This was the perfect "sequel" to your December 2019 Tokyo vlog (which is my all time favorite)! Different and yet it still had your AeStHeTiC! You and Kurt should travel together more often!
the background music choices for these vlogs is just *chefs kiss* so good! it's so fun how something as small as a song choice can brighten my mood but every one in this vlog evokes so much joy ❤
Cari, watching your videos makes me heart fuzzy, warm and calm. This is beautiful, inspiring! I love how authentic and real you are. This is rare to find now.
You know you're up too late when your sunday morning ritual watch turns up in your recommended the night before... Been looking forward to this though!!
Oh I would love a trip to Tokyo. Someday. The Holdovers was great! I loved the LOOK of the movie, whatever filter or film they used. I miss that look from older movies. And Small Things Like These would have a great annual Christmas read. I've been wanting to get her new one.
You know you're up too late when your sunday morning ritual watch turns up in your recommended the night before... Been looking forward to this though!!
That Tokyo mini vlog was super on point, it was beautiful and it made me want to go there even more (Japan is one of my dream trips)! The night time scenes were especially stunning and reminded me of Lost in Translation so much 🥹
I have a friend who works in a cinema and she likes to watch those film festival type of films, so it's not always easy to find stuff to watch together, because generally I prefer something with a happy ending or am in general more of a SciFi/fantasy/superhero/action/thriller movie person who likes to escape reality through that sort of media, rather then explore the dark and hurtful sides of humanity, but on occasion we find movies to watch together that are more the realistic type that I can stomach and The Holdovers was actually one we watched together recently! Call Me by Your Name was another one of those movies we enjoyed together and I remember you liking that one as well.
Love love LOVE Small Things Like These. Cillian Murphy plays the lead in the film yet to come out. Claire Keegan is the master when it comes to less is more in the written word. Foster is also a beautiful read and an equally beautiful film - An Cailin Ciuin (The Quiet Girl). If you want more of the topic at the centre of Small Things, watch the film Philomena (will have you sobbing 😢).
I don't quite know why, but I always find it really soothing watching people go to places like florists and kitchenware shops in other countries when they visit? I like seeing all of the beautiful things, it makes me really happy. I hope you have/had an amazing and healing time in Japan
I'm going to Japan for the first time this autumn and I am THRILLED! I have never made videos, but I'm thinking of doing one; your vlogs definitely will be used as my inspo 💖
That was a lovely video cari! Thanks for sharing! I love wandering trips and just walking around. Sometimes I take a "trip" through my city and visit a neighborhood I've never been to and walk around
Polite Society is a ridiculously entertaining time. Looks like you had and Kurt a good time with in Tokyo. Thank you for including that short of Helloy Kitty and a grandma in a wheelchair. No idea what kind of product that was but so cute.
I was feeling very sad and I had a horrible day, but then I remembered you were going to post a vlog and I immediately came to UA-cam. I already feel so much better, your content makes me feel happy and cozy 🤍✨ thank you Cari
The way I gasped when I saw the scarthin book tote! I live so close to that bookstore, I can literally see it from my house, it’s such a cute bookstore and it has an amazing veggie cafe too! 💕
I love the piggy cafes ❤🐷 Also, unpopular opinion but I think plum blossoms are even prettier than sakura. I am always happy when they start blossoming because it means winter is finally over!
Your vlogs feel so cozy!!! Btw Cari could you please tell me what’s the weather like in Seoul? What kind of clothes should I bring if I’m traveling in the beginning of march????🫶🩵
its been an oddly warm winter so definitely still bring a coat but you dont need a puffer - just a nice peacoat or something with a sweater underneath. I've seen people walking around in just a sweatshirt but its still too cold for that for me hahaha
🐖❤️🐖OMG I immediately started to Squeeee and got tears in my eyes when I saw those little pigs!!! Pigs (and penguins) are my favorite animals, and playing with little baby pigs would probably make me the happiest (sobbing because im ridiculous) person on the planet! 😂🐖❤
So. Because of this vlog I read “Small Things Like These” yesterday, and DAMN 😢. Thank you SO MUCH for your vlog and recommendations! I would never have known this book existed without you 🤷🏻♀️.
I'm looking forward to Spring vibes and seeing the cherry blossoms. (Also, I think your b-roll flips from scene to scene just a beat too quickly because my brain barely registers it before flipping to the next gorgeous scene.)
Ahhh this vlog is so amazing 🥹 I want to visit Tokyo so badly!! I went to Japan for the first time at the end of last year, I visited Kyoto and Osaka and it was the best trip of my life, I miss Japan every single day 😭😭😭
I'll be in Tokyo on the 7th and this video made me extra excited I can barely handle it! I'm so jealous you caught even a bit of snow mounds but I'm looking forward to seeing some cherry blossoms. Love the vide♥!
Hello miss coco!I hope you're internship is going well so far>> This may be a weird question but can i know what kind of internship/company takes you to Japan for 2 months?I am a university student and would love to know the job opportunities that are out there
The music with your Tokyo montage ❤ That looked like a lovely little new year’s trip, and I’m so jealous that you can take a short flight to Tokyo! Do you still get skin treatments? If so, I’d love to know where you go and what you have done because I trust you lol. I want to get a skin treatment in Korea because 1) Korea and 2) they are so expensive in the US, but figuring out where to go/what to ask for is a little intimidating! But regardless of what you do in your vlogs, I’ll always love them ☺️
@caricakes sounds like you had a good experience! My family is from there, 4 generations back. Hoping to visit next year. Your videos make traveling internationally seem more fun and less fraught, so thanks for that.
Here's me sitting with 40+ flavors of tea (bag and loose) in my tea cabinet and always wanting more when I see something new. I also have a thing for tea tins. I understand the want for more. Can we see your tea stash?
Hi Cari, not a question about a new neighborhood but could you maybe let us in on how to plan weekend travel in Korea? I'll be in Seoul for a month in May and I'd love to go see a few things outside of Seoul, but I wonder how to best book train & bus tickets, how much in advance you should do it, if it's hard to find airbnb or hotel rooms last minute etc. Here in Germany for example, it's the best to book everything as much in advance as possible, because it's cheaper that way. Your insight would be highly appreciated! 😊 thanks!
Any Wish Trend box in our near future 😀? Also, this vlog is amazing, as always. And I also love your vlogs that you’ve said you consider mundane. It’s just like having a nice friend in my apartment chatting me up, but I have zero responsibilities. 👍🏼
Hi Cari! Just wondering if you been to Haebangchon? They said that it is great for sunsets and lots of shops as well. Curious about the cups you bought from Tokyo :) Thank youuu
Other bloggers japan hauls: 5000$ purse, Cari: tea canisters
This is why I adore your channel!
if i could buy $5000 worth of tea and tea canisters i would tho hahaha
This was the perfect "sequel" to your December 2019 Tokyo vlog (which is my all time favorite)! Different and yet it still had your AeStHeTiC! You and Kurt should travel together more often!

