Definitely definitely burned in situ . Coz I’m no expert, but il give my thoughts lol
let's get this s*** moving
The button in episode 23 is a Napoleonic royal navy button for an officer ranked master from the 1812 period.
3 things i still dont understand and have tried to contact them(brothers) but never a response. main--why dig where they are digging when theres no hope of really finding anything.
I would love to see a map indicating where all of the artifacts have been found. I think that would be really interesting. I don’t comment often but I’ve been a dedicated fan since season one. I love the show, I love the history, I love the people on the show, and I love the mystery. I’m still hooked!
Brilliant Comment All The Best Of Health And Happiness To You As Well.
Me also.
Best television program. Wish I had known about it from season one. I would really like for them to find something grand to reward them for their hard work and perseverance. Nice to read an intelligent comment. Thanks.
I read about Oak island back in the early 1970's and have been fascinated ever since. Of course, I think a lot of this show is just that...for show and to create and keep an audience. But, without an audience there would be no sponsors, no sponsors, no show so I get that. Aside from the manufactured drama, I find it fascinating and very interesting as well. I think they really have found some very significant artifacts thus far. Maybe the treasure is gone. Maybe it was never there? Either way...I think I am hooked and will follow it until they find it, or get cancelled.
The shipwreck is in the swamp along with the ring bolts.
They're going to stretch this out longer than a bad marriage 😳🙄🤔
Why is this true and does anyone know a good lawyer to get my kids?
Something tells me that the treasure is gone, and the people who found it left this stuff behind to troll them.😂
That Drayton guy sure knows how to string those boys along.
I feel like he plants it cause he's getting paid bank and he's always the one to find stuff .
Metal detection expert gary drayton
This whole series from day one has strung everyone along!!! Cash grab for the History Channel.
“I’ve never dug a hole mate” Gary
Once "No Dig Drayson" starts digging
You know that the show is ending
That gladness in Drayton's face in thumbnail was enough for realizing that's a BIG POCKET FIND!
The metal bolt likely ended up there when the South Sea Company had a tar kiln and logging operation on the island from 1720 and 1722. The cobblestone road likely was installed so oxen could drag trees to the woodyard, to waiting ships and to the tar kilns without the road becoming a muddy trench. Unlike in Britain, virgin forests in North America were being harvested, so tools and structures made from the heartwood of a 100 to 200 year old tree would generate Carbon-14 dates a 100 to 200 years before 1720-1722. The date is when the wood grew, not the date the tool or structure it was turned into.
@lola Blakeslee Then there is the mysterious ship shaped item which could easily be accessed, but they haven't done so, because that would premeturly spoil things. It is likely just a mud deposit when sea level was lower during the last ice age.
Every week I watch it ... every week I swear it off! But, I'm still watching:(
OH MY GOD!! A BOLT??? Whooo hooo! What a SIGNIFICANT find!!! Stop the presses!! Tell the world!!! Time to celebtate!! Party hearty!!!🤣🤣🤣
Lol
😂
THE ONLY TREASURE IN THIS SHOW IS THE MONEY THAT THEYRE GETTING PAID FROM THE HISTORY CHANNEL!!
A possible ring bolt ? Ancient aliens 👽 say yes.
@K Kr " This probe to your ring won't hurt at all ". LOL 👽
I stopped watching this years ago can't believe it's still on. And guess what they're still finding nothing but junk
Hahaha!, me too, man. I'm glad I stopped, also. this thing a joke.
Looks like the bar that goes between horses and a cart .
Thanks to all the commentators. I enjoyed reading them immensely ☺️☺️😅😊😆
To me I see a dry dock location used to repair ships. You would find pieces of ships and metal and even pitch kilns.
The deeper they dig the closer that are to the true story of what actually happened!! And something very significant happened on that island!!! My focus would be mainly on that man made swamp!!!! Still hooked on this show, even tho they dragging it out, what happened to the mass excavation of the island they spoke of in the end of season 7??
Used as a fire spit to cook :)
*But the railing piece was preserved by the bog and looked almost new. Why would they burn one section and not the other? Was burning part of the prep work? Ring bolt is for anchoring and it got burnt, so did the bolt get burnt before or after the hoisting was done?*
All those old boulders remind me of Goonies. Those boulders probably were put there for a reason, but they don't know why. I wonder how many times the team has watched that movie and said "That's what is down there"
Your Right.
HAVE gooniez never day die
They detected that huge "ship-shaped" anomaly in the swamp 2 years ago and still haven't tried to dig a part out or core it?
@Derek Jackson Could it be that History Channel is milking the show for money, as some ancient History Channel viewers believe.
Thanks!
Pretty sure iron would not show signs of being burnt after that much time in the water and ground
This episode only finds bolts, screws, wood, scraps of metal, underwear, bras, panties, etc.. But till now no money pit or tressure... Just a waste of time..
