Thank for the encouragement in the comments. We made this video to answer some of your questions and to tell you what's next. Please check it out. ua-cam.com/video/7W0vhAXxCLQ/v-deo.html
From a fellow large person and cruiser know how you feel I have lost weight in the past it's not easy but you'll thank yourself for going through it you can do it!!! Your on the right track eat right and get exercise that's how I did it and DONT look at a scale you'll have times that you'll not lose weight as you gain muscle and that will just frustrate you best wishes and again YOU CAN DO IT
La Lido Loca just came across your video. If you’re serious about changing your lifestyle and sounds like you have goal to work towards and are motivated, have a look at the keto diet. I tried it and after just over a year of changing my life I lost 120lbs, now at my goal weight and still following the diet as it’s more a lifestyle change. It’s really easy, from my perspective, and the food you can eat is really good. Once you get over the carb addiction you really don’t want to eat all the ‘crap’. Good luck and god speed.
Go on a "No Carb diet" don't like that go on a "Carivore Diet".. Just Google Carivore Diet there are so many success story\ies. I am one of them 265 lbs. in two months 215 lb.
I found out.... AFTER blowing out a knee.. That unless you are UNDER 40 BMI, no matter your age, you are at a higher risk of a total knee or total hip replacement failing.
You know you should never feel embarrassed around me buddy. We're going to have a blast on the cruise. Glad your getting some exercise because I want to be able to cruise with you and Jen for many years to come
You are going to have such a great trip, I did the same trip on Princess some year ago and physically quite tiring but marvellous. Tony is such a cool guy.
So much "clickbait" on UA-cam. And so refreshing to see real honesty and transparency about something that affects so many lives. Good things happen to good people. You can see all of the love and support you both have in the comments. It's going to be difficult, but you'll fight this battle, and win it.
He has support because he's acknowledging his issues and not finger pointing. His attitude is positive and great to see and that's why people want him to do so well 💙
I just about cried reading this. I’m in the same shape. I want to do things I’m physically not able to do. You are giving us hope. Let’s all work together to get in better shape. ❤️
I spent the last 25 years at around 300lbs. A friend of mine did it, so I decided it was time. I dropped 80lbs in a little over 6 months. Did it perfectly healthy and never felt bad or starved myself. It takes a change, it takes determination. I'm at around 220lbs now, came off my diet at Thanksgiving but monitored, gained back about 10lbs. Going back on now to drop to between 190/200lbs. The main thing I did was cut all sugar and sugar substitutes, went to a vegetarian diet and got on the scale every morning and every night to see where I was.
Cudos2u that's impressive. I've always struggled with my weight put bounced around between 200 and 250. Eye doctor is much happy when I'm around 200-220 sounds like your efforts were outstanding way2go during the pandemic I gained 15 pounds I'm on my way back down I've lost 9 lb 6 lbs to go
Definitely teared up watching this, Tony! Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing a message that makes people feel not so alone in their struggles. We believe in you!
Thank you for being so open, Tony. It’s not easy to admit, let alone discuss. You guys are the bomb and I love watching your vids. Have a great time, Tony and Jen!
First cruise I was nearing 375...looked at my formal night picture and said to myself something has to change. Just went to Mexico on Carnival Splendor and weighed in at 297. It's all about lifestyle changes and dedication. Sure I have the occasional burger or fried chicken, but then I'm back on it. You got this!
Congrats sweets 😙 I lost 7 stone a few years ago and it's so hard to do but I'm now 10 stone and I eat what I want and if I'm having a heavy meal il jump to a light one following. I've been fat, I appreciate how good food actually is 😀😀
@@janeholgate7220 Hi Jane, Well done! 7 stone is fantastic. I have life long weight issues but am now in a fairly good place, having lost a similar amount. 👍
I just saw this video and it broke my heart. I could have written this. So many of us struggle with weight. I was 360, lost to 180! Back up to 250. Struggle, always. I Feel the pain of missing out on things. I have many of my own “too fat” stories. Thank you for awareness of what we feel like. I agree that we can joke about it to feel better for the moment which I do, but reality is still there. I love your approach to life and for helping us move forward. Thank you!! 💕❣️
Thanks Tony for sharing. One doesn't know the struggle until your in the midst of it. I will soon be 49 years old and I am dealing with weight issues myself. So thank you buddy.
