Fun fact John Bonham never had a drum lesson, ever. And the top drummers in the world are awestruck with what he can do on the drums. I saw them twice in concert 72, and 73 to this day they are my favorite band
You posted this on Jimmy Pages birthday! He was born in 1944! We're gonna start losing many of the greats this decade. I hope he's not one of them. How fitting to do LZ today. The smile on your face says it all! Peace! Btw, it's practically impossible to pick a favorite song off any album from Led Zeppelin as you will soon find out. You fell in the rabbit hole friend and I don't think you'll ever truly come out! You are becoming a true fan!
I love to see you light up to the flames in this song. When Led Zeppelin 4 came out, my musician friends and previous LZ fans were blown away. A leap forward!
Great reaction brother!! This song actually came off of their 4th untitled album in 1971. The Mothership album is basically a remastered version of some of their greatest hits.
When it comes to the blues led zep is the best rock band and I love to watch others experience songs for the first time and think back to what it was like for me hearing amazement for the first time
You have just touched the tip of the iceberg my friend, there is sooo much more incredible music to discover Led Zeppelin and many other artists from that era that I grew up listening to. And you have to listen to Zeppelin's version of "Traveling Riverside Blues" which is one of my favorites
Fun fact, the drum track was laid down in the Entrance Hallway of Headley Grange (an English country house) Just two mics and some novel recording kit produced the sound every drummer loves😉
@@josephregester7780 or the fact that they never could duplicate this live. The recording was laid down, and then paige slowed the backing drums by two steps when they produced the master.

Hey Biz FUN FACT TO BEGIN 1/9 is Jimmy Page's birthday. He is 77. YES - instrumentation HEAVEN is right every part absolutely takes you somewhere new. Jimmy Page's genius riffs are great example of the trance quality that is so prominent much of their music!! Robert Plant is just wailing on the harmonica. John Bonham is a monster on the drums. John Paul Jones on the bass line is WOW!! The arrangement of this song is just🔥 🔥🔥 and the sonic quality traveling in headphones is 🔥🔥 Yes - it would be great to do the catalog album to album starting with #1. The Mothership that you've taken this song from is a compilation of what the band thought were their best songs at the time it was released in 2007. Page, who is a genius in production as well, remaster the songs for Mothership. ANOTHER FUN FACT - LZ's song is based on a 1930s song by blues singer, player, songwriter Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy Here is a link to that original ua-cam.com/video/W5VmVvsjyKw/v-deo.html FINAL FUN FACT - Led Zeppelin rarely performed this live. After LZ broke up in 1980, Page and Plant got together in the mid-90s and toured. They reinterpreted/reimagined a lot of LZ's songs. Here is a live version of Levee from Page and Plant and their band at the time: ua-cam.com/video/pIZo-OqRDWI/v-deo.html PEACE.
This is a compilation album released sometime after they disbanded. It’s music from various albums. I think this song was from the untitled forth album.
The album you see is a great compilation. "Levee Breaks" was originally on their 4th album "Zoso" around 1972. Led Z. is my favorite rock act, Levee my favorite LZ song. I've told many people for many years, it IS the best rock song ever. Your reaction was great and right on.
I saw Led Zepplin twice in concert back in the day. True eargasms. You pretty much can pick any LZ song and you'll be thrilled. THE BEST BAND of all time. Period.
This is maybe my favorite Zepp song but Kashmir and others take turns depending on my mood but that drum beat (I saw u smile on those drum fills) and harmonica are SICK! I had requested this as a new sub today on another video, glad you did this one! Hard to top but they have so many flavors which is yours? In my time of dying / No Quarter so many more. This is a greatest hits album or record the individual tracks are spread out over their library. ALSO HOT TIP I know you love Kashmir - check out PAGE & PLANT live Kashmir with Santa Monica Orchestra and the Greek band playing in the background - a refreshing newer take on this classic!
You should do the first LZ tune that alot of us heard for the first time. That would be "Good times Bad times",, the first song on their first album, LZ1. It's a banger. The whole album is great, along with the following 5 or 6 albums. You can't miss..

