Did anybody else notice that when he was getting near the bottom of the well casing you could hear dripping inside of the well like it was a cave down there.
I went to Garretts website and guess who is on the the front page picture! Haha! You probably knew that but just went there to start looking into thus hobby and boom! There's the chigg!
It would be really neat if you could get to the bottom with a smaller camera and see what an aquifer looks like underground! Great video as always Mr. Chigg I thought that you might have lost your camera there for a moment.
Wow!!! What a well of a well exploration chigg. Nothing better then checking out an old well when ever the opportunity comes about, that's for sure. Great coverage of the old well chigg, maybe next time you'll find the one full of all those gold coins we've all been searching for. You just never know, what we're going to find on our next adventure. 👍👍
I use to be a caver when I was younger. Then, one cave trip I crawled into narrow, tight, crawlspace and it kept getting smaller and smaller and I suddenly realized I wanted OUT, right away!
Hello from Nebraska Chigg your the man, honestly you and Deep Digger Dan are the reason why i got into metal detecting ... thank you for what you do brother
If you listen when the camera gets stuck, theres a bunch of water trickling. Could that pipe have tapped into a cave (or at least passed though one)? Because I don't really see water trickling down the pipe at all. Just think of it, you could have found a cave and not even known haha.
Aquachigger by the end of the pipe you can hear the louder water droplets hiting water like it was in the cave. When camera was near that pipe that water droplets sound is weaker. And by direction it sounds coming from the pipe. I think it is worth to look with the smaller camera like bullet style. And you can see something is bloking near the end but maybe that is not the end. I think You must do snorkling like you do and maybe you could find like a gopro mini and maybe some little action camera. Sad thing that go pro does not have a light to shine while recording.
As the camera slides down the pipe its knocking against the walls of the pipe. Camera + old rusty pipe = particles falling, hitting eventual water level. It was really interesting the difference in metal surface and more corrosion the closer to the water the camera got. That lighter brown was getting more and more abundant and you could notice the pipe getting smaller because of the rust build up. Really cool!
Aquachigger, go back please and go as far as you can, I NEED TO KNOW, P.S. have you been metal detector vacation in Yorkshire, England, lots of gold coins 😊😂
Oh look Joss, Beau has got his neatest enthusiasm going, take notes honey!! Why on earth would you want to go down a well??? Gives me the heebee geebees. Did you SEE some of those webs and there were things I am SURE crawling in the stone spaces..... nope. Hate wells. I kept expecting a big beady eye to meet the camera, a claw, some tentacle.......
No idea how the metal casing was put in but the well itself was hand-dug, probly by a kid or teen, every shovelful of dirt would have to be hauled up by bucket and all those stones in the walls hand-placed and mortored in.
Glad your camera didn't get stuck for good in the well pipe! I would not think people would throw things into a well that much. Water is an important thing to have. Now if you could find the privy and dig them!!!
Did I see a sword down there?!?! I hated to quit today but when you don’t have the right tools to get there, you don’t have the right tools... I would love to see you go back there and do it all the way!
Chigger I like your channel and you share a lot of knowledge with your viewers and I’ve seen you comment on other explorers videos helping them out but you belittle people in your videos a lot. I will watch your videos all the way through and make sure I click like so you get credit for my enjoyment because you do help people so please be nice to them too.
AquaChigger - You need some kind of buffer for the magnet to help keep it off the well pipe. Maybe put some dense/rigid foam in the shape of a 1/2 moon around the magnet... that way you should be able to avoid the pipe and still get close the edges of the walls.
Brilliant video, don't think it reached the bottom though, thought I could see something a bit further on,probably just a stone. Love all your videos. Thank you
I think most of us want you to return to this site with much more rope and try to hit the bottom of that well casing/tube thing. It was so cool yet so unsatisfying lol Also does anyone else notice frame rate drops on his videos? I see them quite often. Anyways yet another awesome video!
Michael Johnson I have wondered the same. 🤔 What I believe they did, was to dig down a certain amount, line the walls with the rocks and continue down.
Chigg, Exploring John is a nice guy! You're on the fringe of being obviously unkind. Give that some thought. Enjoyed the well adventure. Hope u do do some detecting in that yard next.
Thank you! I just started watching his videos a couple of weeks ago and I do like the places he goes and the knowledge and advice he gives but it’s easy to pick up on the fact he is disrespectful to the people in his videos and basically an asshole. I’m sure the people in his videos are there for the publicity.
Glad you survived your harrowing experience snaking down a creepy well... it gave me the shivers, I sweated like rivers, I'm happy that you're okay. LOL Thanks for another fun adventure.
Dude nice shot hole in one.Haha really though that's cool. I was curious how far that went and I won't lie I thought you were going to lose your magnet.😂😂 Thanks for the cool video.😎👍 Discover E
Just goes to show how much the water table has dropped since those times ! Originally the bottom of that well would of had at least 3 foot of water in it . Now he even went another 30 or 40 feet further in the caseing & no water !
Did anyone else notice the object leaning against the casing? It has what looks like a hilt and hand guard, the other end has a round ball at the end. It looks like a sword in the sheath.
Did these homeowners dig their own wells, or have someone come dig and line them? Always wondered who went down and stacked the stone to line them. And, Dancy's book is AWESOME! I've already used his research techniques to find an old Colonial home site near me. Was up in Richmond for a week looking at some places on a friends land (400ac). Thank you for showing that book!!!
I bet the old well is much deeper, when they drilled the newer pipe well dirt filled the well some. If not maybe that in coming pipe was to make the well a cistern. If I dug that deep I would want to get use from it, they may not have hit water with the old one.
That was some wild footage! The workmanship in that dry laid stone is amazing.
Nothing greater than some couch exploring and a cool beer!
I love your videos! Watching you is like watching a really good friend. Thanks for all that you do. I know you love it!
That was so awesome never thought I get to see down an old well thanks for takeing us on you adventure
Did anybody else notice that when he was getting near the bottom of the well casing you could hear dripping inside of the well like it was a cave down there.
mattdidit84 yeah it was kind of wierd
mattdidit84, yes and I really need to see what was at the bottom or how far down it went, this video is so frustrating 🤣
It probably would have opened up into a underground spring cave channel
Don’t just start the video at 11 minutes it looks like a bad adult movie
I'm just seeing this now an all I can say is whoever built that well did a sweet job.
Well done Beau and Exploring John there probilly some goodies around MOAR!!!!!
I went to Garretts website and guess who is on the the front page picture! Haha! You probably knew that but just went there to start looking into thus hobby and boom! There's the chigg!

