This is also a great way to get custom heroes added to your pantheon from any culture/race combination you want (e.g. you can recruit them in later games). It's not as optimal for pantheon leveling BUT if hero selection matters to someone, then it kills two birds with 1 stone Another trick. All roads lead to something/somewhere and they give improved movement. Can add a level of consistancy by force moving your scouts along roads. Last trick. Sometimes the enemy won't straight up vassalize you without a large gold bonus. Use imperium to get population and grab any gold mines you may have nearby
Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that out since I'm still grinding in the hopes of accumulating more levels before expansion comes out in a few months - Syndrome
you can do it with all basic factions, on the small map it does not change much for the speed of doing it) (4-9 turns except if you are an underground, then it might go a bit high, but only if a monster spawner is on your exit and your scouts don't dare to go out, then you need to go through it manually) I was able to make all the official heroes part of my pantheon this way. (so i get more variety in heroes / adversary but i don't get what heroes in pantheon change for that :D)
Lol. Fair enough I suppose. I am having fun playing the default way myself seeing as it is basically just all cosmetics. If anything I'd be fine if they left it as is just so people can skip the progression stuff if they really don't want to do it.
Yeah, I mostly wanted to test out a few of the cultural traits and Necromancer orbs that are pretty far down the tree, and grinding out the traditional way was taking a while to get there.
Do you have a link to that Mod? Took a look in the workshop, didn't see it. Given that I'm cheesing it, using a mod to skip ahead doesn't really offend me in the slightest - Syndrome
Wait for my next video, I'm finishing a recording now but it looks like I'll have a turn 40 brutal win. The method I use results in a ridiculous amount of Pantheon points, it might be even quicker than this.
Not 100% sure what other perspective you would be interested in from this sort of game. It does allow you to zoom in and fully rotate the camera, which gives it more of a 30% angle rather than the top down, but it makes it considerably harder to manage your empire.
Not that I found, I had to manually set it to 7 players and close distance each time - if anyone else knows if there is a way to do it, let us know - Syndrome

Good points on both.
You can just pick the default Arcane Tigrans faction. Mystic culture's scouts are not affected by terrain penalties.

@@breakingthestream5732 when does the expansion come out?
@@capsortee The first DLC, Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn should be releasing Q3 2023.

It not all cosmetic
Yeah there's a culture trait for each alignment, I think around seven weapons I think. There's a lot to unlock a person might want.

What he said.
Or you could just get the mod that give you 50 pantheon levels after wining one map.

Did they? I haven't had a chance to play AOW in a while - thank you for pointing that out. I'll go ahead and mark this video as obsolete.
Dude that is so broken

First person 4x city builder would be... unusual
