Knowing the background too makes it hit harder. The song is about singer's sister who died from a drug overdose. The whole song is about how much he loves and misses her and how helpless he felt/feels.
@@yumeko88his sisters definitely alive, i recall her replying to comments on a tik tok claiming the same story as this comment. as well the singer taylor always talks about her on his podcast, definitely alive lol
I’m 36…this hits me right in the nostalgia feels even though it was made in 2013. Definitely has the late 90s/early 2000s feels. Brings me back to my teenage years. P.S. I loved east west when I was young. I still have a bunch of their stuff on my playlists. My 16 year old likes it too which I think is cool.
Gen Z here! (23) I grew up with shoegaze/grunge because of my older sister. I was throughly surprised it came out in 2013; my guess was 1999-2002! It’s awesome, I love the is whole album! Thanks for the awesome review! 🤘🏽
i ABSOLUTELY love this kind of stuff, feels at home. just found you through this song and the "reactions" are nice, i really enjoy yalls commentary :))
I heard this song about a month ago and have since been so obsessed with it, it’s just beautiful - began covering it with my band at gigs and it’s a joy to play
I saw superheaven back when they were still daylight at a 50 cap with Halfling and one of ned Russin’s side projects in like 2013. So weird that they’re getting traction on tiktok now. Run for cover records were absolutely on fire from like 2010 to 2016.
I guess I’m gen z but had young parents, I was inundated with everything that would influence Superheaven and bands alike. Y’all should check out Crawling Into You by Soul Blind. Cheers 🍻
this sound started with bands like Failure in the mid 90s. If you like this, listen to Failure's Fantastic Planet album. I love that the music I listened to and loved in my early 20s is now coming back and we get revivalist like these guys.
I am getting failure and hum vibes, which are two of my favorite bands! I just found these guys which is crazy because they must have just slipped under my radar because this gives me shoegaze vibes like crazy and I love that! I hope these dudes come back like Hum did with their latest album inlet. This is awesome 11/10
This song is awesome so is the band. I first heard this song on a dumb meme too. It really stuck out. I looked it up, and... Well, I fell in love. On first listen I thought this song came out late 90's to early 2000's. But, nope... It captures that era of music perfectly and, I just can't get enough. I am definitely getting their CDs when I get the chance. Yeah... Call me old school, whatever. I still rock CDs. Even though I'm not old, just 19. I prefer this music. Parents raised me with some epic music. This stuff is my Jam!

The sister died?? Is it confirmed?
This story is very heavy, unfortunately it is the reality of many people who are badly influenced by false friends. 😔

That's so cool that you listened to East West-- great band! Thank you for the comment.
This song single-handedly propelled me into the 2010s and older grunge/heavy rock phase again, so good
I just found this song one hour ago… it’s the minor tones in the singing that so disgustingly well hits with the guitars.
It brings nostalgia
I love this song!

I listened to this in my teens. I’m 33 now. I miss that genre

Nice! I know Chevelle but I'll check out Hum-- thanks for the comment.