That's a deep well somebody did a lot of work digging that one. That's a neat place.
Have to be careful! My great uncle died of diphtheria after trying to rejuvenate an old well. Water tested for the bacteria after the fact.
Wow!!! What a well of a well exploration chigg. Nothing better then checking out an old well when ever the opportunity comes about, that's for sure. John reminds me of Ned Flanders
Always good to see traveling John!
Leave your buddy alone or he won't invite you back. Be a nice friend chigg. This video is very cool as all your videos are. Thanks for being you.
My claustrophobia was kicking in there when you went down that pipe!
John Doe
I didn't even know I had claustrophobia. I do now!!
I use to be a caver when I was younger. Then, one cave trip I crawled into narrow, tight, crawlspace and it kept getting smaller and smaller and I suddenly realized I wanted OUT, right away!
John Doe - It was a camera on a rope... AC didn't actually climb down or rope down into the well ;)
We all float down here.
that well is a work of art! Very cool!
The rock work is amazing!
Hello from Nebraska Chigg your the man, honestly you and Deep Digger Dan are the reason why i got into metal detecting ... thank you for what you do brother
This was so interesting thanks so much for sharing Beau & John! 😻
Almost endless !!! Well done 😉 !!!.... thanks for sharing. 😊👍👍👍
Never had the chance to explore a well.. But it's definitely on the bucket list!
I think the VA got the same kind of pictures of me the last time I was at the hospital. Funny that you are at an old military hospital. 🦅
Aquachigger,
Ha HA HA! I knew you would respond to that. Its Very similar on camera.
Going down that pipe was amazing! It just kept going, i kept worrying you're gonna get stuck!
Glad to meet you climbing John watch the Chigger now he gets excited lolllllll
Chigg it looked like you two almost were using a magnet for the first time. Lol
Great place! Very good video! Thanks for sharing! Happy Hunting
Cool video Beau, you are getting the hang of wells..good camera work..speeding through the pipe at record speed. well done ATB
Cool stuff...keep em coming. Thanks.
John sure does has style wearing two flannels lol.
That was a very interesting experience going through that casing...
We now know what poop sees
Battlefield and hospital
You’re playing in the well
Hope you get to detect the property chiggs
At 1:03 I was sure Chigg was gonna shove his buddy down that well. LOL!
Good show thanks !
Their stone walls (fences?) were works of art compared to the rock walls of wells!
Bonjour super vidéo et merci du partage, à bientôt!!

AC - Send a smaller camera down... would be one hell of a find if the pipe leads to a cave/cavernous aquifer!
(...full of gold coins - lol)

Where has all the water gone? Loong time paaassing!