I’m supposed to cruise in Jan and currently weigh 360. I’ve lost 90 lbs so far. My wife is worried about all the walking. I’m hoping to be about 330 by Jan. I’m hoping I can do it. I’m up to walking about 1.5 miles a day.
I'm currently in the same boat , i weigh 360lbs (July 21) and i have a cruise in January. I'm trying to get to 330 or less 🤔. Did you get down to your goal weight?
I think that the great thing you have done is set yourself a challenge of getting fit for your next cruise, which is far enough ahead to be a realistic and achievable. I have done something similar regarding my fitness for a cruise next February on Azura with my friends and family and according to my doctor it is working, I also feel better physically and mentally as well. You and Don are without doubt the best Cruise Bloggers, this is also about your long term fitness for life...best of luck...Stephen from Bedfordshire England
Tony thanks so much for your sincere, honest and heartfelt video. You are so right everybody is valuable and deserves to be treated with respect regardless their weight or appearance. My husband and I are both overweight, we started on the Keto diet on February 13. My husband started at 350 lbs ...... he's already down 60, I started at 230 lbs ..... I'm down 40 lbs. We are eating what we are supposed to and not eating carbs or sugar and we are feeling so much better. Keep up the good work and I know that with discipline you will lose all that weight and get healthy. I enjoy your videos very much. God bless you. Say hi to Jenny!!🤗
@@tenngirl1976I'm not the person you wrote- but I've lost over 80lbs and kept it off for three years with keto. Here's a good presentation by Dr Westman from Duke University ua-cam.com/video/GH9IZHnyr2I/v-deo.html It's long and filled with a lot of great information. There is a woman-specific subreddit on reddit for keto called r/xxketo that has a very helpful community. Diet Doctor is a good website for keto/low carb recipes and meal planning. They have some free videos as well as paid ones, so heads up there. There are a lot of people trying to make money off keto- but don't worry. It's really simple. There are a lot of 'keto items' for sale in stores now- you don't need them. You can just eat food without need for special shakes or any pills or whatever the newest trend is. Keto is free.
@@tenngirl1976 Dr, Ken Berry on UA-cam as well as Dr Westman (someone mentioned his name below. I eat real food .. Dr Ken Berry ketogenic 101 a good place to start. I am 1yr into this way of eating, reversed my diabetes & off medications. LIFE CHANGING!
You can do anything you set your mind to, you have a whole loca family behind you! My household is on the same journey and we will all do this together! We are using intermittent fasting, low carb, good fats, and moderate protein to reach goals. Hubby is down from a 48 waist to a 38, I am down 8 sizes also! You got this! ❤️
Tony you are a brave man you keep it real and don't sugar coat living life as a Big Guy good luck , I struggle with my weight also and I'm also on a diet before my next cruise in November
Tony thanks for sharing this. I am so proud of you for being honest and sharing your true emotions. I had gastric bypass due to health issues. Life as a bigger person can be so difficult sometimes. And people judge without having a clue why we are the size that we are. Be yourself and enjoy your life. I think you jumped to the top of my favorite cruise guys now! Just because you are so real, I like you even more.
Tony, Thanks for sharing this with us. I have many of the same issues as you mentioned and also trying to reduce weight and exercise more. You do what you can to make yourself feel better but you must continue to enjoy life. We are here to support you and each other for a better cruising life. Thanks
Water aerobics is a great way to exercise if overweight. You both always look so beautiful in your outfits when you cruise. Thanks for being so honest.
I just started following you a few months ago and now I finally realize how cool you are! I always enjoyed your videos, but now I have a sincere respect for you. It had to be difficult to make this video. Thanks for being so real and touching my heart in such a profound way.
Thank you Tony. You are such a sweet, sensitive man who understands so much. I just want to thank you and Jenny for your wonderful videos. As an overweight person myself, it’s so comforting to know I should never deprive myself of a cruise vacation. My husband and I would love to meet both of you someday!
You will do it Tony!!! I did not say you can do it I said you will do it!!! There is a difference in mindset when you say I will!!! So proud of you!!! It is just the start to the new you!!!!
Wow! “Every person has value no matter what shape” so uplifting It’s amazing and refreshing to see honesty and transparency on UA-cam! You are an inspiration to so many, thank you for sharing the unpleasant and for showing us how to live with integrity (atleast that’s what I got from the content).
