I have the Native style in size 32mm with the black and brown vegan leather straps :)
As you might already know, I'm trying my best to reduce my time spent on my phone and on social media in general, so I thought I'd try to go an entire day without it here in Seoul! I rely pretty heavily on maps and bus routes when I'm filming vlogs so this was a bit of a challenge but overall, I felt myself noticing a lot more and thinking (???) more too. I feel like oftentimes I have a thought and then immediately tweet it or text it to someone but since I couldn't do that, the thought got to stay in my mind a bit longer and transform and grow. That's how I used to get all my ideas for short stories so it was nice to have that feeling coming back :) Anyway! I hope you enjoyed this little video and summer is officially here in Korea so pls forgive me constantly talking about how hot it is hahah this wont stop until September at the earliest :')

✨No judgement zone✨what’s your average screen time recently?
cari cakes too much and my teacher told our class we should get flip phones
don't know, but it's 2am so only 2h today ;D
9 hours during quarantine oh noooo
yesterday it was 12 hours... so i need to take some of your advice
cari cakes 3 hrs! but that’s because I use my nintendo switch most of the time haha the past months were about 10hrs D: yikes
So much of Seoul feels just so wholesomely pretty, like all the minimalist design, and cute things, maybe it’s the architecture too 🤔 But just so pretty ✨✨ Idk it’s silly but the aesthetics warmed my heart today lol
💕💕💕
Pre quarantine I honestly barely used my phone but now I’m on it constantly 🤦🏽♀️
I feel you 🤧
I’m averaging 9hrs now 😖
Your videos are the perfect way to unwind before going to bed. Everything looks so beautiful and calming. I’m usually a silent viewer but I wanted to thank you for your constant inspiration🌻🌷💐
Thank YOU! Have a great night 🌙
I'm from Scotland and we are still officially in 'lockdown' mode meaning no travelling apart from essential food shopping, healthcare reasons and only 1 hour of exercise outside per day. Watching your vlogs during this time has helped me so much!. Being able to see the progress that South Korea has made and that social distancing is not a must is a breath of fresh air :).
I would be so scared to go to new places without a phone, but then I think about how literally everyone used to do that 24/7 🤯🤯🤯 Like wowww 😯 So maybe I don’t need to worry quite so much if I prepare~☺️
I went to hong kong by myself in 2013 without any cell phone plan and literally printed google maps out for places i wanted to go and i have no idea how i did it back then ahahhahah i was a lot braver
Try it once! It's liberating! I used to be a flight attendant and moved around Paris, London, Japan..etc with a map and asking people, it just makes you feel so much more IN the moment and connecting and getting a feel of the people EVEN when some may not be the nicest and some go above and beyond. Human connection at another level. It's memorable to this day and you end the day or trip standing a little taller, a little more confident for the next "adventure :)
When you’re having a blah day and Cari POSTSSSS🙌🏾😫🙏🏾
Hope tomorrow is less blah! I literally stayed in bed all day yesterday so im hoping today i at least shower or something hahahha
cari cakes awww haha thank you! And I hear yah haha thanks for creating amazing content but most importantly being human and yourself! ✨💗
6.5 hours per day average gang😎. I spend the rest 17.5 in front of my PC
Honestly same though hahah its horrible!
As a Dane and living in Copenhagen, I feel very proud of how nicely you speak of us and Scandinavian design uwu
Everything is so aesthetic in Korea... I wish to travel back someday 🧳 ✈️
Ok not sure if someone suggested this, but if you can’t Shazam something just record it with the camera then use shazaam later when you’re uploading the footage. It usually works for me unless im somewhere so noisy the music is overpowered by the other sounds.
I’m so happy to hear that the social distancing is not a must in South Korea✨ I wish I was there right now... But things like that give me hope that it will be like that one day on this side of the world😌
I hate using my phone in public, I think I am being rude (somehow🙄) and I like to be aware of my surroundings when I am outside. I like to listen to music when I’m out, but not scrolling.
