I know this is a two year old thread but I just did my vacuum hoses on my 2009 n54 at 140k miles so wanted to throw some info in here for everyone. #1. The front turbo wastegate was the hardest to do. Take out your boost cannisters and you can get your hand under and pull it off (easy). Putting it back on would have been impossible if I didn't have a mirror to see where the stem was (not easy). #2. The rear wastegate was easy. You can reach down and pull it right up then follow the hose in the clips to the top side. #3. Make sure to use a razor or box cutter to cut the old vacuum lines off on the plastic t-line junctions to the boost solenoids, from the boost solenoids to the vacuum cannisters, the two shaped plastic tubes that run over the engine (if you want to keep them), at the vacuum booster line near the oil filter housing (2 stems), from the other side of the same lines where the go to the bottom of the vacuum cannisters , the vacuum break booster line (one stem), and finally the diverter valves that connect to each other and then "T" off to the manifold (if you still use the original ones). Now my start up and idle is noticeably better and so smooth! Like brand new. And the half engine limp mode 30FF at WOT has not popped up again :)
front was easier for me after deleting the canister...how did you get to the rear turbo wastegate actuator? it seems like the nipple is facking the intake side
Did mine recently. Biggest issue was removing hoses from turbo actuators and my large hands. I could have used a picture of the barb on the actuator. Getting everything back in the clips was also interesting. Thanks for videos I find them very useful!
Perfect timing, preparing to replace the vacuum lines on the wife’s car. She was glad to see this video. Like how you are breaking the videos into sections of the engine. 👍🏼
Just got the 30FE code today along with 3100... gonna clean the solenoids and change the hoses 1st.. they've not been done yet. Love the video! Thank you!
I know FCP sponsors you to a degree and they offer a lifetime warranty; however, platinum cured vac hoses are ideal for the N54 due to the excessive heat the N54 generates from 2 turbo chargers. OEM hoses are probably good for 125-150k for the DD.
I broke my ”breather hose” as you called it 6:12 but cannot find a replacement for it… anyone know the oem number or at least what to search for? Thank you
Hey man, I like ur content. However don't you think, tha those two cold air intake filters are not getting cold air since they are really close to the engine? If it sucks hot air, then the whole cold air intake conversion is contraproductive. I am no expert on this tho', just asking .
D0n_Pietro The theory is that you don’t actually need cold air intakes. If your intercooler is doing its job correctly. It will cool down the air regardless of pre-turbo air temps from the intakes. The intakes he has aren’t cold air intakes either. They just flow a bit better than the stock box as well as reducing engine bay clutter.
So i am on your amazon page to buy the vacuum hose, but i don't know which diameters i need to buy. There are multiple options. so if you can help me get the correct size that'd be great
So I replaced my vacuum lines and i noticed my boost comes in quicker and my waste gate rattle seems to sound very low which I'm very pleased with....but what else should I change to eliminate the rattle?
Also, there is a heck alot more power and the car speeds up to 100 super fast.... mhd stage 1+ fmic and charge pipe with dual cone intakes... 2010 awd n54 manual
@Dubsense Search for "Turner Motorsport". They are based out of the United States, however they do offer international shipping. I do not know how much it will cost you though. Good luck.
I’m so fucken confused so the vacuum line for the BOV needs to be upgraded to 1/4 id and the other vacuum lines are just upgraded to be thicker od but not wider from the inside?
Hi BMW Fanatic. Just a quick question: I’m looking to buy a 335i and I was wondering which maintenance schedule you use to keep your BMW in such good nick? I’d appreciate it if you can maybe share a link. I also want to use it to see if the BMW I want to buy, considering mileage, will have to go through a major service soon and how expensive my next service will be on the car if I do proper preventative maintenance. Thanks for the vids. Greetings from South Africa, Pierre.

Jeffrey Kernan Yeah I can definitely see that being a little of an issue
Had the same issue when I did mine. Especially the front turbo.