At the start of this year I made a huge change and have lost 40 pounds so far and have another 30 to go. My motivation was knowing that my kids want to do things with me, and my weight made me tired and not so much fun for them. Now we have made exercise something we try to do together and I know my pictures from this year's cruises will be better of me than they were last year!
Thanks for sharing...been there and done that. Got pulled off a rollercoaster with my kids when the safety bar would not close over my stomach. Uggg. Anyway, struggled for 10 years about weight loss surgery. Finally did it at age 55, lost 135lbs. I don't preach it but for me it saved me from uncontrollable diabetes and inimint kidney disease and dialysis. Thank you again for sharing your story and what our struggles are.
We just came back from a 4 day cruise. We knew we were out of shape and it would be rough! We have another in September. We are now working to lose weight before we leave again. My husband threw his hip out dancing! It was more than a wake up call for us. Just the walking at Ports kicked our butts. Major eye awaking for us. Best of luck on your effort to get in better shape. We are doing the same thing. I'm gonna keep my eye on you. Cheering you ON!!!
Thank you for opening up to us. I’m on a start of a lifestyle change as well. Please keep us posted on your progress we all can help lift each other up.
Tony....i sure hope jenny doesn't mind this but you've just won a lot of hearts. Been struggling with this issue most of my life and on this last cruise i decided things had to change. Haven't told anyone that I'm trying to lose because then there is their expectation of what's gonna happen....more pressure. I've lost some and it's not easy. You've got so many people pulling for you. Ty so much for doing this for so many of us and especially you!
Wow, did I need to see this today. I’m 140 days out for my cruise and I’m so tired of passing on all the things you mentioned. You have given me the kick in the butt I need to finally loose weight to be able to enjoy my next cruise to the fullest!!! I’m pulling for you on your journey and here’s to Living La Lido Loca!!
Tony out of all your videos I think this is in the top 3. The honesty and vulnerability gave the content of this video a twist. Thank you for keeping it 100%
Hi Tony, Stay with it mate! I too was very heavy, I was over 320 pounds 21 months ago and in quite poor health. I retired early in my fifties and we moved to Spain (from the UK). I, like you I suspect, was fed up with being the 'fattest person in the room' in any given situation. Mainly, because of health concerns, I decided to lose weight, I don't really have a goal, weight-wise but being a life long dieter my weight has been up and down, so I knew it wouldn't be easy. In the end I decided to take it day-by-day and see how it went. Incidentally, my daughter, who is a doctor, one said to me "It takes years to put on weight and it can take years to lose it". That has stuck with me and if I don't lose a set amount every week I don't obsess about it. I don't drink anymore but that is because I've been ill and just don't fancy it. We have a simple eating regime, Breakfast, low sugar cereal or toast sometimes. Lunch is usually some type of Ryvita, or similar, with perhaps paté or a little cheese on it, with fruit afterwards. Dinner, a smallish meal. We avoid a lot of fats, butter etc. I don't eat much meat anyway and enjoy fish. Sometimes we'll have a salad sandwich and some soup. It is true that your stomach gets smaller eventually and you can't eat as much as you used to. I have to mention eating less and cutting out sugary stuff gave me quite bad headaches for a few weeks but that wears off after a while. We don't count calories but stay away from high-calorie stuff like fats, sugar, cakes, biscuits (cookies) etc. We keep away from much bread, pasta, rice and potatoes, fries etc. Although we do have small amounts sometimes. Every few weeks we treat ourselves to a take-away. Pizzas etc. Now we are used to eating less, we share a pizza between us. We usually get four pizzas delivered and freeze the ones we don't use. I think eating sugary based things is the worst thing for making you feel hungry. All in all I have lost over 100 pounds and weight loss is quite slow now, I am OK with that, as long as I'm not putting weight back on! Lol. One thing I have found useful is to monitor my weight using a spreadsheet (the free Google Sheets). I weigh myself every couple of weeks or so and enter it on the s/s, I suppose I'm a bit of a nerd in that respect Lol. Best of luck with your dieting efforts, I have sub'd to see how you get on. Regards.
