    Thank you for sharing the step by step. Now I'll be ready to do mine when it's needed. I like how you clean all of the parts that you disassembled to complete this task. It shows a person that pays attention to the details and takes pride in caring for his cars. Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing more.

    I like how meticulous you are in your work, cleaning and doing things so accurately and carefully. I have a new (used) 2019 CX5 that need this done badly. I just always can never get 100%, not even 75% of all the old coolant out even after running the heater and getting the engine temp high which I do not like to do.

    Hey FD, great to see a new video of yours featuring the Mazda. I'm your subscriber in Texas who owns two CX-5s, a 2014 model and the other a 2015. Since you hadn't done this service yet, I did a complete coolant flush to my 2014 car last summer. At 50,000 miles (not kilometers) I found this really wasn't necessary as the coolant that came out was as green and sweet smelling as the new FL22 that I put back in. Compare that to the transmission service I did where the fluid was brown and nasty. I took about a week to perform my coolant service as I used a radiator flush chemical that again wasn't needed at 50,000 miles. Once I drained the radiator as you show, I used compressed air to remove as much fluid from the system as possible. Then I added the radiator flush chemical and many gallons of distilled water. All during the week I'd drain the radiator and add more distilled water in order to get out all the antifreeze that was circulating in the engine and heater core. Once I was satisfied that all the old fluid was out I used a cool bit of kit that I had bought to service the radiators on my BMW motorcycles that don't care for ANY air in the system. Google UView Airlift Coolant Refill Tool. I used this tool and one of my large air compressors to literally suck in the new FL22 without introducing any air bubbles. Also cleaned my overflow reservoir just as you but my tank has two lines - one for Cold and the other for Hot. Another super video Felix! Looking for you to change out the water pump belt next (not the easier serpentine belt). Take care!

      Got to get that water pump belt on the crank pulley and push/pull onto the smooth part of the water pump pulley. It will stay put once on there. Then turn the crank while pushing it over. Wear gloves and watch you don’t catch your fingers. Keep cranking. It will catch.

    • @davidpancerz5820
      @davidpancerz5820 3 роки тому +2

      Yep, replacing that belt wasn't hard at all. It's mainly a space issue if you have large hands. And since I changed the spark plugs at the same time, the engine was much easier to crank over. Definitely helped getting that water pump belt on.

    A tip = to drain the reservoir, if you leave the radiator cap on when you remove the cockstop, the system will suck out the fluid in the reservoir while draining. You might need to squeeze the top radiator hose to help the fluid flow.

      Yeah, I did a drain and fill of my transmission at 30K miles for the “Lifetime” (not) trans fluid. New Mazda FZ fluid is sky blue in color, what came out was filthy, brownish stuff, at 30k miles !!! Do not fall for this “Lifetime” or “Sealed” nonsense regarding fluids / lubricants. Changing is simple, and just replace the same amount you take out, plus 2-3 ounces for “stick around” amount on the sides of the catch basin, after measuring. Lifetime means life time of the warranty, for which after they can charge you $6000 for a remanufactured transmission.

    Hi Felix Dan, in regards to the bleeding procedure on your Mazda and all Mazda's you state that owners should remove the radiator cap while bleeding the system. But won't coolant splash everywhere and make a mess out of my engine. As well as that, coolant get"s really hot very quickly and running the car for 5 minutes at 2,500 rpm would definitely have it boiling, especially if the fans kick in. I didn't see you doing this in the video.

    • @GarasiFelixDan

      @@taichihead42 its normal to have some mess spillage while bleeding without the special Tool Spill free radiator filler cup / bucket. Just rinse it off with some water you all good to go. Unless you have the radiator spill free filler tool / bucket then you r save from the spillage mess. 👍🏼

      @@GarasiFelixDanIn the past Felix i have changed coolant on other cars and i never left the radiator cap off. It seems like a really dangerous thing to do and once that coolant gets hot it will shoot up out of the radiator and the spray will go every where. Running the engine checking for leaks and topping up the radiator when cold is far more sensible. Who came up with this idea to leave a radiator cap off a hot radiator also that funnel tool seems unnecessary as well. Unless radiators have changed since the 1980's.

    Hi bro, Is this consider a full flush or half flush? If i recall correctly, the engine is build with tunnels which allow the coolent to flow within to cool off the engine. Hence i saw how mechanic used to insert water pipe n flush out dirty coolent. When doing refill, they turn on the engine so as to see if the water pump has pumped all the water which will gone thru the whole engine appropriately then by refilling the reservoir if necessary.

    • @GarasiFelixDan
      @GarasiFelixDan  5 років тому +3

      Hi George .This service was to replace the coolant only , not a full flush job as its not needed, the car is still 33000Ks on the clock, if you were to have older car with the coolant that hasn't been replace for its life then you will need to do the full flush job just like you mention above perhaps add a radiator flush chemical to help dissolve the gunk and dirt in the cooling system.

      Untuk di video ini sy beli di dealer mazda langsung dan direkomendasi pakai mazda coolant yg ini kata dealer mazda komposisi formulanya hampir sama dengan fl22. Tapi yg sy baca baca dr forum luar spec coolant Fl22 formulanya anti freezenya tahan lebih lama sampai dengan 10 tahun dimana coolant dengan formula biasa hanya tahan sampai 5 tahun. Dan kalau tidak memakai fl22 mungkin hanya harus menggantikan coolantnya lebih awal saja periodenya supaya tidak terjadi penyumbatan / karat pada komponen mesin water pump dan radiator. Tapi untuk mesin skyactiv sangat direkomen untuk menggunakan fl22 dan kalau bisa dapat fl22 di mazda dealer beli aj fl22 ya.
