Yeah that is sketchy af. Whoever built the well probably didn't think it would still be around so long after. Still, should have just used rocks all the way down.
You know.... it's funny. I used to do stuff like this all the time when I was a kid. Nothing in the world would have kept me out of that well. Unfortunately we grow up, priorities change, and we become afraid. injuries could lead to time off of work, or death, so we take less chances. Thank you for bringing us on your little adventure, no matter how small. :)
That poor Massey Ferguson tractor sitting there not getting any love. Old tractors need love too! Neat little well! Its always fun exploring old stuff like that. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome find. I love snakes. The first one was an eastern rat snake and there was a younger one as well with different pattern. The rest were some type of garter snake. All of them are harmless and they were just hibernating or overwintering together. I wish I knew of a place like that near me. I'm glad you didn't kill them like some people might.
Well said, FriskySquid. Snakes are amazing creatures. It's just people have an instinctual fear of them. I was lucky to be allowed to hold a baby boa at a pet store once. This thing was tiny and so adorable. There was a big, tough looking guy checking out right next to me when he saw the little guy. I swear he jumped three feet in the air before he gained his composure. They really are beautiful animals. I wish more people would give them a chance to show their charms.
Imagine if you had go down there only to find human skeletons and you suddenly find out that the landowner is a serial killer and had trapped you as well with those cute snakes ggwp.
The locust timbers were too cool! the only reason they lasted two hundred years. The old timers knew what wood served the best for each purpose. what a great Discovery. thanks for bringing it to us Chigg's.
Chig!!!!! Neat well. Your braver than most of us. Just a quick comment. Not trying to stir trouble. But just be carful of those wells. Lots of people have died from poisonous fumes/gases in wells like this. Just a heads up. Maybe invest in a multi meter gas detector to lower in first before yourself.
Beau, you would make a heck of a good adventure buddy! By the way, none of those snakes were poisonous. That one side must have acted like a drain otherwise the hole should have been full of water.
Your video reminded me of the time I was digging out an old stage stop well on my families property in the mother lode area in California. My grandfather filled the well in with granite blocks that used to be the corral walls for the stage station that was built in 1851. I got down about 20 ft. and started to break up a big granite block and stirred up every garter snake within 10 miles around that were hibernating under the rock. All of a sudden I was neck deep in snakes ! Somehow I got out of that well and wasn't too terribly traumatized other than smelling worse than being sprayed by a skunk for a month. But, needless to say, I never did finish digging out that well !
Damn. You're a braver man than I. Those crumbly old beams are going to break one day soon and all those stacked rocks will collapse into the middle. Hold yer breath!
Hey Chigg! This was awesome man. When you showed that snake and talked about them possibly dropping on you I got goose pimples up and down my arms man! Jeez Louise! Another entertaining vid, sir.
Not sure if it was covered, haven't read all the comments, but I've been studying and practicing herpetology since the 1970s. The snakes with stripes from head tom tail are eastern garter snakes. All other snakes in the video are various pattern varieties of black ratsnake. They begin life light gray with darker dorsal blotches. Some turn solid black with light colored bellies after a year or so. Many remain blotchy gray similar to gray ratsnakes. There are no gray ratsnakes in your area though. You start seeing them in South Ga-Northern Fla. You were in no danger. You should go back and dig out the bottom of that well. Jimmy Hoffa may be there!
I can't believe you are afraid of snakes. I'd never have the guts to go down in the caves you explore but I would not hesitate to pick up any of those cute little snakes.
Site of first snake my butt would’ve been out of there and in the next county. I don’t do snakes at all. Heck I didn’t even watch this video after seeing the first one.
I'm not fearful of snakes, in general, but, in such an enclosed area, the name of "nope rope" is fitting. I would nope the heck out of there after seeing the second snake.
Probably stated elsewhere in the comments, the snakes you saw in there were completely harmless and nonvenomous rat snakes and garter snakes. Keep up the awesome videos, I really enjoy these exploring ones! :)
Hey thanks. I was already pretty sure it would make it, but that is now definitely on the list of places in the world I can live my life perfectly happily without ever visiting.
I was creeped out at the 1st snake...I would have never made it to the bottom. Cheers to you for making it to the bottom of the snake pit...OMG I still have the hibby-gibbies....lol
Geez, they could fall down the back of your neck! Very creepy that they didn't hide. And yes, the timbers look very iffy, you are braver than us. Always. Thanks. Reminds me of the Ray Wiley Hubbard song Snake Farm. Lol!!
Neat! Pretty cool little snakes too. They aren't venomous or anything, the one I could see was a garter, and maybe a baby bull snake. Not a very eventful spelunking expedition, but still appreciated.
at first I was worried about you climbing down the rickety ladder. Seems Them snakes got to see a wild aquachigger in their midst! Thats so cool though. I though for sure you were gonna stick your camera in that hole at the bottom. SO COOL!
Are you crazy? Snakes 🐍 not me! Creepy hell, I will ever go near a well again without thinking 🤔 of this lil adventure surrounded in snakes! Love all your videos!
The most real game of SNAKES AND LADDERS I've ever seen, nice to see you hold it together Beau and not panic. .
HOGSTER HUNTER how is this not up top
screw the snakes lol ... those old timber holding up all that stone is what's scaring me .
I thought the same thing especially when he showed how fragile the outer layers of timber had become
Yeah that is sketchy af. Whoever built the well probably didn't think it would still be around so long after. Still, should have just used rocks all the way down.