Diggin' these videos, sir.👍 Congratulations on surpassing the 20,000 subscribers milestone.🙌👏 Cheers!
Thank you 🙏🏻👍🏻
Only show how to change the easiest line. Let’s see you replace the line under the valve cover going to the turvoes
Great vid man.. made it really easy for me to buy what i needed for this job
thank you for the video from egypt 👍
Hey is it just air in the vacumm hose or some liquid as well
I think i need a oil catch can lol
Nice....wondering do they come in different colors?
Other companies do sell the 3.5mm hose in any color - probably not with FCp
How many total vacuum hoses are there?
i just saw your vid, is 3mm possible to fit?, thx for your vid man.
I broke my ”breather hose” as you called it 6:12 but cannot find a replacement for it… anyone know the oem number or at least what to search for? Thank you
What Diameter Vacuum tube?
How many feet did you order to replace all the lines ? How many mm is the hose ? Any part number would be helpful.. thanks!
Can you tell me where the hose connected to the T on the intake snorkel goes or what it is used for? i broke it off while changing my diverters.
Can bad vaccum lines cause boost leak ??
god yes
Where's the video to change the vacuum hose to the turbos?
How much will cover the n54 motor 10 feet ?
are there other videos you made for the other lines?
WHat is the brand of the vacuum tube?
Hi! Love your videos, so informative and helpful👍🏿 I was just thinking that when is the second part of the vacum line DIY coming? Thanks.
Nice how to video.

I tried going to the link you said to go for the hose but it says that the page doesn't exist anymore :(
At 6.13 what is that hose called? Mine is broken..
Where could I get another T I lost mine
So i am on your amazon page to buy the vacuum hose, but i don't know which diameters i need to buy. There are multiple options. so if you can help me get the correct size that'd be great
.1375" Inner Diameter (3.5mm)
Is the serpentine belt easy to do ? Mine squeaks only on cold starts
heatchamps2011 Make sure to check if it's your idler pulley. Very common problem in the N54/N55 platform.
heatchamps2011 it’s not too shabby - just have to make sure that Belt is on correctly and everything TQ’d down
i just changed mine and it squeaks
So I replaced my vacuum lines and i noticed my boost comes in quicker and my waste gate rattle seems to sound very low which I'm very pleased with....but what else should I change to eliminate the rattle?

Can’t wait to upgrade mine
What is the inner and outter diameter of Line and are there colours available want it in red
Dubsense 3.5mm for this hose - you would have to find that same size in a different color
Dubsense Turner has colored vac lines
Timothy Hughes who is turner? Any links available please. I'm from UK

When are u doing part 2
Thanks showing us,
Did you bought 4mm or 6mm ? are 6mm hoses better ?
3.5mm

Tore up my hand doing the wastegate ones. It was a pita! Lol
I just replaced all my vacuum hoses on Friday and on Saturday somebody ran me off the road and totaled my car.

Pierre Ackermann he already made videos for all those questions already, scroll through there is a lot of info in his channel
Yeah check out my playlists as I share that check list - I know it’s within my top 5 reasons to make your bmw last longer
BMW Fanatic thanks for the reply, I’ll check it out for sure!
Hi mate!, If I see right you removed the vaccum canister for good is that fine ?, any difference in turbo response ?, thanks !
Can that cause a drive train malfunction
boost leak means low power / less boost than you would hope for.
Godamn i thought I was subscribed all this whole time smh
👍
5/5
Engine so clean I could eat dinner 🍴 off it.
Of course 😉
Are you kidding? His gloves were filthy. That engine is dirty as hell. No idea how he get so much grime on his hands so quickly.
FCP Euro is garbage...I have a bad experience with them. I honestly wouldn't recommend them.
not even for sparks?
How on earth have you had a bad experience?
Some rock would be better than this hip hop stuff. :)
Yeah limited of music choices since it can’t be copyrighted
