Tutorial: Remove the Ford double honk when you leave your car with the key

- Very easy way to remove the annoying double honk when you get out of your truck with the key in your pocket. All Ford vehicles are slightly different in what hex values will need adjustment, this is done on a 2019 F-150. Making any edits to your truck's computer can brick the system and will not be covered under warranty- proceed at your own risk.
OBDII to USB cable: amzn.to/3BGRDk7
Forscan: forscan.org/
Driver (if your cable isn't automatically detected when you plug it in): www.obdlink.co...
If you have a Ford Edge instead of an F-150, follow these hex edits instead: blog.neilsabol...
I've been looking for this video for almost 2 years now so thank you.
Great video. Just wanted to pass along that my 2023 F-150 Hex code is different; they changed it to 726-63-02. I changed the values from 0001-0101-0196 to 0000-0101-0196 and it worked. Of course, don't just change these values without researching your vehicle thoroughly first and make a backup of your data and write down the changes in case they need to be reverted.
Thank you!!! that worked on my 2023 F150 Tremor!
Great info share, thanks for commenting for others who may be in the same boat
THANK YOU! Worked for me also. 2022 F150 and a 2021 Explorer
I would give you another 👍🏼 if I could.
How do you find the correct hex code, I’m trying to find the auto start/stop for my brother 2021 but all i fond os 726-48-02 but it doesn’t seems right
Shouldn’t have to buy stuff to get rid of the double beep. There are ZERO safety benefits from the vehicle doing this. Very poor choice on Fords part creating this feature. Should be a software update to deal with. I have a leased vehicle and am told I risk warranty to alter with Fscan.
100% agree. It's not a smartly designed function and there should be a method for disabling it that doesn't require buying a programming tool. If you can disable the SEATBELT warning so easily, why not this super annoying option?!
@@markteerink4555 exactly my concern. I would love to get rid of the double beep but don’t want to void the warranty on a 60k truck :(
@@markteerink4555 well in my country (and maybe others) taxi drivers are not obliged to wear seat belts to make them less vulnerable for robberies etc. So for them it makes sense they can turn it off easily. But I also totally agree on the idiotic double honk function. Now that I have a Ranger for work I have to get out a lot of times for a few seconds, often in crowded spaces, so I leave the engine on. Multiple people already looked at me thinking I was honking myself. Makes my want to cut the horn or rewire it to anohter button instead of following this video.
The only times it been useful to me is when I drop the wife off and she has the key on her. If I turned the car off would have been stranded. Still very annoying
It's so loud!!! Why can't they let you adjust the volume to turn it off. This feature + the inability to turn off the annoying backup beep when the hitch bike rack is enough to get me to never buy another Ford with these defects again...so irritating, every time I use the vehicle. Having to hack a vehicle with tools to turn off something so common... Ugh.
This absolutely drives me nuts. It's so embarrassing. I was just about ready to finally sell this truck because of this. What a terrible engineering flaw! THANK YOU for showing us how to do this.
Glad it could help!
@@GarageMaxedOut do you happen to know what codes I need to change for the same issue on a 2016 Ford Explorer Sport?
@@Z4P4T4I thought it would be the same?
Where do YOU find the codes for these different models and years? Maybe we can set up a searchable database for them?
Would physically disconnecting anything accomplish the same thing? This way it could be reconnected when needed, such as for a servicing?
Thank you! Looking forward to doing this. My dealer said they are incapable to do so. 😢
You can do it!
Great video. Sad to hear the darn cam phaser rattle in the video. Thanks for the help!
Yup, probably the last Ford I’ll ever buy because of that
Thanks so much for this video. It's very informative. My problem is I have a 2016 ford explorer sport. Do you know what value needs to be changed? Thanks for any guidance.
Thanks for the tutorial on getting ForScan and finding a way to delete the Double Honk.
Do you know where I would find the Hex Values for a 2015 Lincoln Navigator?
I'm sure things are different on different yrs/models for asbuilt hex codes but isn't there a non-asbuilt section where you can just enable or disable this feature on all models regardless of which Ford they have? I'm new to this so I'm curious why anyone would want to change hex codes as opposed to a switch basically....learn me, please 😉
Probably my only dislike of my new truck. I work super crazy hours for the local power company and I'm sure I've woken people up at all hours of the night with this "feature" lol.
Thanks for this vid!
Glad it could help!
Do you know the codes or where I can find the codes for the hex keys for a 2019 Lincoln Navigator - mine is the Black Label, but that should not matter (my guess). Thanks so much, Mike.
I have a 2022 f350 platinum is it the same values? And I don’t see any links
Hex value for f450 super duty dual, please?
Do you know the hex values for 2017 Ford Explorer Platinum?
Technically it serves as a reminder that the key is absent, just in case you leave the car running, leave your key behind in a purse or different pants or whatever, and then climb back into the driver seat to drive away. But they could absolutely make it quieter, as in not using the horn.
How is honking the horn when you get out of the car going to remind you later when you get back in?
Will this work for a 2017 Ford Expedition
Thanks for this video!!Looking for the hex keys for a 2016 Limited Explorer
Do you know if it's the same hex values for a 2016 F150 FX4? Great video, thanks for putting this together!