Thank you for sharing this! Yes, we all have value! Never forget that! I totally get it! Yea, I got teary as you spoke. Never give up! You got this!I gained a bunch of weight over the last couple years and now its finally coming off; with a lot more to go its really hard to do. I keep telling myself I'm worth it to feel comfortable in my own skin. Bless you for sharing the struggle! You are awesome!! ❤
Don is so sweet that he would never want you to be embarrassed. I started noom 5 weeks ago and have lost 9 lbs so far. I don't work there and have no affiliation. But I like it because you choose your food, there are noom coaches, daily info help you learn about why we eat what we eat etc. I'm doing it with the coach and group so its interactive and there is support from other people trying to lose weight
Thank you for sharing this difficult topic. I have been heavy most of my life and when I would fly I would quietly ask the flight attendant for a seat belt extender...I was so embarrassed. In May 2018 my granddaughter was born and I saw a picture of myself and I was horrified..I was 311-lbs, the heaviest I have ever been. I decided that I would not be able to keep up with my granddaughter so I started eating better and dropped 45-lbs...managed to keep it off until June 2019 when I went back to weight watchers and have now lost a total of 94-lbs...I still have a ways to go but I’m doing it and enjoying my new found freedom...❤️❤️❤️
Hi Tony, you are one brave young man. It takes a lot of courage for you to share your story to hopefully help someone. I stumbled across this video quite by accident. I too, struggle with weight issues. My wife and I are going on our first cruise in January 2020. As your message resonates with me, I am now committed to get in shape and lose weight to ensure I maximize my fun on the cruise. Many thanks to you for being the stimulus for my action! I hope you know how much you have helped me! I wish you all the best and I’m sure you will have a blast on your upcoming Asia/Pacific Cruise. Thanks again my friend. Ed
Your videos on this topic inspire a lot of us. Last year I used the motivation to eat a little healthier on my cruise; even with 5 specialty dining meals, I kept my weight in check. Now prepping for my two 2021 cruises, I have my daily weight loss goal charts and I'm (mostly) on track. 140 days til my (hopefully) next cruise and my goal of being down 34lbs from today! Thanks Tony for your meaningful vlogs!
Oh man, I can relate. Been big my entire life but for a few times where I lost but later regained. We go on our first cruise in August and am committed to get in better shape for it. I’m here cheering you on 100%!!! 👊🏻👊🏻
I apologise in advance if I sound preachy. I used to be, and still am, but less so, fat. I gained the weight young and had to change the quality of my diet profoundly aged 18 (am now 19) to fix it. Nowadays the quantity regulates itself and it has ever since. I do need to buy a pair of scales. It turned out I was glucose intolerant and verging on diabetic. I fixed it (not knowing that was my problem) without ever having to count calories directly. So, are you willing to try something strange (really two strange things)? The first, optional leg of this attack on metabolic syndrome: don't change the diet just yet. buy a glucometer, test yourself before and 1h after every time you eat. If the premeal number is over 5.5 (99 in US numbers), there's too much glucose parked in your body at idle and the 2nd part of the equation will be extra important. If the postmeal is over +2 (+36 in US numbers) from the premeal, you may've eaten too much glucose (sugar, starch). The second leg of my attack on metabolic syndrome is an eating pattern characterised by fatty meat, cheese and other full-fat dairy, eggs, organs, nonstarchy vegetables, and being devoid of grains and potato. It's sort of like the Atkins diet, but less protein & more dietary fat, and without the stairway to find your glucose tolerance threshold, since an excess of protein can make you feel sort of sick, and many people find that the glucose stairway throws them back into the pit of fire that is sugar dependence. This part of the equation is what thinned me out. I have felt hungry along the way but it's not the ravenous caloric deficit hunger most dieters know and that I had before the pattern shift. It's normal person hunger. I eat meat, dairy, eggs, veggies if I want them and offal if I want it til I'm full, then I stop. Dessert happens (with artificial sweeteners) but it's strictly for emotional reasons. Otherwise I can eat twice a day and feel fine. Hunger is noticeable but doesn't cause hangry syndrome. It's not your fault you're fat. This protocol isn't a silver bullet and you can mess it up, but you'd be hard pressed to. Any diet, if it is made of food normal people eat, is safe to try for 4 weeks. If you think my advice is going to work, give the second leg of the metabolic syndrome protocol I follow (I actually added the 1st leg a year and a half in) a shot, with or without the first leg.
Thank you for bringing this up and letting so many know that that they are not alone in the struggle to deal with their weight and size issues. A lot of us see these skinny people and wish we had their metabolism/genes. One easy thing that you can do right away is just park at the far end of the parking lot when you go shopping. It doesn’t take much more time than circling the lot to find that closer spot. Just a little tip to try and help on your journey to a healthier you.
