Thanks itsaboutfam, very kind.😀 I’m holding out for it to qualify for historic number plates; another 8 years to go…

Great review mate I love it. I own 3 of them, 1 x heavily worked Solara, and 2 x Ralliart’s, all are manual too

Magna looks fantastic. My CJ Lancer is in storage with a dust cover over it as well. Keeps it clean and safe. I do start it every fortnight to keep the battery alive.

Thanks Stephan very kind. And you have there one of the last notable Mitsubishi's IMO, along with the Pajero, so it's nice to see that it's being preserved as well. What model do you have?

@@stephanburgess654 Wow, three Lancers! Do you use them for different purposes or just enjoy driving them?

@@billymasonpi the Ralliart is in the shed under cover and only goes out to car meets. The black edition I drive alone with my daughter when she needs the car. The GLS the wife drives mostly and we do trips in because of the comfort.

Great update mate. Paint on the car looks good.

Thanks very much AJ-Lawn! Although I've had the front end up to the base of the windscreen resprayed due to years of motorway mileage causing lots of little chips etc, the paint otherwise has held up remarkably well.

Indeed that are, it's an enjoyable car to maintain. I just wish the front struts weren't so beefy because it's hard work to change out the springs and shocks.

Niccccce! Cocoon white😎 I’ve got same colour TJ. Best colour. It’s the colour of dust. You can not wash it for months and still looks clean. Also, this colour didn’t get nuked by UV damage. I had a TH same colour. Had it from 2003-2013. Bought my TJ for $3000 in 2013. Not quite and neat and tidy as yours but it’s been great. Still only has 175000km. The wave spring went in my gearbox went in 2015. I got one of the last Mitsubishi factory recon. Boxes. I got some new old stock outlander rims cheap from a dealership. Neat, tidy, cops don’t bother me and cheap motoring. Cheers for the vid. Subscribed. ✊

Thanks kitatit, indeed the best colour that remains looking clean for months and the paint has held up really well. The darker colours such as the burgundy, green and black really suffered. Glad to hear that there another TJ on the road that you’re enjoying, they truly are value for money motoring but also not boring to drive. How do you find your TH compared to your TJ? I read that the TH had better build quality as by the TJ Mitsubishi had started to strip some of the inconspicuous items to save money. That said, Holden did the same with the VT to VX Commodore but I think that was also to reduce weight.

@@billymasonpi On the whole I haven’t hand many build quality issues. The gearbox never failed on the TH but that was luck really. They both had the same vulnerability in that regard. I believe they didn’t upgrade the wave spring until after the TJ. Maintenance wise, they have been pretty much identical. They both needed the roof lining replaced at around the 10yr mark. Rocker cover gaskets about every 50000k. Starter motor on the TH. One window winder motor on TJ. Just done the AC fan speed selector resistor. I just replaced the remote control key fob with a universal modem remote with a flip out key after I had to fix the original for for the third time. Highly recommend. Cheers for the vids. Respect for keeping yours going. They don’t get as much respect as they should. After having two, they have been quite reliable in my experience. Peace brother✊

@@kitatit With the exception of the gearbox your experience doesn't sound too dissimiliar to mine - a few things here and there. The remote central locking is a common one; I've got an aftermarket remote and actuators on the front doors and occasionally it will still play up.

There are still some well-preserved examples floating around the web, and I wholeheartedly agree that our car buying preferences have taken a negative turn, along with what passes for motoring journalism these days. Fortunately, we can still purchase and savor the best of Australia's automotive history!