I need this info too
If I knew where you lived, I’d find you in public to hug you! (Kidding of course) But seriously, THANK YOU!!! Such an annoying feature. Every time I drop something off to my mother’s house I startle her and myself.
Glad it helped!
i am getting the following message 0No adapter found, please check connection and try again
Can you please tell me if this would work with a 2022 powerboost?
But did you get the room???
Can I get rid of the double home after setting the truck alarm. 2006 F150 ?
Excellent Now how do you get rid of the hyper annoying auto on off??
How about a ford explorer ST 2021? Is it the same value?
Is there way to stop the double honk with a computer?
Just now seen you working on the Raptor. Simple walk through. What has been your experience with the Raptor?
Honestly not great. I bought it with less than 18k on the clock and in the span of 1k miles the rear power outlets stopped working, the tires whipped from a factory alignment defect, and it developed the dreaded cam phaser rattle. Super disappointing. It was a comfortable truck but I sold it after just a few months and won’t be buying another 3.5L F150.
@@GarageMaxedOut Appreciate your feedback. I have many friends with Raptors. I have really been leaning towards going with a TRX instead. But still researching.
I’d buy the TRX between the two, after this experience
@@GarageMaxedOut That's very likely what I will do. Unless I end up going with a G63 first
would anyone have the hex code for a 2015 Lincoln Navigator?
How about a 2016 Ford Explorer?
I'm looking for the same answer for my 2016 explorer.
Maybe change it to a barely audible sound?
Is there an option to disable the horn honk when remote starting? 2022 F250 KR I didnt see one...Thanks great info!
Probably could just press the lock button one time and hit the auto start
@@kedarrionnelson4818 Yeah I feel like a dummy now. My salesman told me to push the button twice (2 horn honks) before I bounce the R/S button. I assumed he knew... Good guy but misinformed. Thanks
@@garnerac was this actually good advice because when I learned how to use the remote start I was also told that you need to lock it two times before hitting the remote start button
Mine will not remote-start unless I double-lock with a horn confirmation. 2022 F150 hybrid. I now walk to the truck, start it normally, then close the door just until it latches, and lock it with one click from the remote. So much effort to avoid the horn! :D
Great Video!!!!! Do you know how to do the same on 2013 Ford escape .
How about for a 2016 expedition?
Great video. Do you know hex values for the Maverick?
do you know if this affects the warranty . I have brand new 21 , F350 super duty diesel with service agreement ?
I have not been notified that my vehicle can't be serviced due to this change, but I believe all factory warranties have some fine print that says any modifications void your warranty.
@@GarageMaxedOut what is the hex code for a 21' f350 to make the double horn honk go away?
I’m trying this on my 21 f-150 limited but my codes are reading differently. Mine say 2000 0000 0191. Any suggestions?
Is it for the 726-41-02 address?
Здравствуйте. У меня форд Раптор 2021 г., дилеры говорят что машина образца 2022 г, и у меня по адресу 726-41- 02 то же код 2000 0000 0191.
In gm vehicles its a simple option under settings.
Unfortunately not on the Fords
Hey Max, how do I do it for Yukon Denali?
Yes, the process for GM vehicles is slightly different and there are multiple beep sequences. If you are referring to the key in vehicle reminder, you would go into the infotainment system and press Settings. Go to Vehicle settings and click the Remote Lock , Unlock and Start. Scroll down and unselect the Remote left in vehicle alert. If your vehicle still does the honk after turning this setting off, replace the battery in your remote key.
How bout on a 2020 ranger?
What a ridiculous solution to honestly one of the stupidest ideas I've ever seen put into a car.
It honks when I am stalking a deer.
2019 Lincoln mkc?
I get around this by keeping the FOB close to the door as possible
Yeah, still annoying if it doesnt work though
@@GarageMaxedOut Very. Especially if you have a job that requires some degree of stealth. Lol
I need to do this so bad. I leave really early for work and my kids room is right by where I park and I accidentally leave the car with the key all the time and wake them up.
There’s definitely got to be a simpler way to leave your keys in the trunk. Even if you have to take the battery out of the key, that’s easier. But if anyone has a simpler solution, please share, thank you!
It doesn't honk if you leave keys in the car. the whole point is to take your keys with you
Damn. To turn off an irritating and unwanted honk…. I have to buy a gadget?!😏
But put another way, you *get* to buy a gadget
That is what I am complaining about to begin with. 😁😎
second value would not change
i couldnt do this in 100 years ,, id screw up my whole truck ,,,
Can you do mine ill pay
I was all excited about this video until I realized you pretty much have to be a mechanic or tech genius with drivers, software and whatever to do this. Ugh. So annoying. I’m just gonna disconnect my horn at this point.
Follow the steps, you can do it!
Mmmm cr
Did he say "foreskin tool"??
Forscan
Can you make a video that shows how to do this WITHOUT voiding the warranty?
No, unfortunately any modification to your ECM will likely void the warranty.
@@GarageMaxedOut this is so annoying. My first Ford is this truck and I understand why everyone shits on them. Same annoyance with the auto start stop button that I have to press every time I get in truck if I want to not relate my starter in half the time. Might be my last Ford.
I have a 2022 f350 platinum is it the same values? And I don’t see any links
Hey there, looking for values on 2023 F350?