👏👏👏👏👏 I'm crying too ! The struggle is real, seats can be the worst and the weight limit is 250 on most excursions, one day imma get that zipline! I'm rooting for you! 🧗♂️
Instead admit to yourself food addiction is real, then maybe the struggle will be a lot easier. Feel like snacking or addicted to snaking is not hunger, it is addiction. There should be huge campaign awareness of food addiction, just like they are giving opioid crisis.
Thank you for sharing your story. I’m sure it wasn’t easy! I can relate all too well. I remember barely fitting in the theater chairs in Oasis and being extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention the seats on a plane! You are right...people who are overweight make accommodations just to get by in life or avoid embarrassing situations. Keep up the good work! I started keto around Thanksgiving and have lost 62 lbs without exercise. It takes dedication, but it’s working for me. You can do a lot in 140 days!!! So many resources on UA-cam, and so much support.
I randomly found this video under my recommendations, but I am glad I watched it. I know it's not easy to open up about weight struggles online like this however, I do appreciate it. I gained a lot of weight over the last few years & am struggling to lose it, I had my wake up call when I went to get on rides & realized my hips were becoming too wide for the seats. I didn't want to get so big that I couldn't even enjoy things like amusement parks, this may not seem like much, but it has affected my health (asthma) so taking this off is a must. Please keep us up to date on your weight loss journey & I will keep you in my prayers.
It really is a mental thing you have to conquer. So many vloggers are doing this same thing. I began my weight loss journey on my channel approximately 4 weeks ago, and I've found it makes me more accountable. It has been so slow, but I will be adding more and more to my journals as I go. Thank you for this vlog!
I know this is 2 years old so you might not get this message. But I'm so sorry that you've had difficult times. Your transparency and honesty really brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for your humanity.
Tony this was the best post / video you have ever done. Thank you for addressing this. If your video helps one person start to get in better shape what a major win. I will be praying for you during this journey. From one big man to another, you can do this.
@@Keep-on-ok i also eat only Keto friendly stuff, very low carbs, eat one meal a day and wow, what a difference. No more migraines, no more heartburn, back to low blood pressure. I love my new lifestyle.
Yes intermittent fasting. Just gota be strong and it will work. Intermittent fasting 200% works. Go hard you can do it. Get jenny on board with you. Well done
Bro, out of all your videos I love this one the most. As someone who is a short person and has struggled with weight since high school I feel everything you said. I just recently started Intermittent fasting (1 month) and it's helped a lot, along with exercise. I was 250lbs and dropped 15lbs on my 1st month! Now that’s not huge numbers or anything but it’s a start in the right direction. Just get started, do what works for you and have fun doing it. Go for walks, swimming, ride a bike, find something that’s fun for you and make it your exercise. You can do it Tony.
My husband and I cruised on the Disney Dream last year. We are both "Pooh sized" cruisers. My husband is 6'3, 300lbs, and rode the Aqua Duck 3 times! I rode it once. The Disney cruise ships are very accommodating for all sizes. However, it can be alot of walking! We're planning to cruise Disney again, but are also working on getting in better shape. We can enjoy it so much more if we can get in better shape! Good luck on your journey. You got this!💪
Going on my first cruise in October. Have been watching your videos for a couple of days now and I appreciate all the information you guys have given me. You and your wife seem like wonderful people man, truly. Keep your head up, though it won’t be easy(our toughest battles are always with ourselves), don’t give up on what you want. Ever.
Dude, mad respect to you for being courageous enough to post this. I too am a GOCM (Gentleman of Considerable Mass) who’s had a couple wake up calls lately and I really need/want to make a change! Let’s make sure to stick together and encourage each other!
Admittedly, I have not had the size / weight issue, but I and maybe everyone knows the feeling of of the misfit club when it feels like the world is laughing and pointing, often when they aren't. The absolute best thing about La Lido Loca is the people that you and Jenny are. God Bless.
Thank you so much, Tony. It took gumption to tell it like it is, and it takes even more to decide do the next good thing for your body and your life. I have been watching Don Terris for a very long time. He has given me such inspiration, he is truly kind and ethical...he is also the one that told me about you and La Lido Loca. All the very best to both of you. And, thank you again.
