Xavier University to build a $109 Million Medical College Building

    Xavier University has selected multiple firms to design and build their new $109 million college of medicine. Slam Collaborative, will serve as the architect of record, with local design work performed by Cincinnati-based MSA Design. Construction will be handled by Messer Construction. Designs will be finalized in July, and the new renderings will be published toward the end of the summer. Xavier anticipates breaking ground on the new college of osteopathic medicine building by fall 2024 with construction to be complete by fall 2026. The building will be 90,000 to 110,000 square feet in size, located on Dana Avenue west of Station Way overtop green space currently dedicated to a disc golf course. The college will welcome its first class by fall 2027. Construction will support 742 jobs, produce $3.2 million in state and local tax revenue and generate $125.5 million in immediate economic impact in Ohio, according to a feasibility study the school commissioned from consulting firm Tripp Umbach last year. Founded in 1831, Xavier University is a Jesuit Catholic university in Cincinnati, Ohio. Its three colleges offer more than 90 undergraduate majors, 55 minors and 19 graduate programs to 7,000 total students. The University is the sixth-oldest Catholic university in the nation and one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities nationwide.