Btw, where did you get your glasses? I really need a pair of blue-block glasses😬
Such a fun video!🙌🏻 Loved it so so much💖
If I’m with someone I’m totally the same - when I’m with friends or with kurt I could honestly leave my phone at home and it wouldnt matter hahah and they are from glassesusa!!!
her saying "these are vegan leather" is the same energy with "look my dress has pockets"
Your videos always put me in a great mood, but this one, knowing the social distancing restrictions in South Korea have been lifted up just made my day. It gives me hope for the future, and I feel like I enjoy life through your happiness and joy of living! Thanks a lot, loves from Montreal, Canada!
10:47 I love this dudes cafe youtube!! He's amazing with his cream art!
omg i have been binge watching your videos just now, I really like your channel and it's really nice seeing just a normal day around Seoul along with good spots to just relax, enjoy nature or go to a cafe to doodle to, I really want to start solo travelling and after this whole Covid things end I may be coming to Korea soon, there videos are really helpful to see different perspectives of Korea so thank you/
Thanks for watching!
Korea is: Land of aesthetics 💖
I LOVE how you film and edit your transitions! Your videos are so calming !!
Thank you!!
I've got to say, I love watching your videos and getting ideas of more places to see in Seoul next time i'm there!
Sooooo happy to watch this video! I was having a really tough day, your videos always bring joy! Thanksss
Hope tomorrow is better 🥰
This video made my heart happy, the music, the fact you went to watch an Audrey movie and the stationary literally made my heart melt like those mushrooms were soooo cute. You make Korea look so romantic
🥰🥰🥰
don't ever apoligize for posting long videos, I literally live for them!
When I saw that you and the people around you did not wear a mask, I checked the date of your post thinking « it must be a vlog from last year! » this how we adapted to the reality of the quarantine! Thank you for this beautiful vlog, and take care!
Dear Cari as I wrote you on one of your new videos: your vlogs are so pleasing to watch! I love the pictures you capture, the music you use, watching you spending your days. So I am going backwards through your videos and I am enjoying them a lot! Just wanted you to know that it's really nice in times like these pandemic times to have the pleasure of seeing Korea through your eyes. Thank you!
Greetings from Germany.
I want to thank you for being yourself and sharing your life with us. Your videos are healing for me, thank you so much. You always make me feel better❤️
A tip for music, rather than using Shazam you could have recorded a video on your camera for the audio and at home you can take your time getting the lyrics. I used to do that before Shazam came out I used to record the audio on my phone but for the sake of the challenge the camera would work. I have about the same hours of screen time 4-5 hours but there was a time where it went down to an hour a day 😍 sadly the quarantine is not making it easy 😂 So happy to see Korea removing the social distancing and opening up it really does give me hope that things will go back to normal soon
hearing that things have gotten better in Korea gives me a lot of hope thank you Cari
Love the vibes of this video💕😍 wow glad things are slowly going back to normal in korea 🙏🏻
The kitten drink segment had me giggling so much. Exactly what I needed to start my day.
every vlog you post makes me want to visit Seoul even more! can't wait till we are able to travel again ❤
Hi Cari!! How are you?
I really loved this challenge and I really want to try it but now it's kinda hard because I need my cellphone for distract myself while at home. My average screen time these days are 8+ hours 😫😫
I think the hardest time to do it it's when you have nothing to do and nowhere to go. A brazilian youtuber I follow did it for 1 week 😫 I think that is the ultimate goal for me hahahaha
Hope you have a nice week and thank you as always!!! 🥰🥰
Omg yes I’ve seen people go a full week and i cant! I’d love to try getting off of social media for a week but its also sort of my job so 🤧 one day!!
Hey Cari~ you’ve actually inspired me to try the bandana look since I’ve seen you wear it in your vlogs, so I ordered a bandana and we’ll see how it goes 👀 I’m thinking it might not look good cause I have glasses but we’ll see LOL.