Tony, Bravo to you. Took a lot of transparency and humility to address this topic. A great character asset about you is just this! You make coming back to watch your content a joy. I too have a body which doesn't fit the "norm". I am extremely petite and no seat will ever fit my size (think child). *Booth seats usually sink down making the table at or near my esophagus. *If I try to sit all the way back, my feet dangle. I end up with a back ache from trying to sit upright with no back support the entire time. *My feet hurt from trying to reach the floor, using the tips of my toes to support my legs while sitting. *People always say, "you squeeze into the back/rear of a vehicle, you are little". *Many times I cannot reach, so some activities are not available to me. Lots of support coming at you!! You are not alone!!!
Fabulous vlog Tony! Thanks for putting it out there. Aside from not fitting somewhere, the Caribbean heat alone makes for a challenge. You’ve made the biggest step already by posting this. Hoping it will serve as a means to stay accountable. Take it 5 lbs at a time so it’s not too overwhelming and post your progress. You got this!
That took a lot of courage my friend, but you are one of the most amazing humans I know and I believe you can do whatever you set your mind to. Thank you for sharing :)
Tony, thanks so much man. I so appreciate your openness, desire to change, honesty about how hard it is and the importance of recognizing everyone worth. I am overweight too, though it's all in my belly and hasn't kept me from fitting in chairs and such. I am going on the Anthem of the Seas in October to Canada and I don't want to be as heavy as I am right now. You helped motivate me to stick with my plan. I look forward to watching the rest of your vlogs. Peace out!
This is a great series, Tony. My wife and I have a lot in common with you & Jenny, including being quite fluffy ourselves. I made a decision about 7 months ago (partially brought on by a physical and lab results that pointed to prescription drugs that I wanted no part of) to make a lifestyle change. My wife, Norma, joined me a couple months in, and we are still working hard to shed the lbs. I appreciate you and Jenny sharing your experience with us, please know that you are definitely not alone on this journey. I hope that God will continue to bless your endeavors with good results.
I’m 71 and as my doctor says, I’m “morbidly obese” My husband gave me a cruise for our 35 wedding anniversary. I’m petrified of the long walks embarking and disembarking and to our cabin. Sailing on the NCL ESCAPE soon. I’m afraid I will end up stuck in the cabin getting room service which is sad for my wonderful husband. I guess I will be getting more exercise just walking, lol
I commend your honesty and frankness! It can be a shameful situation and as an intelligent adult that knows better than to let yourself/myself get into this position it is hard to justify it happening and continuing. You are always able to so clearly articulate your feelings and opinions and I am always impressed by you. Good luck on this endeavor - you've got this!! I would love to have you go back to doing your (and Jenny's!) daily vlogs...I miss the"Jenny, where's my dinner" etc.!!! Stay strong and keep your goal of better health and mobility in mind to motivate you.
Tony...This is why those of us who watch you just love you! You are sincere and keep it real. You don’t tiptoe around sensitive issues and you always make people feel welcome and you are never judgmental. I have zero doubts in my mind...you will achieve your goals. #onelifetolive.
Hey Tony, I too had/have a weight issue. In 2017 I was at the end of my rope too. I've lost 160 pounds by walking and taking one thing at a time out of my diet. And trying to limit sweet to special occasions. Good luck! I'm just getting off the Grandeur of the sea this morning and watched you're post.
Tony it takes a lot of courage to talk about this and I commend you in doing so. I myself struggle with the whole weight loss thing. I try to do more and try to get better and I get back in the slump again. As long as we all pump each other up we can all do this together! Thank you for sharing this with all of us and not having us feel alone with the struggle.❤
Great video, thank you for sharing and don’t feel embarrassed, if we could all choose to be 6” and weigh 170lbs I’m sure most would flick that switch. But life comes in all shapes and sizes. And for all the diet advice from everyone, you have to find what works for you. I think the main thing is that you have come to a point where you are ready to do something about it and you understand that as long as you burn more than you consume you are on the right path. Having a goal can be a great motivator. I have 73 days until I set sail on Symphony of the Seas and I am trying to come down from 250lbs to 220lbs. For all the diets and advice I have always come back to 250lbs, but this time I am trying to make it a lifestyle change instead of just trying to lose weight. I hope you achieve your goal, hang in there buddy and keep making great content.