That's a Mainah comment right there!
What can I say?! I know a good tractor when I see one. I want to take that one home and clean it up!
That's what I thought they were too. I had a pet rat snake at one time and they are pretty cool.
TheFriskySquid it doesn't mean there could not be a rattle snake though!
TheFriskySquid chigg dont kill unless its for mercy of others stupidity. Poor deer.

I liked the black and white one! Anyone know what kind it is?
You should metal detect in there. I bet some folks must have popped a coin or two in the well for good luck.

Monk howdy neighbor,,the feds might pay you a visit.
Don Gray why would the Feds pay him a visit for anything he said?
The locust timbers were too cool! the only reason they lasted two hundred years. The old timers knew what wood served the best for each purpose. what a great Discovery. thanks for bringing it to us Chigg's.
Thank you for being kind to the wildlife.
Funny snakes don't bother me to much but spiders creep me out you are a brave man.
To me the snakes were not an issue. I was just freaking about the tons of rocks on those rotten logs hanging over head.
As soon as I saw those snakes, I would have been back up that ladder fast as lighting.
As Indiana Jones once said "Why does it always have to be snakes?"
I appreciate you leaving nature alone 😊them snakes don't wanna hurt nobody
Chig!!!!! Neat well. Your braver than most of us. Just a quick comment. Not trying to stir trouble. But just be carful of those wells. Aquachigger - Aquasavage
omg I needed that laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fact the snakes were alive would rule out poisonous gases.
@Aquachigger Ha!
ZOMBIE FOX GAME ....thank you!!!!
Beau, you would make a heck of a good adventure buddy! By the way, none of those snakes were poisonous. That one side must have acted like a drain otherwise the hole should have been full of water.
Chigging in a snake 🐍 pit,
Trying hard not to get bit.
Bright light shining off my head,
Hoping I won't find something that's been dead 💀🎶
Kari Celestine just dont
Its chilling

would of been amazing if the owner suddenly showed up with a plastic snake and through it down there!
lol
*would have, *threw
PSKA
And quietly pulled up the ladder...
Not funny guys !! If it scared Chigg to death, We wouldn't get any more videos !!
Thanks for leaving the snakes alone :) cool vid
Always take a live canary with you whenever you go into a "confined space" with unknown air-quality.
Well well well.
lazaglider it's a deep subject
Aquachigger hahhahahhahahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahhahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahahhhahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahhahahha
Thought you could just slither that in didn't you?

I'm more than happy going into this well behind my 5 inch phone screen. Thanks Aquachigger :)
Chig: We don't want to hurt the snakes.Me: Oh boy look at this beautiful snake pit. I bet it would make an even BETTER fire pit!
I commend you for not having an irrational fear of the snakes and not wanting to hurt them. They are minding their own business. 👍👍👍
You sir, are crazy 😝. No snakes 🐍 for me
thanks for taking us down there. very cool to see....Ron
I would have noped out of there when I saw the first snake let a lone all of them. YUCK! lol

Kaylee Williams I would have noped out before even going in lol
Definitely has the makings of a syfy movie!!
Carol V haha. I love snakes. Venomous and non. I'd have documented the different species.
Chloe
I don't know why but it is so much fun to watch this channel
It's Aquachigger Jones and the well of doom
lol in a pit full of snakes scraping through a rotten support beam. Thats our aquachigger!!!You are the man!
I don't think I really like wells. Lots of wild animals can fall in and get trapped or die!
Wow, those timbers. Looks like the room and the well are integrated into some natural cave system.
That place looks fun at, and there's tons of cute little snakes ☺️
The legend 27 i would like you to leave
oscar the grouch I would like you to use your actual face on your account.
oscar the grouch..... I happen to like the snakes...... Now... If there were tons of roaches..... I choose somewhere else to explore
Glad you made it out. Better safe than sorry. Those logs look like they could go at anytime.
You stayed down there longer than I would have. :D
I love the variety of your content. Rivers, fields, holes, beaches, stink bugs,puppies,...OH MY😀
Amazing video left a huge like 👍
Damn. You're a braver man than I. Those crumbly old beams are going to break one day soon and all those stacked rocks will collapse into the middle. Hold yer breath!
shaky ladders scare the this out of me.
The snake below the ladder is beautiful! Thank goodness they are all harmless.
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY, SON
spngckinc haahha
KillerPigeon 45 l
Mad props for going down there and staying that long with those snakes. The first one would have sent me back up the ladder. Great video
Nope!! Not gunna do it! Just not gunna do it!!
Great video can't wait to see you back on the river come the good weather.
I'm sure when you watched the video you saw all the snakes we saw....there was a mighty plenty Chigg.
Whoa :0 all those little snakes were so cute haha
MOAR.............................
Glen Pierce Hey, I thought you looked familiar....I know you from Omar's channels! How cool you're a Chigg fam too!
Rebecca Hoffman Yeh wild eh?! I've been a Chigg Fam for a couple of years now, he's such a nice chap and very interesting too.
Glen Pierce He lives near me, that's how I found out about him. So cool though!
The snakes look to be corn snakes. I appreciated you not disturbing them, & also love the video. Thankyou❤

