Excellent review. I have a 2000 TJ Sports with the 163kw and it's still going strong. Pleasure to drive and great torque. Especially low end. Wicked car.
My TH Magna is 24 years old but I can't bring myself to sell it. The engine is a peach and still runs like new. The interior is bland but it hasn't aged as badly as the fabric choice in the video. I wish it had some of the safety features of the new cars but it's so much fun to drive and has never let me down.
I had a TJ 2000 year Advance bought it second hand. One of the best car's i ever owned and kept it for about 14 years before selling it. The drive was quite and comfortable. The v6 was a bullet proof engine so smooth and plenty of power if you needed to overtake on our country roads. They were thousands of dollars cheaper than the Holden commodores and Falcons of that era. This was mainly due to earlier models having numerous issues and people took a dislike to them. Overall the TJ were more reliable than the commodores and Falcons of those years. The one and only major problem i had was with the Automatic. A internal circlip broke and a piece destroyed the front pump. I picked up a second hand transmission fitted myself and never had any more issues with the transmission. Sold it at 240,000km. Thanks for your video i enjoyed your review of a great car that was totally under appreciated in it's day.
I have a 2000 TJ Sports metallic red (burgundy) with over 240,000km. Still going strongly, mine is the original TJ Sports model with the VRX spoiler and odometer is not digital, no climate control or maplights, no passenger airbag. From around May 2001 black door handles were added and the rear spoiler was redesigned and the electric sunroof became an option and it is VERY RARE!. The final update was later in 2001 adding climate control, interior map lights and passenger airbag as standard. VRX is more common that Sports. I mainly use my Magna for highway driving, cruises nicely and the 6 cylinder engine is strong, fuel usage about 10.5L per 100km overall. Will use 650km per tank on the highway, 400 in town but there are plenty of hills where I live.
I have seen one of the 3 yellow VR-X manual with sunroof in NW Tasmania. 50 yellow VR-X were built and a few other models (Verads GTV x20, Ralliart x4) also were in yellow too. These cars are becoming very hard to find, they are the XY Phase 3 equivalent of Magnas.
This is definitely sportier than the 380 but I would be lying if I do not say that I actually enjoyed driving one of friend's 380 VR-X with 5 speed manual. J
Them 04/05 Sportivo Corollas are pretty good I must say With the 2ZZ-GE Pretty sure it's the same engine as the lotus has on Mighty car mods right now V6 should win off the line Vs N/A 4cyl Put some Pacemaker headers with full exhaust on the magna Should go pre hard
Nice review um could you maybe when you do the driving clip not edit the video because i liked how you talked about the car while your drove!!!... still nice review
Thank you. I liked the older style of the video as well. But, I had trouble capturing good audio on those. I will see if I can get a good external microphone set up and then I will go back to shooting in that style again. I really appreciate your support and thank you for the suggestion.
Good Morning! I do not know censor comments. In fact I always encourage people to share their opinions and experience here. As a matter of fact, I actually liked your last comment on this video but don't know what happened it is not showing here.

Your Magna stands out !

Besides the VL Commodore the VJ Magna are one of the best looking aussie cars
TJ,TL/TW and the 380
XY, XA and XB Falcon GT (genuines and lookalikes) as well.
The Magna is a unappreciated sleeper car with a brilliant and powerful engine

Thank you very much for sharing such detailed information and your personal experience with the car.
i drive a 2000 Solara, these cars refuse to die.
My TJ is now at 266,000km, still going strong. The headlining is peeling off.
2000 TJ Sports and yeah these cars refuse to die.
@@nicholasconnolly4234 Now at 290,000km. Still going strongly. A bit old now, headlining has totally peeled off (but don't they all)
Really good review.
what a great review !
Thank you. Please share it with your mates and other petrol heads.
Great review!
Mag-Na , a bit typo there hehe. As usual incredibly distinct review. Love it, man!
Thank you. I have now corrected the title of the video.
this was filmed in my neghbourhood i also have a magna but only the base model 3 liter do you still have this one?
on the road at 4:40 ive literally had the magna at 130 with ease bro the magna is a crazy sleeper
Nice cars these are. On my 6 VR-X magna now. Got a yellow 5 speed manual with sunroof, that they only made 3. These things are weapons

Had a 99 TH Magna wagon with the 3.5 V6 and manual transmission. That thing was a real sleeper, I wish I hadn't sold it.
That engine with 5 speed manual, say no more! I hear you. :)
Cheers man thanks for the review.
No worries.
I am buying this for my first car with V6, 2nd hand but totally cool car
Same man! Buying it tomorrow. Modded dashboard with bluetooth radio and reverse cam
@@lolplayer2388 damn u got bluetooth radio, i just have the normal one can't even plug in a usb, bought a transmitter didn't work
Have had one for a few months now, it has been amazing
I have the AWD version of this. The only thing that sets it apart is the AWD side decals and badging.
These are good cars. Hold on to it.
There's a lot more that sets the AWD apart from the FWD model than just badges lol
IMO, so much more substantial car than the cheap looking 380 that replaced it.
This is definitely sportier than the 380 but I would be lying if I do not say that I actually enjoyed driving one of friend's 380 VR-X with 5 speed manual. J
The 380 was a good car, it certainly had grunt but I do prefer the stylistic choices in the Magna.
Toyota corolla with twin cam vs this who would win can someone tell me please
Them 04/05 Sportivo Corollas are pretty good I must say
With the 2ZZ-GE
Pretty sure it's the same engine as the lotus has on Mighty car mods right now
V6 should win off the line
Vs N/A 4cyl
Put some Pacemaker headers with full exhaust on the magna
Should go pre hard
Song please
Please do a review of the all wheel drive Mitsubitshi Magna's.
(btw - nice review of the '03!)
Yeah
I need this engine..
They are still quite common in Australia.
great car im 16 and i bought one for $350 sucks rego costs more than the car :(
Haha.
Well said.

They ruined the shape after this.
Yeah. Specially those headlights!
Yes. Agreed
The TL with any colour that isn't silver looks damn fine.