Also not gonna lie, I’m really jealous how well things are going in Korea. I’m in the US and it’s hard to stay positive sometimes :( I’ve been feeling really down lately. I really hope we can do normal things again soon like you’re doing 💖 much love from Philly
I’m sure it will look great!! And yeah, it’s honestly really scary over there but I’m hoping it all starts turning around soon. The news is really negative so i try to focus on little things like people helping their neighbors or schools having car parades so the kids can see their teachers :’) not perfect but it helps!
you can definitely see that summer is in seoul! sooo happy!!
Yaaay a video on my birthday! It cheered me up and it was really nice to you be able to go outside properly 😊😊
danish people riseeee !! i have a nordgreen watch myself and i love it so much. this video was so good, thanks cari!
I love your videos I always watch them whilst I eat my breakfast they always make me excited for the day 🥰 tysm for putting sm effort into them
Always love your content Cari! Thank you always for sharing❤️ I can relate to you wanting to go home after all that, I am that grandma as well😴
I LOVED that you went to see MY FAIR LADY on the big screen! I LOVE it too and was thrilled for you! Glad you made it!! I have not been to Seoul since I was 2 (ha, really) and I'm an ESL teacher to Koreans so seeing the city where most of my students are from/live in is really special. Thank you for showing us around all the super cute places! I found your channel from your Scotland vlogs and I'm thankful! We hope to move to Scotland one day and your vlogs were fun to watch with my daughter
The watch that you got look so nice 😭 I love the simple design.
As always, thank you for the video! I really enjoyed it ❤️
I really love it! And thank you :)
Your video filled my Mother’s Day with laughter!
Cari , your vloggs are beautiful , such beautiful music and fantastic camera footage of everything .. I always feel relaxed watching your vloggs as well as seeing wonderful places through your eyes .. Thank you so much xx🥰🥰🥰❤️
Recording/vlogging in public is a lot less noticeable than a camera, because to others they probably think you're facetiming someone on vacation or something. Love the self reflection notes, reminds me of me, especially wanting to know the exact temperature, even tho I know it's cold or hot - I personally think I do this, so when I'm chatting to a friend overseas, I can give them an idea how cold/hot my day was
Love your videos! It has been extra nice lately to get a perspective on how social distancing and stuff is outside of the US. Gives me hope that things will go back to normal here soon!
I've recently stumbled upon your channel and just wanted to share that the videos I've watched of yours so far (about 5) are all so well put together. I really appreciate how genuine you are and how you share both the positives and your struggles, but still remain super optimistic and joyful. I look forward to watching more of your content and wanted to share with you that I've become a fan! Thank you :D
whenever i see that you upload it makes me so happy!!! especially rn when we are still stuck inside here
😘
rewatching this and now im so excited for summer :'))
I really need to do this too!! 😟 It's like I am on my phone from morning till night and it feels like I always have the urge to multitask so I'm watching videos while eating and listening to music while doing something and all that adds up 😫 Also working and learning online doesn't really help haha
I hate that i cant watch a movie at home without checking my phone as i watch 🤧 I’d love to break that habit!
Cari I love you SO MUCH!! have a wonderful day
I just found your channel and I am really enjoying your videos!
Solution for the music in the cafe sitch: just ask the guys behind the counter what they are playing. they probably have control over the playlist or maybe know the song on the radio and then you can just write it down.
I am now obsessed with that candy song. You always have such great music!
Coffee art super cool never seen this before you did awesome job.
My breakfast has never been this relaxing and harmonious 😌
My screen time has been 10 HOURS! 10!! I have been furlouged in england during the pandemic, so i kinda just sit around looking at places that i wish i was. Thank you for inspiring me to make some serious changes.
I'm in love with how pretty your shots are, and how fitting and nice your music selection is, and overall with how of a pleasent experience is to watch your vlogs
Thank you so so much!
love that video Cari! it's so true that we spend way too much time using our phones :(
i've been so much into stationary lately (i've watched all of codyday's videos 😩) and you visiting that cute stationary shop was just the cherry on top ✨
also!!! i think i saw some cafè vlogs by c through!!
i looooved this!! i wanna check out more of 이대 now, i feel like i've only been maybe once before? which is such a shame considering how often i go to seoul. hope you're doing well in the heat!!
