    mifold - the Grab-and-Go Booster Seat ...
    This video explains how to use your mifold seat.
    mifold is the most advanced, compact and portable child car safety seat in the world. It’s more than 10x smaller than a regular booster and it’s just as safe.
    How’s that possible? Well, a regular booster lifts a child to be in the position of an adult. mifold does the exact opposite … instead of lifting the child up, it holds the seatbelt down … it’s that simple. mifold is engineered to protect children from the age of 4 all the way up to 12. Mifold has been approved in the USA meeting and exceeding the expectations of FMVSS 213, while in the EU it meets and exceeds the ECE R44.04 regulations.
    The patented design takes the seat belt off the stomach and the neck, making it comfortable, safe and easy to use. Carloads of kids and parents already tried and they love it.

    We just took our mi-folds on vacation with us. It was great when we had to take an Uber from the airport to the hotel as most Uber's and taxi's do not carry car seats. The kids could carry them in their backpacks. When we rented a car, it was easy when we needed to fit an adult in between them. Usually, there is no room. The kids loved it. It takes a few times to get used to the whole process, my 6 year old daughter had trouble getting out. but, other than that, we were very pleased.

    Great product! We've been using it in our vehicles, and it's much more convenient than other boosters when the kidlets need to transfer from one vehicle to the other. Also, we were able to easily take them along with us when flying (except the one time TSA inspected our kids' bags because they didn't know what the mifold was... hahaha!). Friends and family are impressed with the mifolds, and I recommend them all the time when other parents take notice.

    Great product and we just received, and used, our mifold last night. My little guy loved it and thought it was so cool that he could take it with him! One thought for improvement would be to create a snap or holder for the seatbelt shoulder strap for easy storage. The carry bag is great and we just shove it in but having a specific place for it to be wrapped around and tucked into (like the instructions) would be awesome. Version 2.0! Great job and thank you for making a great product.

    Need some lock to avoid folding back while on seat, and need some clip to hook on the tether to prevent sliding...

    • @Pressity1
      @Pressity1 3 роки тому +1

      There's no way that this could attach to the tether anchor, but it would be helpful if this had LATCH anchors to hold it in place for when this is used as an everyday seat. If LATCH anchors we're added onto this they still wouldn't work in all seats however because some LATCH anchors are placed in some really strange places, and few vehicles have more than two rear seating positions with them.

      One of our priorities has been to design mifold to be comfortable as well as safe and easy to use. We have had carloads of children (and parents) using mifold and they really do love it. In a recent study, most users find the mifold Grab-and-Go booster seat very comfortable.
      The comfort comes from three design and engineering factors:
      (i) We use a unique EVA DenseFoam™(Ethylene-vinyl acetate) to provide constant support at the pressure points. EVA is typically used as a shock absorber in sports shoes and boxing gloves.
      (ii) The foam fabric pad extends to the edge of the seat to ensure there is no hard edge. And
      (iii) the child’s weight is designed to sink the entire mifold seat into the vehicle cushion, levelling out the two surfaces and minimising the edge effect. All our adult employees have sat on mifold for several days in the office and we are very happy with the performance.

      Hi Koufaf. mifold is designed for children aged from 4 years old and up. Car seat regulations are different in each country and can be quite confusing: they can be based upon age, weight, height or a combination of all three.
      In the USA and in Canada, mifold is designed for children weighing from 40 Ibs to 100 lbs (18kg to 45kg) and measuring 40 to 57 inches tall (102cm to 145cm). Please contact support@mifold if you have any further questions!

    • @Mifold
      @Mifold  2 роки тому

      The mifold range of grab-and-go booster seats and hifold fit-and-fold highback booster seats are not available in Australia.
      Although the mifold seats are globally regulated, this does not cover Australia. The Australian regulations are completely different the the international UNECE regulations, and to the US (FMVSS213), Canadian (CMVSS213) and Chinese (CCC) ones.
      To comply will require a complete reengineering and unfortunately the market size does not justify having a unique product for a population of only 25-million people.
      We would love to sell our products to Australians, and we recommend that you lobby your government to bring the Australian child passenger safety regulations in line with the rest of the world.

    i know it says it's for kids 4 years and up, 15kg above. but now my toddler (2 years old) is resisting car seat. will he fit in this better than not using anything at all? i know it is still not safe and not following the rules

    • @Mifold
      @Mifold  10 місяців тому

      The mifold grab-and-go booster seat is only recommended for use on children over the age of 4-years old. Under that age, children's bones are not sufficiently developed to be strong enough to withstand the forces of a seat belt. Children should continue to be restrained in a seat with a five-point harness for as long as possible before transitioning to any booster seat, and ideally only once they have outgrown their infant seat.