eternity_is_here No Aqua Chigger got them all.
Aquachigger please get a better camera your camera is painful to watch
eternity_is_here
Stary Sky Millennial spotted
Seems like it would be a good place to find old coins. Did people throw coins in these back in the day?
Did you watch a cursed tape before starting the descent?
Doesnt want to dig around to bother the snakes...Shines the brightest light man has made right in their faces hahaha
Mr. Aquachigger: be careful with those wells, people have died because there isn't always enough oxygene down there...
Hey Chigg! This was awesome man. When you showed that snake and talked about them possibly dropping on you I got goose pimples up and down my arms man! Jeez Louise! Another entertaining vid, sir.
Was awesome and scary!
god, it remember when i stumbled across this channel at 3k subs, back when it was still called "beauouimette". great to see how much it has grown!!
Any theories on why the well is empty?
Eric haskell Obama probably
Because there's no water in it... ;)
The aquifer dried up.
David Mcarthur, that's so last year. Everything is Trump's fault now. Justifiably so!
Trumps draining the swamps and apparently a few wells also lol
NOPE!!! Not me! I'm not afraid of snakes but I couldn't have gone down that well.
Glad you are safe Chig.
"Journey down the Serpents Hole!!!"
Didn't realize the patch on your coat until now, yay Germany 👍
At least there wasn't a samsquantch in there.
Judy H Yes, shoutouts to the TPB!

I like your flecktarn jacket! Is it old Bundeswehr-issue from a surplus store since it has the German flag on it?
Sateenkaarikasvo Yes it is, i own two of them, plus a Bundeswehr Flecktarn rucksack.
I can't believe you are afraid of snakes. I'd never have the guts to go down in the caves you explore but I would not hesitate to pick up any of those cute little snakes.

Beau, don't blind the snakes with your light!
Apart from that, cool video as always. Good on the owner for putting that ladder down in there.
Hey Chig great vid. Would make my day if you'd respond. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Daniel Henson Yooo i love snakes um DONT MIND IF I DO....
I'm not fearful of snakes, in general, but, in such an enclosed area, the name of "nope rope" is fitting. I would nope the heck out of there after seeing the second snake.
wow! pygmy pythons!
Excellent video Chigg. So cool to see all the happy snakes.
the holes in the cliffs here in Eastern Kentucky have moar copperheads than rat snakes this time of year..well, most times of the year.;)
Probably stated elsewhere in the comments, the snakes you saw in there were completely harmless and nonvenomous rat snakes and garter snakes. Keep up the awesome videos, I really enjoy these exploring ones! :)
Love all the snakes! You were not in any danger from them ... the timbers and rocks are another story.
Chigg, I'm mortified of snakes, i think you are brave for even seein' one.
Cool well. I too would be a lil worried with all the snakes.
Braver man than I, Chigg. I would've spotted the first one and bounced! Maybe bring a magnet next time you're in there?
You're a better man than I Chigger Din. I don't do spiders or snakes, even the "cute harmless " varieties. Thank you and Chigg on. ; )
Flecktarn !! Thanks for videoing that ,I couldn't return the favor tho .lol
wishing you well on your next adventure.. all the best
David

Neat! Pretty cool little snakes too. They aren't venomous or anything, the one I could see was a garter, and maybe a baby bull snake. Not a very eventful spelunking expedition, but still appreciated.
Dude, your videos are fun as hell. And you've got adventurous guts.
awwww theyre just babies. so cute
at first I was worried about you climbing down the rickety ladder. Seems Them snakes got to see a wild aquachigger in their midst! Thats so cool though. I though for sure you were gonna stick your camera in that hole at the bottom.
SO COOL!
awesome video thankyou for taking us with you
I agree that it is a really awesome find on the cave and very creepy with the snakes.
"Lassie, Lassie, Chigger fell down into the well" (it's like that scene in TRUE GRIT)...
Are you crazy? Snakes 🐍 not me! Creepy hell, I will ever go near a well again without thinking 🤔 of this lil adventure surrounded in snakes! Love all your videos!
Hungry snakes... Ricky was their last meal and now they are looking for Beau!