I love your choice of music yet again.
hongdae is just... * chef's kiss * i really want to go back one day and explore that part of the city more. thanks for making these vids and lets us travel and go outside through you haha.
Definitely hope you’re back here exploring soon!
during the quarantine i've been averaging between 3-5 hours a day on my phone :( i feel like i use my laptop way more though since my classes and work are all being done virtually! i definitely want to try to cut down on my screentime and this video reminded me that there are a lot of benefits to doing that! thanks, cari! amazing video as always
how good influencer you are! and I like the piano man on the street ㅋㅋ
This really inspired me to take an easy day and not use my phone (after writing this comment tho). Usually my screentime is around 3/4 hours as well, but this week it has been making feel me weird and stressed. Love your vids! ✨💘
WAIT. HOLD UP. There's actually vegan leather????? I'm tearing up right now. I'm so happy. 😭 I'm a pescetarian too. I remember feeling really sad that I had to let go of my favorite leather bag bought from my 1st paycheck, when I became pescetarian; even sadder than not eating meat anymore. And as a meat-lover that means a lot! This made my day. Thank you cari!! 🥰
I don't know what it was (because I love all your videos), maybe that you don't need to do more social distancing, the beautiful sun, the amazing landscapes or that you seemed genuinely enjoying yourself but I LOVED this video. It was fan-tas-tic
Very soothing as, usual ! So brave to go out « without » your phone, i get lost so easily x,D
I want to reduce time on screen too. I am much more fulfilled and thus much more productive. Sometimes it just sucks you in and scrolling become mindless and suddenly hours had passed and you don't remember what you were actually looking at!
It's so amazing to see that South Korea has tackled the virus so well! ...But I'm also so jealous 😫 Hurry up world-wide vaccine
Hi Cari, I've been watching your videos (even with my mom) and i have to say, I do love them, I love their vibe! You are sweet too. Keep up the good work! :)
Cari i really want to say thank you so much for uploading these kinds of videos they are so relaxing and good😍You make my day better💜THNX&LY💜
Thank YOU!!!
im in love with this video. back to me the normal. i miss the old normal. :( songs lttrly like spring+joy+love. i love u so much cari. im go to my room for cyring 💜
i know we dont know each other, but when i watch your videos i always feel like i am with a friend and that i care a lot about you, youre so cute and kind and fun
You posted yay!!!!🥺💜
every sunday and wednesday 8am kst hahahah :)
It is good to hear South Korea is ending social distancing. It's a hopeful step. Here in South Africa we are in 2nd month of lockdown and feeling it. But hope is welcome.
These watches look beautiful and i love the ethics behind the brand, definitely going to check them out!
This video has made me realise how many times I also pick up my phone just to check the time. Wearing a watch is an easy change to make, so definitely going to try and remember to do so :)
My screentime used to be around 3/4 hours as well but now that I’m social distancing there are days where it even goes up to 9 hours, it’s a bit upsetting but at the same time I realize it’s not really my fault. As always, loved this so much and I always love when your bring us around Seoul, especially during Spring time!! ✨✨
my screen time went up to like 7 hours a day (but I do use it for work too)! also it’s so refreshing not having a phone! my phone broke like a month ago and I didn’t get a new one for more than a week! it was very weird, but also such a good feeling! you have so much more time to do stuff you really want to do! but it’s a bit more difficult to get around without directions etc!
yay! you tried C through cafe. So cute latte art
This and the past video I fell asleep before the upload time😩😩😩But instead I got the beeest present greeting me when I woke up😁😅😂🍊☀️Ever since I upgraded my phone for the first time in 5 years my screentime has just spiked! However your insta-post about screentimw really just made me want to get started to deal with that! And get back closer to what my normal used to be. And as a result I have been activally trying to stay away from my phone! Thank you!!😍🍊🧡I have managed to get down my screen time from a number of hours I am not going to say, to 4-5 hours, patt on the back, but will definitely keep workin’ on it! 😂😅😋 Loved this video! As always😋😉Thank you as always for making my day🙌🏻🧡🍊🍊🍊
I was watching your old vlogs rn
🥰🥰🥰
I have a Nordgreen watch, too! I love it. And I love their company like, idea, or whatever.