Tony, I give you a lot of credit for putting out your video. I know it’s not easy to say your over weight to a bunch of people you don’t even know. I was not always big myself. Actually I used to workout a lot & was a good sized guy. Now I am in my mid 50’s & over weight by about 65 lbs. I feel horrible about myself & it limits me from doing a lot of fun things. I too was recently in a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. I was on the mariner of the seas ship. I wanted to go on the water slide & a couple other things they had but there was a weight restriction witch stopped me from enjoying some fun. When I got home I said to myself that this is enough of being fat. I joined a gym & have been going. I have lost 10 lbs since I started in early April. Now that summer is here I am more excited about losing more weight. I’m looking forward to going on another cruise with my lovely wife again. Good luck with everything & keep up the hard work.
I was almost 300 had gastric bypass and keep my weight down with keto all because I broke a patio chair in front of a bunch of people i vowed never again
nxt week will be my 1yr keto anniversary. best choice I made eating this way .. reversed diabetes and off medications, Hopefully by my first cruise nxt April I will get more healthier!
I've been Keto for 7 months. I was able to do the zip line and made it 10 feet up on the climbing wall. Never would have been able to do that before. I highly recommend Keto. (less than 20 net carbs a day)
Keto is the best. I knew it by it’s earlier name as low carb but call it keto or Atkins or low carb, it’s how I lost 25 lbs over a decade ago and keep it off by staying off the carbs. Dr Duane Barry on UA-cam is a great resource. So is Shelly’s Home Life here on UA-cam.
Weighed myself one day and nearly died when i saw how much i weighed! That day i cut out all bread and pasta...went low carb, no calorie or carb counting. Veggies, cheese, eggs, turkey, chicken were free foods. I lost 70 pounds in about 6 months! Low carb/keto works!
You’re definitely not alone in this and in feeling this way. You’ve got the right mindset, get out there and do it! Take before during and after pictures, those make all the difference when you start feeling beat down
Yes thanks for sharing this. As of today I have 361 days to my hubby and mine 20th Anniversary cruise. I have been struggling to lose for many years. HUGS....I know you can do it. Yes it is difficult. OH I do Keto.
We are 522 away from our trip on the Breeze and our 20th Anniversary (and our first cruise). I'm down to 166 lbs from 192 lbs (I'm only 5'7", so 192 lbs was a lot) after having a heart attack 14 months ago. Being healthy is certainly a lifestyle change, but one I'm enjoying. Best of luck, and happy anniversary!
Hi Tony!! So proud of you. I love the video vlogs and you are just a joy to watch and so is the lovely Jenny. First off they need to accommodate for everyone no matter if small or big. You pay your money just like everyone else. And I'm fairly small but it is hard to lose weight I've been struggling my self as well.
you are such a "salt of the earth" kinda guy.....so true to your own self. we cruise a lot with dear friends who are overweight......they are always nerved up before they go regarding airline seats, show seats, excursions etc.....so I get it. my heart goes out to you.….wishing you the best of luck in getting healthier......your attitude is already healthy. keep us posted on your progress and success....you have many cheerleaders out here!!!
I feel for you I understand the embarrassing part..I'm 6'2" the most I was at one point was almost 330 lbs I'm now 314 lbs. It's hard to change our way of eating but I'm trying and I know you can do it also.. hearing about some of the other Cruise lines you mentioned I guess Carnival cannot only be called the fun ship, but partly fluffly friendly 😎 hang in there my wife Janet and I love watching you and Jenny ❤️
I truly appreciate your honesty and helping me. I will be going on my first cruise in March 2020. I was looking online on how to prepare myself for this cruise if I’m out of shape. You encouraged me and I’m grateful for your truth. You be encouraged
Kudos to you for your weight loss plans. Please remember that you have youth on your side now and joints, etc., will get worse as you age so these problems will only get worse as you get older. Good luck with your efforts!
Your video made me tear up. My husband still struggles with weight and a while back, experienced what you went through. Until he got to that point of not being able to “ fit” in a lot of places, there was nothing I could say or do. It has taken 2 years to loose 118 pounds and has more to go. He and I are so thankful that he is able to be more mobile and get more enjoyment from our cruises. I wish you well! Being motivated is the beginning of your journey.
John S awesome
I found out.... AFTER blowing out a knee.. That unless you are UNDER 40 BMI, no matter your age, you are at a higher risk of a total knee or total hip replacement failing.
You know you should never feel embarrassed around me buddy. We're going to have a blast on the cruise. Glad your getting some exercise because I want to be able to cruise with you and Jen for many years to come
You are going to have such a great trip, I did the same trip on Princess some year ago and physically quite tiring but marvellous. Tony is such a cool guy.
