I'm thinking about purchasing an orange one of these today. I am currently flying an HSD Viper. I know you also have one of those. I'm going to be using the Swiwin 60. How do you think those two jets compare as far as flight characteristics, power to weight ratio, speed, etc. I would appreciate any thoughts, etc. you have between the two. Thanks!!
SW60 is a perfect pairing for the rebel hot. Static thrust wont be an issue and will have about the same power to weight ratio as you are used to with your SV. (as long as your dont go crazy with add on with your rebel lol. The rebel will be more agile and responsive than the SV so i recommend having triple rates for ailerons and elevator on different switches so you can get it set for your flying style. Having the steering on its own channel will help greatly. I use a gyro for the steering so it tracks and stops straight on the runway. The tank is real thin so that is something to think about if your going to plug the vent. I had mine crack sitting in the hot sun for 5 minutes with it plugged. CARF is a great company BUT this one came in damaged cracked down the seam on top by the rudder, a buddy nose was crushed. When talking to Mike we got the "you cant repair it?" while the answer is yes its F%^$ked up you spend the money to get that answer...When ordering you get a PO then you pay for it. Then they release it from the warehouse which tells me they are a distributor but dont actually own the models outright. So my advice is they come on a freight truck (old dominion) have the driver sit down and UNBOX IT IN front of him...If any damage dont accept the delivery. If you dont inspect it and it is damaged you will be on your own (from experience) Order the right servos for it )size wise) the elevator servos are a tight fit. I used toros as in the videos and still hade to make adjustments (minor ones) Its a GREAT Flyer can fly real fast and slow. You will enjoy it just make sure to get her in slow on landings which is hard bc she like to cut through the air with ease. The flaps will be the part you spend the most time on to get the geometry right. Thanks for watching.
HI Trent, how all has been well. Well, that's a loaded question lol for a first Turbine...1st how good a pilot are you? And can you build? (If you built a plane or scale heli then it will be no isse) 2nd...how deep are your pockets? Do you have an engine? If not ACT NOW swiwin 60 are on sale till the 15thbof Aug. For like 1100 shipped!! Www.swiwinturbines.com....reason is cost........hsd viper is 1300ish turbine and rx ready...if you crash you can get a kit for 400 install gear servos and stuff be back in the air (if turbine is good) rebel hot with art package is 2,100.00 plus 200.00 frieght (comes on old dominion) so 2300 to the door, then $650 in servos, $60 in fuel fittings, plus all the wire and connectors if you don't habe it....she sits about $3,100ish without engine and rx... another 200 for a 12 ch. powersafe now 3300.00 if you crash 1500 for a new fus bc you have all the bits...next will you have pilot support from someone who does turbines and can body box? This rebel is a solid flier as is the viper. The viper has held up nicely. Flies great BUT depending on the temp here in AZ...everytime It flies it needs to be retrimmed...nothing nuts...like 2 clicks on ail... don't know if it's the foam reacting to temp change, of maybe when you put the wings on...they don't seat the same everytime....my only negative at the moment
Noonz Airborne RC thanks for all the info, I definitely feel as if I'm ready for turbines form a pilot stand and if put together lots of TF Giant scale warbirds and all that, I'm just now thinking turbines would be cool, now I never did any of that edf stuff but I've flown 100cc warbirds for awhile. Will that swinin 60 fit in the hsd viper? And budget wise I can get whatever but the hsd jet seems to me to be a better first jet, as crashing it wouldn't hurt as bad as a 5k jet
@@Rooksaho YES!! The swiwin 60 is the perfect pairing for the hsdviper...i run the same engine in the Rebel and viper.....i got the viper first for the same reason!!...if you get the turbine...the deal does not show on the site.... contact them via the fb messenger icon and let them know I sent ya...theyll take real good care of ya...and a future WELCOME to the swiwin family
@@Rooksaho get your flight time with someone that has one and will take ya under their wing...you have to do x amount of hours basically when you can fly it...then you have a test with someone who has a waiver and also an AMA contest director..a turbine guy at you fiepd will know of one or many in the area...take the test..saftey and flight maneuvers and good to go. You only need a waiver if taking off an AMA flield....if let's say in the middle of the desert on a pakebed..one not needed but strongly encouraged to have
At time of this video the jet with tanks, tube and gear already installed was $2,300.00 delivered. Complete with the way I set it up I was $3,500.00 in it minus the turbine. Thanks for watching. Can build it more expensive ir cheaper depending on what you choose to install
I wonder if I would use different servo arms.
That is on another level John! So nice
Thanks Bill!
Really amazing build. Looking forward to the maiden.
Just released.....Watch "Rebel HOT Maiden with SWIWIN SW60 Turbine from BADBOYZRC" on UA-cam Edited Version ua-cam.com/video/PQoHQMCOy3U/v-deo.html
Kick ass plane John! Keep up the great videos.

Well done bro, great job 😊

I absolutely love that plane, in your dead honest opinion for a first turbine aircraft would you recommend this plane or the hsd viper

I’m in az also. Near the cave creek rc airport. This kit is about $2k. What do you think this cost to buy old out? Minus transmitter $5k or more?

Can this airframe be converted to EDF, looks like it might fit a 120mm dia EDF.
I am sure it can as its bigger versions have already been done