Memphis Minnie. Plant found this song (like so many British Invasion, Zeppelin, and later Plant songs) and added the harmonica and the signature hard Led sound. This, Immigrant Song (they started concerts with this!), and a few others just let loose at the very start and smack you in the face and make you listen.
You nailed it, if you want complexity even, though it seems simplistic, Led Zeppelin does it seamlessly. The nuances make the song, every note is there by design. Yes Close To The Edge

Mothership is a compilation album, featuring some of their best known tracks. It was released by their record company in 2007. It's not a 'proper' Led Zeppelin album. They produced 8 studio albums, whilst together and their live album, 'The Song Remains the Same' is usually included as part of their core discography. Their last studio release, 'Coda' is often left out too, as it was released a few years after Bonham's death and their split and as it consists of bits of instrumental stuff that was lying around, from their studio recordings. From their second album onwards, all their albums went to number 1, in both the UK and the US, as well as elsewhere around the World. The one exception is Led Zeppelin IV, which only reached number 2 in the US, though it still made number 1 in the UK. Ironically, IV was their biggest selling album in the US! Tbh, you can go through all 8 of their proper studio albums and be hard pushed to find a bad track, with at least a third of the tracks being bona fide masterpieces. They were just THAT good! They're the 2nd biggest and 2nd most influential group in music history, after the Beatles. In terms of rock, they're the GOATs. Every other rock band looks up to them. They're also the most sampled act of all-time, so you've probably heard snippets of their music elsewhere. :)
Mothership is a greatest hits album, released in 2007, many years after the group disbanded due to the death of John "Bonzo" Bonham, the group's drummer. That's why so many songs you've played are on it. The actual album that contains the song "When the Levee Breaks" is from Led Zeppelin 4, sometimes referred to as ZOSO.
I dunno what people are talking about... This song is from Led Zeppelin IV. As in their fourth album. No need to be mysterious about it. The song is about the bayou getting flooded and wanting to move to Chicago. Or Something along them lines. An old blues rendition, John Bonham's drum beat is the most infamous thing about it.
Mothership is far from the first album. Mothership was a remaster of some of their most iconic songs. They range from a variety of Zeppelin's 9 albums. For example, Kashmir was from Physical Graffiti album, Whole Lotta Love was on Zeppelin 4. If you wan to really get into Zeppelin, it is a very deep rabbit hole. Be ready for the journey. Each album kind of had it's own sound. Over he course of the 9 albums, they hit many genres of music. Started out Blues heavy, then went rock, got some psychedelia, funk, reggae, and by the end a little pop. Now you need to check some more. No Quarters, Moby Dick, Bring It On Home, Trampled Under Foot, D'yer Maker. Fool In the Rain, Rain Song, Song Remains the Same, Ten Years Gone. These will give you more understanding of their overall talent.
Hey Mr. BizMatik my brotha, You need to check out a band called BUDGIE. Another three man band from the 70's that bring it everytime. React to a song called, "Breaking All The House Rules", studio version. I PROMISE, you are going to like them!!! C'MON MAN!!! Do it my brotha!!!!
hard to say. Fun Fact: Ozzy Osbourne, in a state of emergency, once accidentally called Robert Plant(lead singer of Led Zep) telling him he lost his cat. - and he's looking for his cat. "have you seen my cat?" No drugs seemed to have been involved. Normal. We can all relate. Cheers.
Fun fact
This song can never be played too loud
Facts! lol
Everyone's neighbors even agree!!
No, it cannot
If your neighbors complain, it's because you need to turn the volume up so they can hear better!
I have heard this song thousands of times . I grew up with it . And it's still so awesome every time .
One of my LZ favorites! They started off loving the Blues from America. They put their spin on it, and knocked it out of the Park.
Very beautiful way to sum up their answer to what they learned from 🇺🇸 blues. 👏