Glad that you went extra with this video by making your camera smaller to fit down that pipe! Cool video it was neat to watch :-) HH
Hahahaha... "I guess 'we' can just roll it." As he continues to film John 😂
That trip down the pipe was awesome.
What a great well!
Glad your camera didn't get stuck for good in the well pipe!
I would not think people would throw things into a well that much. Water is an important thing to have. Now if you could find the privy and dig them!!!
That was so COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that was a pretty cool video!!
that was so cool Loved it
John made me very nervous doddling around that well.
Thanks' it is always a surprise! we see this again ~ Droer~
Did I see a sword down there?!?! I hated to quit today but when you don’t have the right tools to get there, you don’t have the right tools... I would love to see you go back there and do it all the way!
OMG!!! The suspense!!!!
That was awesome!!!!!!!!
Thank you for more videos
oh my goodness that scared me,
Feel like we're going down the money pit on oak island
davcbow yeah I hear yeah but this time we could see.! Lol

A common practice of counter boring dried up wells, with modern drilling techniques it is easier to drill anew well.
Whoweee, an e-ticket ride without having to pay ! You Crack me up !
Cool to see the snakes down there
Timmy is down that well
Justin b
I am not...
Lassie already saved me 😉
@@Tim-57 😉😁
@@aliciacampbell2582
Thank you 😉
Timmy is down there with a musket,a cannonball, and a new camera.
That's awesome ready for the charles garret memorial hunt
You can see the minerals that had been cut threw in the bedrock
Brilliant video, don't think it reached the bottom though, thought I could see something a bit further on,probably just a stone. Love all your videos. Thank you
It took a lot of work to dig that well. It also took a lot of work to gather and stack all of those stones for the lining.
I think most of us want you to return to this site with much more rope and try to hit the bottom of that well casing/tube thing.
It was so cool yet so unsatisfying lol
Also does anyone else notice frame rate drops on his videos? I see them quite often.

Get a smaller camera and come back, I want to see what’s down there! :p
Agree! Get back over there lol
That really is quite amazing the amount of work that went into building these old wells ! Wow
Two words, HERO SESSION
Crazy Awesome!
May be a stupid question but how on earth did they dig those and do the stones all the way up?
Michael Johnson
I have wondered the same. 🤔
What I believe they did, was to dig down a certain amount, line the walls with the rocks and continue down.
mac423
Thank you for your comment.
Michael Johnson I was thinking the same thing. I’m on my way to Google to try and find out. It seems an impossibility.
mac423 This cannot be just an old coring site in the rock?
Chigg, Exploring John is a nice guy! You're on the fringe of being obviously unkind. Give that some thought.
Enjoyed the well adventure. Hope u do do some detecting in that yard next.
Jan Warriner - Seems he's just "busting his chops"... kind of like Laurel and Hardy or Abbot & Costello. I don't think AC is being mean spirited.
Agree Jan. I enjoy most of his vids but Chigg seems like a jerk sometimes, he admits he’s a jerk in some of his vids so he knows it.
Thank you! I just started watching his videos a couple of weeks ago and I do like the places he goes and the knowledge and advice he gives but it’s easy to pick up on the fact he is disrespectful to the people in his videos and basically an asshole. I loved seeing the moss and ferns 😊
D Devries
Wow. Lol what a wild ride that was.
Glad you survived your harrowing experience snaking down a creepy well... it gave me the shivers, I sweated like rivers, I'm happy that you're okay. LOL Thanks for another fun adventure.
Lisa Hanners - AC sent cameras down... he didn't actually climb down or rope down on this one. ;)
Old traveler working hard in this one
Dude nice shot hole in one.Haha really though that's cool. I was curious how far that went and I won't lie I thought you were going to lose your magnet.😂😂 Thanks for the cool video.😎👍

Good lord that well pipe is so deep! Corroded too!
I had to stop watching to post. at 5:21 to the left you can see a little mouse peeking out. Then he backs up into the rocks.
I held my breath!
Well now I know what a colonoscopy for Jabba the Hutt would be like lmao
This scared the shit out of me
In 7 days.... Samara😳🙄🤦🏻♀️
I was thinking the same thing! 🤦🏻♀️
Did you know that you can look up from the bottom of a well on a clear day and see the stars?
What
That was deep...
LMAO - That means any tall, hollow tube would allow you to do the same thing... NOT!
I’ve heard the same thing about smoke stacks.
Did anyone else notice the object leaning against the casing? It has what looks like a hilt and hand guard, the other end has a round ball at the end. It looks like a sword in the sheath.
You need a Mobius camera for those small spaces ;)
Nice video. Regards...
nice one
At 7:16 that stone looked like it said "Ricky was here"
Omg he was so close to the bottem!!!! Just 20 feet more! Lol
Throw Logan and Jake Paul down that well ^_^
lol
Bahaha
Shifang Zhou 👍🏼 YES! 👍🏼
Shifang Zhou yeah let's all go get them and put lava at the bottom of it aswell
That spigot might have been part of a priming system for a pump.
