I bought the cheapest prebuilt "gaming" branded PC I could find on Amazon.com to see if it is any good. I was skeptical because they were selling it as a "10-core" gaming system, so let's see if it let me down.

Narrator RL never buy a pre built pc. Look up on UA-cam, let’s say you have a $500 budget “best $500 gaming pc” and do that. Pre built a use lots of cheap parts and just make them flashy that’s all.
Dawid Does Tech Stuff I’ve seen older pc that works better
Although I have alot better components. I use a case similar to that. For me it's better. Having something under the table just churning the fps. And besides one doesnt look at the case when the enemy is shooting at you. The same for keyboard and mouse. No RGB just backlighting.
This pc was optimized for solitaire and minesweeper.

Sometimes IT Companys throw out old HDD's that were used to run Servers. That HDD looks like it came from there. If you run recovery software and they were sloppy you could actually find some private Company data of thier previous customers.
Any competent IT department would have overwritten the drives. So it's unlikely you would find anything but good luck!
very sus
@@lordterra1377Agreed, but then again, a competent IT department would have had it physically shredded.
It’s definitely made for use in an enterprise level storage system as part of an array and even has NetApp and IBM equivalent part numbers listed. That also means any recovered data would be scrambled without the other drives in the original array to match with. It probably wasn’t encrypted though.
@@mikeg1433 You don't need to shred the drives to make sure no data is recoverable, just write over the data with random stuff a few times or more. Multiple drives can be done in parallel, which greatly reduces overall time. You could shred or degauss them for extra security, but that's really wasteful and I'd rather that be avoided unless there's no other option. Just write data to it encrypted in the first place.
It's funny, my main array is actually a RAID-0 array with a LUKS partition inside, so if one of the drives ended up being wiped, there's no getting the data back. That gives me some piece of mind for if a drive just suddenly dies on me and I have to RMA it. I've used old enterprise drives in the past and they worked alright, just noisy and tend to run a bit hot
The case they used is DIY brand and it's like 30-40 dollars. the panels are so thin that you can dent it by just looking at it.
I actually have bought a lot of other diypc units and they have served me well. This one doesn't look so promising...
DIYPC cases in general seem excessively cheap. But since most are under $50 you get what you pay for.
1000 views = 1 dent
$30 case + $30 HDD + $30 PSU + $50 Mobo + $5 DVD ROM = about 200% profit
So be it, it's actually really damn expensive to get a decent pc, so saving costs on non-important parts like the case and mobo is really helpful
bought this system. runescape never looked so good. 10/10

Well, yeah, it has an APU, why would you need discrete graphics!? /s
Although, given the condition the thing arrived in, and the quality of the packing material? I'm glad it only has an APU. I guarantee any graphics card would have ripped its PCIe port out.
@@benjaminoechsli1941 that and causing damage to the motherboard from bouncing about in the case. I'm surprised that I haven't seen that yet, only dead slots
And it was missing the second memory stick, that was the first thing I noticed, but besides that, I was more disappointed that Dawid never disowned and berated the seller for doing that on an AMD platform
Its disgusting that they would use second hand parts in a new PC.
Agreed. It's also disgusting that they would charge $380 to people who don't know any better.
@@StarsForward And even custom APUs from the consoles beat this computer and much more cheaper
I have a feeling that by law it is a USED PC. It is false advertising about a 10 core processor and it being new. That hard drive is so used it could die any moment too! The VGA port has me wondering what the graphics were too. I know in general on board graphics suck and APUs aren't really a whole lot better except they have a good CPU as part of them. That Dell he once reviewed is looking better by comparison despite being mostly proprietary parts that will make the thing e-waste when anything fails.
Or maybe the hard drive got damaged because it wasn't even secured in place
That PC should have costed 50 dollars new

Haha! Definitely.
Nice ride
@@looweegee252 Not mine, sadly :(
I love his analogy of this build...
"It's like the PC equivilent of gonorrhoea"
Totally accurate 🤣
gonorrhoea has better cable management
AMD used compute cores when they talked about the APUs. They could compute cpu based logic on the GPU cores. The issue was that the APU was based on the older excavator architecture which was premium e-waste material even then. It performs like an athlon x4. The only tip with these chips is disable boost clock and run it locked at its lowest frequency and overclock the shit out of the GPU module. They take some abuse and it really cranks on the FPS quite a bit making older games playable at abysmal settings. The only good thing about this apu is that you can upgrade to the ZEN architecture APU which is much better performance wise for a little more.
I posit that the thing you heard clunking around was *_not_* the power cable, but in fact *_was_* that loose HDD. No worries though, the heads lock when the power is off, or at least they did 20 years ago.😅
A few years ago I wanted to get into tech and PC gaming. I almost fell for stuff like this and wish. I am glad I did my research before I actually spent any money.
"gaming" computer
*29 fps csgo 1080p low*
sounds like a ps4 or xbox xD
AcousticNRG no xbox or ps4 will prolly run 50 to 60 fps
TheEmeraldBucket TEB hell no my 2012 mac mini base model runs it at 70 fps. xbox or ps4 would easily get 100+
Top Kek definitely not, Xbox would get sixty tops just because of the limitation
Bruh intel uhd can run csgo 60+
It would be a lot better if you put a graphics card in it. It looks like it uses the one on the motherboard. It is probably just that APU stuff. It would be pretty fine with a GTX 1650. It could also benefit from Windows on a SSD disc if it is not the case.
I'm so relieved he replaced that zip tie I don't think it would have booted without it
That zip tie looked like it was used to "secure" the HDD.
Wasn't that tweezers?
'Woah... that's not good'
Health Status: Good
But not "good 100%" 😂
Congratulations on 169k buddy, keep it up and you’ll be at 269k in no time👍
I actually unironically like that case. It's hard to find modern cases with disc drive slot
