  • Gary talks about the XP Deus II and how to set it up for searching wet sand!
    - On the beach we recommend the 28cm (11") coil, it offers good coverage and a good compromise between weight / performance / stability on a wet beach where iron pollution is generally quite low.
    - On electrically conductive terrain such as beaches saturated with seawater, FMF® will not generate the instabilities of a single-frequency detector and will therefore be able to detect deeper with much greater stability.

    Well done Gary. I got my XPD2 to the beach. Both coils worked great. Had to make a adjustments, just the normal stuff and what a smooth platform. Actually found jewelry with both, but I more wanted to see the performance myself and get a handle on it. Hunted the Treasure Coast of FL with it.

    Hi Gary, just wanted to reach out and see if Deus is changing the lower rod for Deus 2? I have the detector but the way it flexes in the surf is terrible. It’s great for land but not water, and it’s a water machine. Just checking in to see, thanks for all your hard work on the videos

    Always enjoy your videos Gary, thanks!
    The magnetic says accept or reject. You said on or off. I know I have a 50/50 chance here, but it might have been easier to say "accept or reject" instead of "on or off".... I'm thinking I'd want reject to be enabled, please let me know if I have it backwards.

    I'm on the beach very frequently almost every day one thing I've noticed is that in the surf they need to make a lower shaft something more stable! the lower shaft flexes way too much in the surf great machine but they need to address this and make a lower shaft that doesn't flex so much! Good video as always Gary 👍🦀

      You can purchase a longer middle stem Ref D04L which allows more of the lower stem to overlap within allumium middle stem further, resulting in less whip. Cheapest option.

    • @Findingwithfrequency

      @@RegtonDetectors it's up in the shaft good it's not actually the length that's the problem it's the composition of the material of the lower end it twists terribly in the surf 👍🦀

    I have a general question. I have owned a D2 for around a month and I've enjoyed using it. I've only found clad but that's fine. My question is predicated upon a comment, that is, I've noticed a type of light refraction on the screen of my unit. It is probably just built in to the glass on the face of the unit itself but it distorts my ability to see the face of my screen. It creates wavy patterns in the glass and I have to change angles to see the screen.
    Do you know anything about this or have any suggestions to reduce or avoid it? thanks.

    Hi Gary - great video as always but kinda strange seeing you at the beach after forever seeing you on farm pasture. I see the Deus 2 is now available on places like eBay and the internet along with some accessories. My question is how much longer before we can order an optional coil ? My Deus 2 came with an 11” which I can’t use on all my sites. I’d really like to order a 9” coil but can’t get a straight answer from local distributors. Watch out for those seagulls !

    I have made a beach program in beach sens and i have set my Salt Sens too high i think . I use it like normal sens and set it to 9 . Thats coming down right away LOL
    My beaches have high EMI , Iron and all other trash , I shall check the other settings too. Wondered why it was a bit unstable. Thanks Gary.
    I also use Square tones in Full . I think they are better for beaches than the normal Deus tones. Though if there is too much Iron nails about i would reduce to 2 tones Like i do with the E.Trac in 2 Tone Ferrous.

    Good info. But, some questions you might address in your next video... In shallow saltwater, might one be able to use either beach mode? Say standing knee to chest deep. Or will Dive mode only work? Next, when in shallow saltwater, is one supposed to ground balance and why? Because I never had to GB using my Excalibur or 3030. I thought multi frequency machines didn't require GB? And again wonder if doing a GB in saltwater works? Lastly, regarding the red dive plug... if one remains in shallow saltwater surf say 2 to 5 foot, for hours at a time, will the black plug leak and should the red plug be used? Why not use the red plug always? I ask because 3 of the same competitor units flooded in an average of 4' surf depth. I know what the manual says about the plugs, but am still not sure as a Deus II owner when to swap plugs? I mean with the standard black plug, in shallow surf for hours, could it flood? Thanks.

    • @akerhun
      @akerhun Рік тому

      I use the black plug for shallow water hunting, even in neck-deep water. Also for snorkeling. For hours and no problems with it. If the red plug is inside, the remote control may swell if it gets very hot. for example in a car.
      I have a problem with soil leveling in water, especially in fresh water.

    OK here’s a question that I’ve asked and nobody seems to understand what I mean,but is hunting the wet sand the same for fresh and saltwater beaches? Is any wet sand considered mineralized or more conductive? I would really like to see a video on doing settings for fresh water and freshwater beaches.

    • @fishinfrenzyoutdoors
      @fishinfrenzyoutdoors Рік тому

      To answer your first question no. In my experience fresh water beaches are not conducive. I have hunted fresh water beaches in park mode and submerged in fresh water in park mode. No issues at all.
      Now when you try his in wet sands on salt water beaches or the salt water itself it’s totally different game. That’s where you will need to utilize your three beach modes 👍