@Derek Jackson just to add in some spice😜
That a top pocket find, but to big for his top pocket.😜😂
I could of swore I seen that same iron bar on an old bulldozer that was used for moving stones from place to place around the island!
They put the ship in the swamp and burned it after they moved everything off... plot thickens
Your Right.
Pirates used the swamp as a makeshift dock to empty stolen ships then burn them
Yeah . they need a big find soon
The Rarest find I've seen since watching...Dirt on Gary Drayton's Hand!
Iam so stoked for season 9, and look forward to the fellowship continue their journey on Oak Island.
Spoiler Alert: No treasure found. Just more wood.
@@gnomeofwar Wood is good as it tells apart of the story of whatever happened on Oak Island.
Can't Garry the use a spade?
I think Gary has it in his contract that most he will do is walk around with the metal detector. I feel sorry for the poor sap with the shovel when Gary detects a bunch of spilled nails, nuts and bolts scattered all over the place.
A possible ring bolt? Enough with the Qs.
I have a big big BIG BIG Problem with this show now, three days ago they find a piece of ships rail and they said Billy's bucket was scraping on a possible ship in the swamp its huge and deep they said, so wtf happened to that !!!!! or did i get abducted by aliens.
“Typical Oak Island” happened. AKA they found something potentially huge and groundbreaking, started digging it up and oh darn would you look at that, the ground is unstable and collapsing. Guess it’s too unsafe to keep digging so we have to stop. Same thing happened last season when they dug that big pit and it looked like they intersected a tunnel. You could see an entrance with wood cribbing in the side of the wall but the rim of the pit started collapsing so they halted further excavation and we never heard anything else about it
I love this television program. Looks like fun. Getting all wet and muddy in the swamp. Kind of reminds me of talking my sister's into making a very big mud puddle and getting all covered in mud from head to foot. Mama came home and saw the mess. I was the one who got in trouble for it. She said I should have known better. I guess I should, but it sure was fun and beat the summer heat. Wonder if any of them ever thought of a mud fight? Ha ha. I'm 62 and sitting here laughing at the memory. It's funny what something totally unrelated will bring back a memory from that long ago.
I saw the word “curse” and clicked 😯
Hi
I sure am glad there's a narrator to constantly repeat what has just been said. Cause without that , I wouldn't have a clue on what was just said. And by doing all that unnecessary narrating, it sure does drag out every episode. 🤔
But... but... was there any wood connected to it? We want more wood!!!
Great find not a Bobby dazzler but something interesting to a scraper
Metal object, severely burned hmm sounds like my old smoking pipe
Could it be, maybe it's... What if... YAWN....
that bar they found has been analized and found to be the "HOOK" we all get after watching a show that finds "nothing" as usual
@Derek Jackson perfect
Nice work guys
I'd say they burned the ship right there not much left but the metal objects, and a little charged wood
Why are they wearing hard hats? lol
@Derek Jackson yea i get that just looks funny when there just pulling stuff out if the ground with hard hats on
Actually it's to keep from getting a head injury when they fall down laughing after shooting a scene.
Is the fireplace channel still available ?
There is a comedy show from my country called "The Slowest Show" and if you like the fireplace channel, this is the show for you!
@@heatherzwicker8031 got to be better than this Curse of Oak Island Shitshow
@@jefflowe2377 Oh man! I was genuinely suggesting watching the skating episode, it is so soothing! But non Canadians may resonate with the swimming pool better and they (the episodes I have bothered to try) have some hilarity to them.
All The Best Team In Finding Lots Of More Treasures Like Gem Stone Rings And Gold Coins.
Now yah gotta figure out what ship disappeared long ago that could be there
What a joke. Gary finds a iron rod that is realllly old. It come out of the swamp but didn't have any mud on it. It lookes like a tie rod from an old Mack truck that was run over by a bulldozer to bend it then stashed for Gary to find.
Yes, Oak Island many visitors from Europe and other places on their way to the upper Peninsula for copper to make bronze. Historians have said that 300 tons of copper were mined from upper Michigan for hundreds of years with crude tools. Artifacts found there suggest Carthaginians.
Watching each person's hands get blackened from holding the iron bar, my thought was that it had been burned extensively.
The comment section is the only reason I'm here!
To me that looks like something from an old open fireplace they hung kettles on...
ill check back in 2046
I'm waiting on a call from Rick and Marty, I can tell them a secret way to actually DOUBLE the amount of metal artifact finds in each episode. Pick up the phone. :)
How about using one of those large electro magnets like they do for junk automobiles at the scrapyard?
What’s your idea ?
@@willlydon1863 I just heard they have been renewed for another ten years so to speed things up, why not put TWO people with metal detectors walking around? I have genius ideas like this all of the time. Rick, Marty, I'm available.
I would go dig for free if I could have the time to go there. I think it would be fun. I might not find one thing, but ...who knows?
