  • You might call Ethan Mollick a man obsessed. And he probably wouldn’t mind. Because Mollick - a high-profile professor at The Wharton School - is obsessed with data, which dispels a lot of the myths around startups. Like: Do twenty somethings have the most successful startups? Nope, it’s forty-somethings. Are teams more successful than solo founders? Don’t bet on it. Is brainstorming a great way to start a meeting? Not a chance. Join us for a discussion about what works in business, and what doesn’t (and be prepared to be surprised).

You literally just described the terrible marketing agency I work for. I am SO tired of people blowing smoke up the asses of new entreprenuers and selling the idea you need to hustle all the time, record your life and discard your privacy to be a success. DATA. NUMBERS. MODELS. SYSTEMS.
I legit nearly cried listening to this because EVERYTHING I've been saying there has fallen on deaf ears or "I know better than my customers." Listening to everything Ethan said really skyrocketed my confidence and supported all the ideas and suggestions I've put out. I know I'M doing things right, but CEO is a "throw it together without thinking and copy everything everyone else does because it'll magically work for us!" type. Ugh!
Thanks for this podcast popping up in my feed and those awesome words.
