    Walking back too far is definitely something I do often. Then my whiff punish whiffs and I get punished

    • @ryo-kai8587
      @ryo-kai8587 9 днів тому

      I do this too, and even if you don't whiff or get 2MK'd, needing the longer range of a 9 or 10F HP gives you less time to react than if you are still in range for a 6F medium. You also don't want to have to rely on the "middle ground" of 2MK due to increased scaling.
      I need to consciously work on this!

    @Chris_F is there a standard response to blocking a wake-up 4F jab during the shimmy attempt? I was always trying to walk back enough so that a jab would also whiff but based on this video that probably means I'm walking back too far right?

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  24 дні тому +4

      Waking up with buttons is a counter to shimmy, so in that case you’re going to have to go for a meaty attack.

    Is meaty counter hit C.LP one hit confirmable, or you just input C.MP after the light button either on hit or on block then confirm the first hit 🤔

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  25 днів тому +2

      Totally depends on the character, but generally there isn’t enough time. For example, it’s very possible to react to the ch jab if you’re playing m bison.

    • @ramius525
      @ramius525 25 днів тому +2

      So I checked Ryu's frame data on his 4f moves and adding the active and recovery frames you get 10-11 frames to react to the counter hit icon. 11 frames is about .18 seconds which is below the average human reaction time of .25s.
      I looked up the fastest documented reaction time and it's .12 seconds. So I guess it's possible for people with insane reaction times but for most of us it's probably just a good idea to throw in a medium hoping your meaty jab landed a CH every now and then.

    Great video, does he have anything about opponents that always back roll?

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  25 днів тому +1

      No I don’t bc that varies a lot between each character and each knockdown so it’s a bit hard to do

  • @adm8995
    @adm8995 25 днів тому

    Yo,
    Are you suggesting that we should be able to change the route from a single connected light if it’s a counter hit? Meaning crlp to stmk on counter/ crlp to crlp on normal hit?

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  25 днів тому

      No, just to go for your mp CH link if you think they’re going to push buttons.
      Off the top of my head, I know bison has a LP that has enough hitstop to confirm a CH. Hard, but possible.

    Coming from kof to sf is hard especially with movement, jumps or escape option. I don't even mention throw loops. I feel like I fight underwater.

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  25 днів тому

      SF is def more about small spacing and movement so if you can make that adjustment I’m sure you’ll be fine!

    Coming from tekken to SF6 getting real pressure is the hardest part for me
    I really enjoy all the systems but trying to remember frames when they change on DR or punish counter is hard
    I play Akuma and keep doing HK into d+HP but that DRush only 😂

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  25 днів тому

      My best suggestion is to just remember the frames for your most common CH starters

  • @marcelomurisk
    @marcelomurisk 24 дні тому

    The only problem on search for jab counter hit confirm is if the opponent block you can’t continue the jab frametrap , because of the time you use for see if it’s counter hit

    Any tips on practicing meaty vs jab mash on wake up? Can never keep my shit tight consistently

    • @ghiidra__
      @ghiidra__ 25 днів тому +1

      Try to find meaty setups for your character, otherwise just set the dummy to jab on wakeup and mess around

    • @Chris_F
      @Chris_F  25 днів тому

      Either find an auto-timed meaty setup or practice the manual timing. Auto-timed setups will depend on your character
