- I took the train up the north end of the Toronto to ride 3 mountain bike networks I have never been before. It was a fun day exploring the network.

awesome video, this is definitely an overlooked little set of trails. Portuguese lunchbox is one of my favourites. When you turned up the hill to backyard ridge to go to 401 flow, you actually missed a more fun trail that stays along the river, and as others have mentioned, Addington Greenbelt is one of the most fun in the area too.
I can see you being a big name in the MTB UA-cam scene in the years to come as you are already great and I’m sure you will get even better from ur 1,200 subscriber keep it up👍

Thank you for featuring my home trail, West Don Parkland. Maybe you can consider going back coz u missed more areas in there, just message me, I'll accompany you. There are lot's of work to be done, there are only few guys (including myself) taking care of the trails.

Wanted to get into both road and mountain biking. I was didn't know these trails existed and only knew of trails outside of the GTA, like Hardwood, Blue Mountain, etc. I've ran through some of the trails in G Ross Lord and Earl Bales and wondered if they were suitable for MTB. It's good to know that they're are some urban trails relatively close to where I live!

The trail look like an area not many people walk or ride on....very nice scenery. Never enjoyed living or riding in Toronto. Was too busy for my liking. Try coming down to Fonthill, Shorthills and Bruce trails area after the pandemic. You'll enjoy the vibe..
Hey Joe, yep this area is much less busy. I grew up in Niagara so I am very familiar with those trails!

Great video!! I've only been in the Don once for a short time. Plan on spending a full day in the area.
The main network has way more trails - but these ones are good too. I would reccomend the main network tho as there is many days worth of stuff in there.

Hey man, love ALL your videos, modest cool guy riding the ol' bike. Love your interest in the scenery. By the way, the "bamboo shoot" might be an invasive plant from Asia, like Japanese knotweed en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynoutria_japonica . I could be wrong, but if you ever do see knotweed, it's fine to pull out to make room for native plants. P.S. - Goats and sheep love to eat it

What is your source of looking for trails?
I use Trailforks - but I tried to keep my phone put away on this particular ride. You only get to ride a trail network for the first time once.

Good Trails On Trailforks the downhill trail is called Jtrain and the small jump park is at the bottom Addington Greenbelt ravine

@@GoodTrails Never been actually, I only started riding seriously this season. I'm going to "Sentiers de l'Abbaye d’Oka" and it's plenty enough for now, until I'm more confident to do something like Bromont
I have been to Bromont and it is legit. I have only driven by Trivelo and it looks big.

In Southern Ontario, it's only Blue, Horseshoe and Waterdown has some stuff.. if you're willing to drive take a look at Whiteface Mtn in New York, I have a video for that one coming

I don’t live in the GTA anymore. Check out “Andre Laurent MTB” on UA-cam. He makes good videos all around the GTA and posts frequently.

@@GoodTrails u have to exit the dam and head to the picnic station part of the park and you'll see an entrance beside the washroom station close to the soccer fields. it won't be hard to find I think

@@GoodTrails There are some good down hill runs, and trails by Magwood Park that are not on trail forks. One trail has some pretty good down hill flow but its off the main magwood trail.
That vegetation is snake grass along the side of the trails
nice! I was hoping someone would answer that. I have been trying to learn more about types of vegetation and trees.
@@GoodTrails It's more commonly known as 'Rough Horsetail' or 'Scouring Rush' in Ontario. Snake grass is what they call it in other countries

Could the bamboo looking plant be Japanese knotweed? It is all over the Don, but when it grows tall you would never know. in the spring it would look like bamboo before it starts growing back.

If you enter right from Stoufville Rd and Bridgewater Dr and head north for a bit you'll hit a fun jump on a hill that I went back and did at least 20 times before I moved on to the rest.
Thanks dude! I was there a couple of years ago. Videos is called Jefferson Forrest I think. But, I would like to go there again. It's a big place and I didn't explore the whole area.