The day of the week caption changing between Japanese and Korean was a nice little touch 😊
Cari, watching your videos makes me heart fuzzy, warm and calm. This is beautiful, inspiring! I love how authentic and real you are. This is rare to find now.
thanks for being here :')
excellent sunday morning coffee viewing. really enjoyed the atmospheric tokyo footage-didn't need narration. 🗼
Wow that view of Mount Fuji from your return flight!!
You know you're up too late when your sunday morning ritual watch turns up in your recommended the night before... Been looking forward to this though!!
oh no hahahh get to sleep!
last year I've lived in Korea for a year and took time to travel to other countries in Asia, including Japan. Japan is so peaceful and beautiful.
I live in Tokyo and seeing it through your lens is magical. Thank you, as always, for taking us along! ❤
thank YOU as always!

Omg i hope you got home okay with that weird weather!!! enjoy seoul 🥹🥹🥹
07:07 these little streets could also be in one of your Seoul vlogs I feel, there's just something about the style of houses and the power cables.
The way I gasped when I saw the scarthin book tote! I live so close to that bookstore, I can literally see it from my house, it’s such a cute bookstore and it has an amazing veggie cafe too! 💕

I still cant believe it 😭😭😭
Such a gorgeous video!!!
Thank you!
I heard there is a 'crochet/knitting cafe' somewhere in Seoul, Banul Story I think. Would love to see it!
