BAKERS! If you screen shotted or wrote down this recipe before Feb. 6, please note that I had an error in the ingredients!!! I had accidentally written 3/4 cup cocoa powder instead of 1/2 cup. It should be 1/2 cup!!! This definitely would result in dry brownies, I’m sorry for that!! ❤️
LEGITIMATELY last night was thinking "I feel like making brownies, I wonder if Liv has any new recipes up" - and BOOM. The universe answers! MAKING THESE RN, K BYE.
I made this for my family and they all loved it!! They asked me to make another batch for tomorrow. I added chocolate chips too, and I used half buckwheat flour and half coconut flour because that was all I had. But it turned out amazing!!thank youu x
This recipe came up at the most perfect time! I can’t wait to make it And it’s nice that you’ve used minimal ingredients since I don’t have the time to get like 20 ingredients
These were really good! I used oat flour instead of buckwheat and it was totally fine. Super yummy, I even got my non vegan family members to eat them!
I have tried ur chocolate cake recipe that day, i used oat flour replace plain flour, its also work very well, after few days the cakes still so fluffy moist … ur recipe is sooo good n easy to follow 👍🏻👍🏻
Just made these last night! The recipe worked great, however I didn’t use “light” buckwheat flour so they do taste a little earthy. I think you can sub regular flour and it would be great as well! The coconut butter hack shockingly worked!
I was trying so hard to listen but your fur babies were totally stealing the show😂 I’m still loving your chocolate chip cookies but now I’ve got to try these brownies asap!! 😋 Thanks for sharing!!
I substituted peanut butter and the brownies turned out good 👍 the batter was a slightly different consistency, but after cooking they were still fudgy.
I have been trying loads of different recipes online for vegan GF brownies & this is the first video I've watched, sounds daft, but it makes such a difference watching it being made rather than just reading it. I've tried all the ingredients listed except coconut butter. I usually use coconut oil, so I will definitely be trying that! Thank you, those brownies look amazing!
I can’t wait to try these! Can you provide a link for the reusable parchment? I didn’t realize it even existed. Thanks for the recipe it looks delicious.
Totally relate to greasy brownies. These look really good and I have been looking for another gluten free flour so thanks. For some reason I can't always have almond flour so this is perfect. 💓
Hi! I just made this. For anyone interested, I followed the recipe step by step but since I don’t like coconut flavor I used coconut oil instead of the butter. The brownies didn’t came out as expected, the texture is very much like a sponge cake and they aren’t fudgy nor humid. Taste it’s ok but the buckweed has a distinctive texture as well. I will try another brownie recipe by Liv 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah, I tried it too and made it step by step exactly but mine turned out dry and not fudgy at all. My oven is a gas one so I even put the heat down a little to prevent overcooking but still they came out terrible :(
I calculated the calories and macros of the recipe making 16 serves (I added 20g of 85% dark chocolate chunks). Here it is for anyone else that Likes to know: 151 calories / 3g protein/ 25g carbs (10g sugar/5.6g fiber) 4.6g Fat
I can’t wait to try these mine are still baking they have already baked an extra 6 minutes then now another 4. Then maybe another 4. But I added two extra ingredients that weren’t in your recipe. I added a teaspoon and a half of vanilla extract and 2 flax eggs
I feel this might a random request but can Greg come back into your videos? (I think it was on the deli series that he would be on occasionally.) Y’all are so cute together! 💖
I’m going to make these tonight and I’m going to add 2 flax eggs. Adding them for extra health and omegas. Because flax seeds are really good for you. First time I made a flax egg and I was successful
What a great recipe! They look reaalllyy good :D Do they taste a bit like coconut? I have a friend who doesn't like coconut (I know, do they exist??), but would love to try these :)
These look like the fudgiest brownies ever wow. Cannot wait to make. Can I ask why you decided to use water instead of a plant-based milk for the batter? Thank you so much, Liv! 💖
I wanted to make it as easy as possible!! And I also made box mix brownies once that called for water and they turned out amazing so I tried mine with it and they worked too! Also, store bought plant based milk is about 90% water anyway so that was my rationale 😂🥰
I loved the video so I made them for myself! They were not just “not” what I saw in the video but also admittedly one of the worst vegan baked goods I’ve ever had. Very dry, didn’t taste of chocolate and didn’t have much sweetness. It was also pretty gummy I think from using buckwheat flour alone. I logged back on to UA-cam just to write a review bc I want to make sure others don’t get their hopes up as much as I did. 😔 There are a lot of vegan baked goods recipes out there composed of more wholesome ingredients without sacrificing on flavor! Don’t let this recipe dissuade you.
I could just watch Hazel all-day 😍 These brownies look so good, I may try them using something in place of the coconut butter. Have you tried swapping that out?
hahahaha true. Good thing I have a UA-cam channel and not a food delivery service!! Hazel sheds so much we vacuum twice a day and everything is still always covered....
@@sarah_kale that's why i don't eat out. Never know what's going on in those kitchens. The most I do are juice bars where I see them make it in front of me
Question: why baking soda when there's no acid in the recipe? I've seen that in some of your other recipes too. As far as I can see the soda is only adding taste, but no lift in this recipe? Love your videos 💕
Without acid Baking Soda doesn't ad anything but taste. A taste that can be really bad if too much baking soda is added. If you want lift you can use baking powder instead, or ad acid to the baking soda :) Looking forward to your next video.
Cocoa powder is acidic, as long as you don't buy Dutch processed/alkalanized cocoa powder. That's why baking soda works in baked goods that have cocoa powder.

I made these by the recipe and didn't like them :( They tasted like dark chocolate....Is that the goal? I also used organic buckwheat flour but not specifically LIGHT does that matter??
This was so good! I mixed 2 cup all purpose with 3-4 cup almond flour. Added a couple extra dashes of cocoa powder. Added 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce. Instead of coconut butter I used vegan butter, and mixed coconut flakes in the batter. SOOOO GOOOOOODDDD AND MOIST!!

That explains a lot 😅

Just made these with regular flour and they turned out great! Love the coconut butter💛
thanks for reporting back. I don't have buckwheat flour and was hoping something else could be used.

Conscious Crissy hi, any specific seller or brand you recommend for silicone ones?
Could you use regular all purpose flour if you aren't gluten free?
This looks yummy 2 question: can I use milk in place of water and regular all purpose flour?
yes to the milk but hmmm they would likely be very chewy maybe even a bit gummy with AP flour but you could give it a go and see! :)
Looks amazing!
I made these by the recipe and didn't like them :( They tasted like dark chocolate....Is that the goal? I also used organic buckwheat flour but not specifically LIGHT does that matter??
They’re not overly sweet brownies!! But I do find if you don’t use light buckwheat flour it has more of a grainy/earthy taste and texture for sure!

Added 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce.
Instead of coconut butter I used vegan butter, and mixed coconut flakes in the batter. SOOOO GOOOOOODDDD AND MOIST!!

what can I use instead of coconut butter? With the corona situation I can’t go out to buy some 😭
She mentioned any other nut butter :) Which is great. I think cashew butter would work great.
Could you substitute coconut butter with other vegan butter or coconut oil
you could make like cake pops or something like that since the dough seems harder when it's cold!
