  • June 9th 2024 we left for Redmond Oregon.
To attend a motorcycle rally. (MOA) Motorcycles of America, such a great group and fun rallies.
We got to see some amazing places on our trip there and back. We went from extreme heat to a blizzard and back to heat. We were gone for 2 weeks and rode 5,500 miles.
    Watch for more videos.
    Thank you for watching.
    See you soon. ♥️

Oh boy, I watched this the other day. Didn't have time to drop a comment. hehe
I'm assuming you made it to the MOA BMW rally and back safe and sound. I sure wish I could've made it this years rally. But, WORK happens !! 😢
My Uncle Phil was heading out there on his F800GS. Got 300 miles out and had an issue with a front wheel bearing. So, he limped it back home and didn't go after all.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your great trip videos. 🙂

Yes we made it there and back safely. My tires have over 20,000 miles on them and front brakes are shot after a horse ran out in front of me.
Sorry Uncle Phil didn't get to finish the trip. It was a long one.
Maybe next year you can both go, it will be in Lebanon Tennessee. That is way closer!

@Adventureswithmeme That's really good milage out of your tires.
About the rally next year. I probably won't be making that one either if all goes as planned. Missing it will be sad, though, because I saw where it was going to be in TN.
I hit "65" this coming Dec.. So, I'm planning on working until next April and then retiring. Then taking a " Bucket List " up to Dead Horse Alaska on my Lil g650gs BMW, leaving the first of June.
Uncle Phil is supposed to ride up there with me riding his Himalayan.
BUT, since I'll be retired, I'll be in no rush during my trip up there and I should be available to catch the 2026 Rally regardless of where it may be that year. It may be back towards the East again since we heard that they move it each year to a different part of the US.
      East, West and Mid US.
Anyway, glad you made it there and back safely. It's nice that most of your family rides with you and now Jack will be joining ya soon for more than country roads in the future.
      Stay safe out there gurly.

@@MrMike47274 Yes the tires made me nervous even though they looked good. I meant to get new ones before I left, but Honda was backed up. So I was going to get them at the Rally but none of the vendors had GW tires. The brakes drove me crazy with the metal to metal sound all the way home. I am sure I will need new rotors. The bike is 21 years old with 77,000 miles and has never had new front brakes put on. I just put back brakes on for the first time last year.
Congratulations on your retirement! The Alaska trip sounds amazing.
My family and I are talking about Alaska and Newfoundland in our future. They are wanting to go to South Dakota in August for the Sturgis rally but I am not sure if I will go. I have been there a couple times.
I would like to go back and finish the MABDR in September but who knows, I still need to replace the suspension on the Rally. I might ride the XR150L it doesn't need anything done to it, and I am pretty sure I can pick it up if I need too. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a Pogo stick after it breaks in like the Rally did.
      Cheers!

@Adventureswithmeme I think Tweetie has broken some long range records for GWs. I've got to replace my bikes chain, sprockets and brake pads this summer to get 'er ready for next year's trip.
I don't think Phil has done anything to his Honda's suspension. He did buy a larger gas tank.

That's one thing I wish my little bikes had was shaft drive. I don't like dealing with chains and sprockets.
The GW spoiled me on that.
I am so excited about your Alaska trip and can't wait to see videos.
I finally got a passport so I am ready to see some new places.
Did Uncle Phil's Honda already have the shock changed out when he got it? I don't have much problems with mine until I get it loaded down for a two week trip and rough terrain.