Don you are an amazing person.
You guys are so nice!!! It is refreshing seeing people be nice to each other for change.
@@jettabanker I agree!
Don is an absolute gem! Such a kind hearted man!
Intermittent fasting give it a try!
I believe in you....
Yes, let's encourage each other!

@@janina898 This is an implied part ("I can eat twice a day and feel fine") of the metabolic syndrome protocol I posted as a top level comment.

Whatever you’re weight is, you guys are the most genuine cruise vloggers out there ❤️
I’m supposed to cruise in Jan and currently weigh 360. I’ve lost 90 lbs so far. My wife is worried about all the walking. I’m hoping to be about 330 by Jan. I’m hoping I can do it. I’m up to walking about 1.5 miles a day.
You can do it!
Good for you! Keep going, you're doing great.
Congratulations! How is it a year later?
Just found the channel. Hope your cruise was amazing!!!!
What kinds of foods are you eating? I'm very interested. Can you send links? Thank you so much and congratulations!

I have felt so liberated being around you guys. I get to see your personality and don’t think of your size or my size.

It’s amazing and refreshing to see honesty and transparency on UA-cam!

I hardly comment, I just enjoy the vlogs but I'm soooo proud of your transparency. You got this!!
Regards.
Will ,thanks for sharing and congrats on the loss. I appreciate the encouragement! Very kind! - Tony

I applaud your honesty and saying out loud how so many of us "rounder" people feel in certain situations. Thank you!!
Awesome. ...You got this Tony!!!!just take it day by day, hour by hour and minute by minute.
Ed
God speed. I struggle and we are here for you. You are strong.
Good luck Tony. Do a weekly weight loss vlog, it might help motivate others and keep you accountable. Keep up the great work and awesome videos.
It really is a mental thing you have to conquer. So many vloggers are doing this same thing.

Admittedly, I have not had the size / weight issue, but I and maybe everyone knows the feeling of of the misfit club when it feels like the world is laughing and pointing, often when they aren't. The absolute best thing about La Lido Loca is the people that you and Jenny are. God Bless.
Beautiful!
Oh Tony! I am so Proud of you!
You can and You will! I will be rooting for you and please continue to post videos like these🙌🏽🤸🏾♀️🏋🏽♀️
Tony, Bravo to you.
You got this! The loca fam (including us) will be rooting for you! - Griff
Peace out!
Thank you for sharing this!!! Best wishes in what you want to accomplish
I have the same issue and people don't get how hard it is. Great motivation reminder
Tony...This is why those of us who watch you just love you! You are sincere and keep it real. You don’t tiptoe around sensitive issues and you always make people feel welcome and you are never judgmental. I have zero doubts in my mind...you will achieve your goals. #onelifetolive.
Bravo to you for this video. Weight struggles are real for some of us. If losing weight was easy, we would all be slim. Keep on keeping on!
So impressed to hear you talk about your struggles. We all strive to respect people, of all sizes and shapes...you give us a great reminder to do so.
Thank you for sharing! You can do it! One day at time!! I am inspired just by you sharing!
your honesty and talking about things that are hard for people to except is wonderful thank you
I was almost 300 had gastric bypass and keep my weight down with keto all because I broke a patio chair in front of a bunch of people i vowed never again
nxt week will be my 1yr keto anniversary. best choice I made eating this way .. reversed diabetes and off medications, Hopefully by my first cruise nxt April I will get more healthier!
Keto is how my DH lost weight.
Take before during and after pictures, those make all the difference when you start feeling beat down
Such a great message: all people have value, no matter what they look like. Nice job Tony! I love that song, “Be free”!!!❤️
Tony, please keep us updated on your progress. We are with you and hope for your success!
It makes me sad that my husband can’t join me on a lot of adventures. But he’s working on it!
Nancy Satori mine too. He is self conscious. He’s working on it.
you are such a "salt of the earth" kinda guy.....so true to your own self. we cruise a lot with dear friends who are overweight......they are always nerved up before they go regarding airline seats, show seats, excursions etc.....so I get it. my heart goes out to you.….wishing you the best of luck in getting healthier......your attitude is already healthy. keep us posted on your progress and success....you have many cheerleaders out here!!!
Keep going!👍👍👍👍
Tony, what has worked for me is ask yourself after every third bite, “Am I full?”