Hi cari i read 6 of crows after hearing you talk about it and I INHALED It . Super sad I finished it so quickly ( along with the sequel )but it was sooo good. Thank you for the suggestion 🥰
Yessss i feel your pain!!!!
omg seeing you walking in hongdae made me happy cuz you were in the area i lived in last summer!! ive been on my phone so much lately... i am right now actually 😂 i think its important o minimize screen time especially around bed!! the lights can really mess with our minds
ive never been this early wow
just started this vlog, but i already know i will love it !
Thank you!!!!!
Omg you stoped by a store at 14:28 that sells a portuguese toothpaste called “Couto” with the yellow packaging that is vegan and cruelty free and is actually good ☺️
I truly would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart in having the transparency, courage and emotional intelligence to provide genuine content that is extremely relatable vlog, however the toggle button on screen addiction, seems to be stuck on mute. The fact is Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs for self care/aware/& actualization with the obvious food and shelter being foremost, is followed by Human Interconnection as the 3rd rung on the tier to self (positive) sustainability. Exercising mobile mindfulness is a key component to utilizing our greater OS system, the frontal cerebral cortex!! The physiological function of losing what we're not using is a form called atrophy. Your public cognition allows us to practice self care by keeping our EQ alive and well.
Keep up the amazing and relevant work ~
Wowwww... I just love your contents cari... I'm in love with your personality..
I would be a dream come true to be able to spend a day like this.. If ever actually get to live in korea... 😍
First of all, I really liked the content of this video, I'm not used to check my screen time on my phone and after I watch your video I went to my phone and I really got scared, I have days within 12 to 15 hours of screen time... Gosh, I need to fix this. Secondly, I really needed to mention this, but as a Portuguese it was really heartwarming for me to see a portuguese product (Couto) in that shop at 14:43 Thank you for finding that out and also for your videos, they are very enjoyable. Take care :)
Glad you caught that detail 😍 and screen time is so hard to lower especially right now 🤧
Wow my filipina friend asked me to have a look your video and yes it makes people warm and feel like to visit our country much!! Thanks for living in Korea for long time~ i should try it too a day without my phone haha
Ahhhhh that cat latte was the cutest!
watching your videos really makes me miss going out huhu,,, but i really do hope we could all overcome this pandemic😊
I really want to try this out now! I'm impressed that you didn't struggle at all with translating stuff around you. I live in Japan and feel like my Japanese isn't good enough to survive without translating things on my phone so I'm feeling really motivated to get myself to this level!
i speak korean relatively well so i have no trouble with that kind of thing luckily!
I don't know what it is, but I love My Fair Lady. I watch it at least twice a year.
Belle & Sebastian, takes me back.
wow life looks so normal there!!!
oh my god,, this is the first time i watch your video so early. uploaded a minute ago and here i am😭
Hahahha thank you!!!!
6:18 made me think I was watching one of the watch channels I’m subscribed to for a second (I collect them). Good job on how you advertise your sponsor ahah
Also, that looked like an amazing day out and about. I have to do this more often too (leaving my phone home for a day. It will be fine I’m sure :)
Ahhaha thank you!!
So happy to see that Couto toothpaste is selled in South Korea!! Is one of the oldest portuguese toothpaste and is still selled here in Portugal inclunding in your regular grocery store! :)
thats so cool!! glad i stumbled upon it :)
Love your vlogs! Hi from Argentina 💖
omg no freaking way, I just watched your video and the first part when you were walking around Hongdae is literally the way I go whenever I'm heading there ahh we could have been so close :,) on instagram you mentioned you're down for a meetup once Corona is over and I really hope I'll still be living in Korea at this point because I'd love to meet you while I'm here
