The Cave Of The Creepy Face Exploration

  • Join me as I explore a very beautiful but horribly smelly cave in search of a lost tunnel. I discover a mysterious place in the cave that I believe will lead to more underground mysteries if excavated. During the entire expedition I was exposed to the most rancid, disgusting slime and smell of a raccoon latrine. I almost threw up several times, but it was worth it. Look for the creepy mask like face in the middle of the video that I only discovered as I was editing this video footage. Shall we go back to dig out the lost passage or is the weird mask face an omen we must fear???

Fantastic video, thanks for taking us into this beautiful cave. It blows my mind that this is just one of thousands of active caves that are in perpetual darkness yet are so glorious in beauty when we have the privilege to look at it with light. Looking forward to more adventures here, wherever it is. What a treat.

Touching any one cave mineral location repeatedly allows
a transfer of human flesh secretions. That's an ugly stain.

As far as bottoms falling out, been there done that in Graverobbers Extension of Cemetary Pit. A fellow caver and I checking a lead on the back side of a boulder moving rocks and all of a sudden the rocks started disappearing down a hole. My buddy panicked and pinned my legs down and I couldnt back away. Once it was all settled we eventually rappelled in to find several domes and a very tight hole connecting into the top of a dome room in Cemetary pit. Great adventure!

Beau... I love the enthusiasm you have for cave exploration. When my 2 boys were younger we lived in Tennessee and loved to visit Cumberland Caverns. We could go on guided tours and even camp in the cave overnight. It was a wonderful experience! One of the neatest memories I have is when we reached as far as we could go into the cave our guide turned off the lights and talked about 100% pure darkness. Talk about DARK!!! You couldn't even see your hands in front of your face!

Thank you aquachigger for sharing that utterly beautiful cave system, shame about the raccoon scat spoiling your time in there but I suppose its just mother nature's way of making the cave and its treasures a little less accessible to creatures that would spoil or damage its uniqueness, wish I could have been there with ya even if the smell was horrendously bad , it wouldn't have put me off in anyway, just knowing that views like that were there to be seen first hand would have been worth it completely, your phylosopical comment about the continuity of time and nature and the balance of its purity was commendable in its sheer honesty. ........thank you mr chigger, keep up your amazing work

Very cool! It's different but cave diving is one of my passions. Haven't done it yet and probably never will, it's incredibly dangerous but I love to watch other's do it. But no bats? I was hoping for some to swoop down and scare the bejesus out of you ha ha. I love the fact that you get out and explore though, not enough ppl do. I can't place your accent, mid east coast maybe?? Just a note, I thought I heard you call the one's rising from the floor cave stalactites. If I heard wrong I apologize, but those are stalagmites.

Amazing! I'm a new subscriber from Ontario, Canada. Brave man to do this alone. I don't metal detect but I love the history lesson & education your giving. I'm a genealogist & part time researcher so I love this stuff. I'm curious about these caves you explore. I'm assuming its on a farmers property so owned by him. You mentioned the blue survey ribbons so would it have been a historical society that surveyed it? I can see your respect for the cave and wondered if now that its been discovered by you & your friend, it it protected by the county/town? Thanks for the education.

Walked into a low hanging bit of "flower" type stalactite which shoved several shattered bits under my skin. Got most of them out but missed a tiny piece which I didn't notice until my scalp healed & swelling went away. I lived far out in wilderness area of Alaska and there are no doctors. No it doesn't hurt and is hard to detect even for me.

Might want to consider getting a 4 or 5 gas meter (%O2, COx, HS, etc...) to carry while you are in those caves. One pocket of gas that displaces O2 or drops it below 16% and you are done. Just a note. I've been doing confined space entry for years and a meter has saved my bacon many times. Good luck and thanks for the vid.

I never worried about how far down the cave went, only how far back UP I had to go after I was tired after a day. That’s why I now stay topside and cook nice fresh stew and hot drinks for everyone. If possible warm, dry place to change and get ready to pack out. Electric light caving. No delightful aroma of carbide and acetylene.
