You have to do something called playback, it's basically fake playing, the maestro will find out that you havent been playing if you're just there in a rested position with your bassoon.

I accidentally dropped it right before the concert which caused my high E key rod to bend. This kept my high E key up which prevented other notes from being played.
@Polarexpresss ik I'm not the one ur replying to but I'm an oboe player and the reeds I use are Singing dog, they're handmade and I think make bassoon reeds too, they're a bit pricey per usual for double reeds but they are handmade from my knowledge Edit: and they have a website you can check out
@@PolarexpresssI buy them off my teacher because I haven't put in enough time on my reed making game. I know there are places online where you can probably buy them. I've seen homemade reeds on etsy, facebook marketplace, and just when browsing the web but I've never boughten any from there. I'd suggest getting them from a private teacher though.
I don’t think it was your bassoon I reckon it might of been something to do if you’re embouchure because the reed wasn’t vibrating and when the reed doesn’t vibrate that doesn’t make any sound, I think that is the reason why and not because the bassoon was broken. sometimes people forget their embouchure
I was stupid and tried to move my bassoon by its bell because my hands were full and the long+bell joint disconnected from the short/boot joint. The short+boot joint fell to the ground before I could catch it.
@@GaloreShortzz yeah, I got it fixed 2 days after and was able to get it back after 1 day in the shop. (Thank god because I have a concert the day after I got it back + 2 more the following week.)

At a concert what happened to my trombone. I had put the slide in backwards before hand and it slid off WHEN LOW BRASS WAS HAVING THERE SECTION PART.

What part broke

Its likely the bocal, this happened to me but it was during rehearsal, the bocal (metal attached to reed) was swapped and I could play again