*yawn*
Native Americans plundered and set fire to this foreign European ship.
About time the archeologist did good archeology. Aside from screaming inside every time they yank something from the ground without proper recording, at least the archeologist immediately noticed the charcoal and discoloration of the object and deduced fire. And this is strong evidence of fire in the swamp, not conjecture or rumor. Plus the charcoal can be carbon 14 dated.
It's a landfill of discarded junk.
Yo that thing is so huge.
Looks like they found the treasure !
That rod was part of the pendulum that swung over the pit!
What about the coconut husk? What's it linked to ancients aliens?Tune in next weeks episode, when a cast member finds another iron ring in the port of potty!
Need to find skmething good soon
It been over 2 years they still haven't found any gold they wasting their time
Love this program
Better find gold soon man or diamonds
When they find this boat junk.. it makes me think it’s just an old boat slip for repairs.
Idk who made it but they had to before continuing on their mission.
I think gary bought his detector from toys r us that's why they never find anything but small stuff.
I wonder if maybe it was repurposed into a pot holder over a fireplace for melting tar or pitch used to repair ships and sails.
Oh my god really can you drag it on another six seasons
These guys have cried WOLF so many times, no credibility
Great video !
Could it be??????
They would be thrilled to find the goldmine at the local junkyard
Did I see a "Made in China" stamp on it?
Our clock should have had 13 hours.
OK.
Are they ever gonna find treasures or a bunch of nails and tools? Which is cool but.... how long can we keep holding on? SWEAR THIS IS THE LAST SEASON!!! ♡♡♡
I say the same thing
The show is worth more than any treasure. The show is their treasure. That's why its been dragged out so long.
@Derek Jackson well wood is good, but...
Nice work 🎆🎇🌠
What are your thoughts about this metal rod Rick. Take it to the blacksmith. He's getting paid to say what we think it is and not what it really is and what it was used for! Get it!
You know this show has went from lets find the treasure below ground to lets wind up the Scooby-Doo mystery machine and try to figure out the who what where when how and why to all this stuff we dig up from 6 inches to 6 feet with a normal metal detector and just get even more baffled when every single item dug up conflicts every other thing dug up. Whats surprising is that commen sense tells us that maybe when certain people started owning plots of land on there back in the 1700s, maybe they found the treasure there already and used it to buy certain items that were up to 200 years old but still usable and got misplaced all over the island. And maybe some people were thereduring the 1400 and 1500s just passing through. Maybe there's no treasure cuz if there was one it would be found by now.
Lots of lame finds this season
In a recent episode they uncovered a piece of wood. They found *wood* on OAK Island...who'da thunk it?
Its just a hunch but the shipps ballast might be a plug for H2S. Those other dudes that dug a hole i remember from PAST shows got hit by GAS . STAY SAFE DUDES OF OAK Treasure ISLAND with sensors and SCBA equipment on site and on your backs.👍
Didn't they announce they found the treasure?
Just dig up swamp am shaw it's there the so called treasure of 1 eyed willy 🤔😶😅😅😂👏👏 click click get it.
Can we just watch a show with drayton metal detecting? I say spin off should be coming
That's piece of of iron and its burned.
Arkadaş bu kadar zaman bişeyi bulamadılar ya yazık. Geniş bir çember kazın para kuyusunda . Ya tünel bulursunuz ya hazine . Madenleri nasıl kazıyorlar ?
To date, these treasure hunters have followed up clue after clue, spent millions of $ and years, to no avail. If there is a fortune buried in Oak Island, it is still safely hidden.. :)
Unicef heritage archeological site????
Maybes it wasn't 1 more must die, but 1million must die?
bulun artik bu hazineyi
I thought that was joe biden on the cover
Well well they found another piece of rusty junk , what a surprise . The Kardashian's and this are about the same !
Its a iron rodrick
They anchored down in the swamp and burned the ship and that's the reason for all the charcoal and the 200' anomaly, and the stone road was built too off load the treasure before the burn, and all the stones for that road came from the boulder less beach,,now, did they burn the ship in the daytime where you see the smoke from miles away or did they burn at nighttime where you could see the flames for only 1 mile away and after all the work it took to hide all that loot, where are all the bodies buried, I say they took all the workers out on another ship and killed them and threw them overboard and probably all the officers on the scuttled and burned ship also, because you know what they say,,loose lips sink ships.
How is this show still on TV???
With the pandemic affecting tv production everywhere shows like this are relatively easy to produce because they only have to dig up a piece of scrap metal, broken teacup or piece of wood and the narrator says, "a piece of metal. That's an extremely important find. But what does it tell the intrepid treasure hunters? What is its significance?" Episode done. Collect your paycheck.
Global Warming. If as my professor insists that his flat tire was due to Global Warming then this whole island thing is due to Global Warming.
We are going to find the Bigfoot before they find the gold
Not Bigfoot. It must ALL be due to Global Warming.
