FUN I say.
Nice to see real world bikes and regular guys riding! Hmm, maybe I'm off but since most trails seemed to give your arms and hands a good workout perhaps experimenting with the fork pressure and rebound setting to allow it to take more of the chatter and hits? Also, you guys are probably tense so that stops the blood flowing as well. I know testing different settings and goin the same short (~1min) but varied trail stretcha can really help you dial the available support your fork has, it did for me learning DH on my -18 Roscoe 9. Having a basic Recon 120 makes it even more important to get the sag and rebound right. And don't for get to clean and lube those legs and o-rings (silicone spray works for me) to avoid any stickiness!
Yes. You don't need lessons. Best if you could find somebody to guide, but most places have full face helmets along with full protective gear so you'll be safe. They also rent full suspension downhill bikes you could rent if you don't have your own. All in the cost is approx $150 including rental, lift ticket and gear. Trails are clearly marked so you'll be able to take the green trails and progress as you get comfortable. If you do decide on a lesson, I'd actually recommend taking one your 2nd or even 3rd time going. Whether you take a lesson or not, it's gonna take a few runs just to get comfortable. If you're paying for a lesson, no need to waste it on basic stuff you'll figure out regardless. Ride a few days, then your lesson will be how to take berms or jumps and stuff like that.
@@GoodTrails I mean you SHRED on it, but is it enough bike for the amount of parks I do ride?? I'm liking the new Giant Reign 29, but the stumpy is solid for sure!!
hard to say for sure, there are aspects of each I like & dislike! Blue in Collingwood is great, except the ride across the top and the collector can get pretty tedious and also the trails being so weather dependent. Blue in PA is also super gnarly, but maybe a bit too much gnar haha. Can't go wrong with either place though
Hey I have a giant talon 2. It’s more if an xc budget hard tail but my riding skills are decent. I can definitely upgrade skill wise but dont have the cash. I feel like im asking a question I know the answer to but.. bad idea to take the talon to this park? Its stock
I would not recommend this place for anybody. It's pretty advanced, even the "easy" stuff. Wear pads, run good puncture-resistant tires, keep your body away from the ground.
It was awesome riding with you Toogy it was such a fun day I wish I had more in me. The gentlemen changing his tire on the side of the trail says everything about the shale here!
Same man! Yeah so much rock! And loose shale like you said!
I love seeing my home trails in peoples videos!
It’s a great place!
Cool

I would love to come back down there once the border opens up and I'm fully healed!
You boys need to start mountain biking to shed them guts lol.
Yeh, that place is rocky!!
You handled the trails nicely! I think some of those trails must have been sponsored by Fox or Rockshox because you'll need servicing or upgrades afterwards.
yeah there was rocks everywhere! haha
Looks like a lot of fun! That Chunkernickle and Mile of Smiles look right up my alley, of course everything is more intimidating in person. 🤷🏼♀️
It certainly is!! GoPro makes everything seem easy lol
Looks like every trail I've ridden in PA lmao. They aren't rock gardens. That's just the trails we have here
That must be awesome if all trails are like that!
Look at you just flying over jumps catching air. So inspiring lol. I was at the other blue mountain last weekend. What an awesome day it was and only 1 small crash haha.
I'm hoping to go to Blue Mountain up here tomorrow, but the weather forecast isn't looking good right now!
Nice Ride and to See both in the track is really cool.
Wish you all the best and Big support from germany ✌😉👍

It was alright, I kinda like the rawness of it, groomed trails are fun, but so are the raw gnarly ones!
From Robs channel 🙋🏻♂️ New subscriber and fan here. Great ride guys.
Welcome to the channel James!!
Great to see a different perspective
Nice! Looking to try this place out sometime soon!
It’s sick! Hoping I can return this year!
your approving every video !! great job
Thanks Lucas!

Is it safe to go mountain biking for first time without any lessons

Cool video! The area is Palmerton, PA. Only reason I know is bc I live nearby.
Very cool place, I'll be back!
Getting more and more confortable on the drops I see! I'm sure you had the second drop at 11:40
Maybe , it looked way more intimidating in real life lol
you were rippin at the end there bud. It might be time to consider a DH bike with all the park you have been riding!
I've thought about it! But I also want to do some more enduro stuff next year and think a LT 29er is the ticket!!
@@ToogyHowser Have you thought of a brand/model yet?
Get a stumpy! I can put in a good word for you and maybe get you the same deal I got!

2018 giant reign 2
So which blue mountain do you prefer? haha

Do you need a special bike for this ? Could my Trek mountain bike work? Lol
What model do you have?
Could these trails be done on a hardtail bike?
They could but I don’t think you’d have any fun lol
You are lucky Robert still calls you a friend after what you put him through.

You think i can ride this bike park with my Diamondback Sync’r HT?
sure!

I would think so yes
hit the rock drop on ocs!!!
Next time! .... maybe lol
Do you think I would be able to do any of the trails here on a hardtail 29er?
I don’t know man. It’s pretty rough there, even their green trail was very rocky and rough!
@@ToogyHowser Thanks for the response man. Maybe I will wait till I upgrade my bike down the road.
Just so people know the boulevard got changed to a blue
do you have stickers we could buy ?
Can u go there if u -18?
I reckon a Roscoe would clean that up
The Roscoe or any hardtail would be brutal here!! it was one of the roughest places I've ridden
The ride. Is so much better on downhill bikes than it is on enduro bikes
Yes I can imagine haha
Toogy Howser MTB next time u go u should rent a dh bike and try it
