    I ran the deus light for 5 years. I was gifted the deus 11 . It has gone wrong for the second time in three months. It came out of the box wrong. It doesn't compare to the deus. My finds rate has fallen through the floor. My good lady and I go out together and her finds are way more and better than mine. I used the light on the same field last week and probably found more the I did in three months on the deus 11. I presume it is operater incompetence. But give me the light any day. Thank you for a great video. Many thanks wasp and Helen 🐝😷

    Hi Gary. The information you provide is incredibly helpful to anyone just starting out with the XP products. Very well done. Making videos easy to understand like this is a true asset to the XP brand. You have made my life easier for sure and cut the entire learning curve down on the Deus 2 for myself already, & I’ve only just made the switch to XP and picked up the D2 machine in December. I always take a blank hammered or cut half with me when on a new field. Drop it in a relatively deep hole and swing the deus over it, adjust accordingly till the settings can handle the ground. I always think that if I can pick up a small hammered then the bigger targets are going to jump out anyway. Just keep an ear out for the little wisps that could be something at depth. But I’ve found Palaeolithic flints on the surface so not sure depth really matters as much as everyone thinks. (Maybe old pasture yes)

    Gary as ever an excellent and informative video, thank you!
    All always regard metal detecting as a game of odds,,,, the more targets you can dig out of the ground then theoretically, eventually a great find will appear, this has been my approach for years, for me personally to achieve this searching most agricultural arable land, I run high levels of reactivity, (set at 4 or 5) some silencer, some bottle cap reject, this approach settles the machine down,, a “stable” machine is good! Depth has always been a little overrated in my opinion, in fact the vast majority of my fields are so iron infested depth is simply out of the question anyway. And finally don’t forget, each year a field is cultivated new targets will appear that were undoubtedly masked by iron!
    I’m loving my Deus II, keep up the great work Gary.

  • @Reinforcer82

    What were you trying to demonstrate? That you get more signals with a deeper setting? But that's exactly what I want. Of course you have to swing a bit slower to get the good signals, but you were too fast. I'm not just a cherry picker, on some sites I want to get everything out of the field.

    People keep comparing the Deus and the Deus 2 and expecting to have the same machines and they are not the same machines. I look at it this way, if the D2 had a totally different name it wouldn’t be compared to the Deus nearly as much as it is.
    I treat the D2 as it’s own beast because it is. I keep the knowledge that I have on the D1 tucked away for when I need it again,but I try not to bring it out and apply it to this new machine because I’m afraid I’ll run into trouble and not get the full potential of this new machine. If it was the same as the D one there would’ve been no reason to come out with the D2.

  • @James-lj7rm
    @James-lj7rm 2 роки тому +1

    With the difference of the reactivity settings should you not slow down the swing? A fast swing with a high setting, I would think, would pick up shallower targets. The less reactivity with a slower swing would pick up the deeper targets and less chatter. Your swing is pretty fast for the lower reactivity. Would you want distance (area covered) or depth?