    Is it comfortable?

    • @Mifold
      @Mifold  6 років тому

      Hi Mou Merry thank you for the question. More than 500,000 parents and caregivers around the world are regularly using mifold seat with children in their cars. Research among long-time users shows that that vast majority say their seat is either comfortable or very comfortable.
      The comfort comes from three design and engineering factors:
      (i) We use a unique EVA DenseFoam™ (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) to provide constant support at the pressure points. EVA is typically used as a shock absorber in sports shoes and boxing gloves.
      (ii) The foam fabric pad extends to the edge of the seat to ensure there is no hard edge. And,
      (iii) The child’s weight is designed to sink the entire mifold seat into the vehicle cushion, levelling out the two surfaces and minimizing the edge effect.
      When we receive feedback saying that mifold is uncomfortable we often find this is a result of misuse. The seat should be placed flat on the vehicle seat as shown in the instruction manual and videos (www.mifold.com/instructions)
      If you are still having problems, please send over a video and pictures of your children sitting down on the seat. Our product experts will review there and identify any issues.
      mifold is completely different from all other booster seats and it can take a few journeys for kids to get used to it.

    • @Pressity1
      @Pressity1 3 роки тому +1

      Make seat belts TRULY adjustable? That would be thinking! And a whole lot of money and engineering. Which is most likely why they haven't done this. I'm an expired CPST, but I try to stay up to date, and my 4 kids range from almost 15 to 12 months old, so I've had a LOT of experience in the last decade and a half with car seats and fitting them into vehicles properly. I can assure you that the first step toward this would be for the dang auto manufacturers and car seat manufacturers to ACTUALLY work together, because the incompatibilities between the two abound! And a lot of incompatibilities aren't even listed in the owners manuals of the car seats! Finding the right seat to fit both your child AND your vehicle, knowing all the intricacies and long list of incompatibilities that exist, makes the WHOLE ordeal a headache and a half!

      Hi Ashley. Thanks of your comment. All booster seats are designed to restrain a child with the adult seat belt, by correctly positioning the lap belt across the top of the thighs, against the pelvis and the chest belt of the clavicle.
      A regular booster seat does this by lifting the child up, to be in the position of an adult so that the belts fit correctly. mifold does the exact opposite, instead of lifting the child up it holds the seatbelt down to fit correctly.
      mifold does this at three points: there are two belt guides on either side of the child's hips, to hold the lap belt correctly and off the soft stomach. These belt guides are adjustable to three sizes to make sure that the belt is always held snugly in place. There is a third clip on a strap that pulls the seatbelt chest strap down correctly onto the clavicle; away from the face and neck. So, like a regular booster, mifold holds the seat belt in exactly the correct position on the bones of the hips and the bones of the shoulder, without needing a big, bulky seat to lift the child. In a collision, the child is protected in the same way. mifold works by adjusting the adult seatbelt to correctly fit the child. By using mifold you are ensuring that your car's seat belt fits your child. Let us know if you require any further explanation by writing to us at support@mifold.com. Thanks

    • @Mifold
      @Mifold  5 років тому +4

      Hi Anagnorisis. Thanks for your comment. The mifold booster car seat conforms to the most universally accepted global booster car seat regulations: European Union ECE R44.4; FMVSS 213 in the United States, and the RSSR regulations in Canada. mifold has been crash tested multiple times in testing facilities around the world (including MGA in the USA,Tass International in Holland and PMG in Canada) , and has successfully complied with the performance requirements of all these regulations. mifold is the most advanced, compact and portable booster ever invented. It is completely different to all other car seats and redefines the way booster seats work and appear; especially the routing of the vehicle seat belt. The lap belt is designed to be low on the hips and contacting the top of the thighs, which has been shown to be very safe. People who are used to seeing the lap-belt routing with a regular booster seat, sometimes comment that the routing with mifold is ‘too low’. This is not the case. As mentioned we have crash tested mifold in different crash test facilities worldwide. From all of these tests we have clearly demonstrated that the belt routing (low on the hips and contacting the top of the thighs) is effective and comparable to the performance of regular seats. The fact that the lap belt is held so snugly to the child combined with the friction layer of fabric on the seat cushion, keeps the child and the seat together and ensures that the lap belt always engages the hips correctly. We hope that this explains the seat belt fit but do please contact support@mifold.com if we can be of any further assistance.

      Belt should NOT be on the waist. Seen some videos of kids that end up with colostomy bags after a crash because of this misunderstanding. Think about it a bit and it makes sense. You don't want all the force of stopping your forward momentum on your belly and intestines. You want it on your rig cage and your thigh bones
