@stringmanipulator Thanks for your kind comments! My videos are based on the syllabus of the associated board (ABRSM) as I do like the progression in their music theory exams. Have a look at my website (link from my UA-cam channel) which lists all of my videos in grade order. Best wishes.
you're wonderful, man, I just started Music Production & Songwriting. I'm totally confused about the Major & minor scale with the formula, I had checked with many other youtube videos, but I couldn't get much more understanding, and now I'm relaxed, thank you very much for your detailed explanation.
As a retired Electrical Engineer just learning Piano at age 68, your videos are so clear and concise. I'm working my way throught them all. Perhaps you could do a series on 3 Phase electrical theory using the same pedagogy!
Well done!! This video is amazing - it helps me a lot especially now in the times of teaching from home. Very simple and easy to understand. The students loved it!
It's always a warming experience to revisit a presentation on music theory, and in particular the rules that define the tonal sequence of the major scale. Putting his ear to the ground, beginning thousands of years ago, humankind deduced the extremely organized and revealing relationships that formed his theories of the natural sciences. It was inspired humankind, however, that constructed an ordered set of tonal relationships, the 12-tone diatonic scale, for example. From this, a theorized 7-tone sequence laid the major scale foundation from which an unlimited wealth of melodies and harmonies over 7 octaves of pitch would sooth, excite and entertain generations worldwide for centuries to come. Music the oldest and most beautiful way to consumate communication among creative minds. Music the communication mode where one gets to say his play with his fellows all at the same time. Thanks for an inspiring arrangement of one of my favorite tunes: "The Heart and Soul of the Major Scale". PS For those who like applied mathematics: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_key_frequencies
Music Exam on Tuesday and its about tones and semi-tones. Your video was really clear and easy to understand, though you tend to repeat your self at least more then 3 times on each point and it kind of slows the pace of the video
excellent ... finally someone that explain it slow and thoroughly .. do you have some special order in mind when a grasshopper like me are watching your videos? :) .. thank you
Remember that if someone said move a note by a semitone means go 1 key forward i mean move to left to right. But if someone said move by a tone means go 2 keys forward. Example if your in Middle C Key and move by a semitone means go to C# Key. But if someone said move by a Tone means go to D Key if you're in Middle C. Im only talking about the keys in the piano not in the staff. This can help you learn more how to make Major and Natural Minor (maybe) Scales and Chords if you remember the formula like TTSTTTS. I hope this was helpful and understandable because im just a 10 year old kid 🙃. Edit: If you are in a Black Key and move by a semitone then go to the White Key. But if you move by a tone then go to the next Black Key. But if you are in Eb Key (in the Treble Clef) and move by a tone then go to the F Key because there is no such thing as a E# or a Fb Key. And if your at a E Key (in the treble clef) and move by a tone then go to the F# key.
At last someone who can explain this in an understandable way, many thanks
You’re totally awesome! I’ve listened to hundreds of teachers, and you are the first to explain this reversed formula. Thank you so much!

Very helpful, thank you. I finally understand what people mean when they talk about a pattern in a scale
Very clear, thank you. I find the repeats helpful by the way as it reinforces what we have learned without having to go back to the beginning.
I was taught this at school and really didn't understand, the teacher explained it too fast, now I understand it, thankyou!
