      Grimoire really helped me appreciate his Shadowlands story arc a little better with some further explanation. Still reference to his serving the Lich King, while the Jailer played the puppet-master unknowingly in the background!

      We seem to perpetually be in that category; forever underrated and constantly being discovered!
      We’re trying a new type of project with these recaps to keep us on the faster production cycle, instead of our older 10-12 min long videos but now we’re trying the short 3-4 min type video for more frequent content! We’ll see how it pays off!

    Great Video as always.That friendly ''goatheaded-wise old man'' model of Kel before he turned into a lich was great.The fact that model of the Primus is actualy identical with the ''in life version of Kel'' is so badass.

    Btw, I know it must be a ton of work, but are you planning on doing another Tactical Overview like Antorus again in the future? That was imo one of your best videos, great mix between lore and raid introduction.
    "Well... it's almost too unbearable to imagine."

    • @TheLostCodex
      @TheLostCodex  2 роки тому +1

      The tactical overview we did for Legion raids were among our favourites. Nighthold assault, Tomb of Sargeras incursion and operation Antorus!
      I’ll admit and say that none of the raids in BFA gave me much of a drive to do the same - not in the same way as a neutral narrator from Legion and I was almost tempted to do a Nathria one but plans fell through.
      If we get big Antorus vibes for the next raid, I may just plan ahead for that. Glad you enjoyed them as much as we did!

    Kel'Thuzad didn't exactly join the Lich King willingly. He tried to back out when he saw the atrocities that were being commited in Naxxramas, but as he was running away, a handful of Shades and Nerubians surrounded him, he was basically given the choice to serve in life. or he would be killed and made to serve in death.

    • @TheLostCodex
      @TheLostCodex  2 роки тому

      Yeah our original script was worded as “After witnessing the terrible power in the North, his will only faltered once…” but by the third iteration we changed the wording to work with the pacing. We showed Anubarak in the beginning roaring with the line “Witnessed the terrible power of an unknown presence” to replace the line.
      Lots of minor details we had to cut but in the end, even with KT trying to flee, he willingly gave himself over since as you sand he would’ve just been killed and raised

    • @TheLostCodex

      I dunno, I actually quite liked his shadowlands plot. Grimoire talks about how KT manipulated all of Maldraxxus behind that scenes using illegal anima smuggled from his Denathrius-loyal allies. His quote in the raid may have been cheesy but his actions beyond the Veil & everything he built to was kinda badass and manipulative. Just had a poor execution with that opening raid quote.

      Michael McConnohie is credited as his voice from WC3 and also his Shadowlands actor. The only time they changed actor was in WotLk because he also voiced the LK and producers didn’t want people to confuse the LK and KT with a similar voice. He returned in SL!
      He’s also the consistent voice of Uther too!

    While this is very informative, especially with the potential that Kel’thuzard’s Phalactry might have been King Terranasis’s urn ⚱️, he wasn’t killed (had his Phalactry destroyed) during the WOTLK raid, and I doubt the arbiter would have sent him to Maldruxxus, would it be more logical to say that during his second fall in Naxxramus, that he slipped into the shadows and infiltrated the Shadowlands

    • @TheLostCodex
      @TheLostCodex  2 роки тому

      I’m glad someone brought this up!
      The news of his phylactery being destroyed in wrath and the arbiter sending him to Maldraxxus is brand new lore from
      grimoire of the shadowlands.
      Original script had us vaguely mentioning Kel’thuzads death in Wrath and him going to the shadowlands since that’s what chronicle describes his death as (no mention of phylactery) but Grimoire mentions his spirit being prepared for Lich-hood after Arthas kills him and then him going to the afterlife in Wrath! There’s suggestion that there was wonky business with his judgement via Arbiter but if she sends Vashj to Maldraxxus, then a literal accomplished Master Necromancer has a lot more value in the House of Rituals instead of atoning in Revendreth.
      All new lore clarifications

    • @catrinastars
      @catrinastars 2 роки тому

      @@TheLostCodex it still raises the question of when his phylactery was destroyed, and by whom, because we never found it, it wasn’t on him when he died the second time. Looking forward to seeing if and when they’ll explain that 😁. I hope they do a short story or something.

    • @TheLostCodex
      @TheLostCodex  2 роки тому +2

      We did! His Lich form in Maldraxxus and his Lich form in the Mortal Plane are likely 2 different forms.
      Grimoire mentions his Phylactery being destroyed in Naxx 2.0 so after he proved himself to Rituals House, he got a new body and a phylactery!

      @@cristisebu3476 To my knowlegde his Phylactery wasn't found after his 2nd defeat... Need to read the Grimoire then. Furthermore his Dialoges sugest, that he already served the jailer in the 3rd war.

    • @TheLostCodex
      @TheLostCodex  2 роки тому +1

      Grimoire covers his phylactery being destroyed. His dialogue mentions his true allegiance but Grimoire solidifies his loyalty to the Lich King as the source of his necromancer powers. There’s suggestion Zovaal saw potential in KT but nothing that says they outright aligned in WC3.
      Quite possible KT’s raid quotes are being lavishing his own story since he did get his ass handed to him twice in the same castle.

    Praying that Warcraft will be over soon so you can be convinced to give another lore universe this sort of attention. Used to love your videos a couple of years ago when the lore was still exciting 🔥

    • @TheLostCodex
      @TheLostCodex  2 роки тому +1

      Warcraft isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Too much of a money maker and one of the most iconic franchise around.
      Our love is for this world. If WoW suddenly ended, we wouldn’t pack up and just go elsewhere. The Lost Codex would die with Azeroth.
      I know you meant the comment as a compliment but it didn’t come off as that. You can still enjoy our videos and the exciting lore (because to many, it still is, exciting is subjective)

    • @projectlifedog1459
      @projectlifedog1459 2 роки тому

      It wouldn't be so difficult for you to find channels who are already making lore videos about those other universes, since UA-cam got videos about pretty much every single topic in the world. To hope one channels switching is extremely selfish, taking account that most of the commentators are positive and enjoying their time. Even if the majority dont like the story of WoW, it wont make it juctified to say its not exciting as a universal fact. Some people see things different way. Im more into making stories around my own characters, so whatever happens to the games story i can still find ways to make it good for me.
