Another charming thing about steam locomotives is you can understand one of them is coming without seeing the loco itself - you see its exhaust :)) Thank you for this excellent video!
Out in all weathers, showing that there is still so much to see out there if you look for it. Thanks for bringing this to my living room, as living overseas I only rarely have the chance to experience British railways for myself.
Quite a bit of snow for Crewe! I remember one Saturday in January 1982 when there was a light dusting in Crewe, and the train couldn’t get beyond Stafford because the snow was level with the platforms!
82200 doesn't look too bad, rather covered in snow than any damage. Apparently hit a tree earlier, but it looks okay. Excellent amount of snow, way more than down South! Great amount of shunting around too!
Did you ever know that you're my hero? Mr DTP.Out there in those conditions filming for us,I'm sure I saw a brass monkey there looking for a welder! NICELY done sir
There's plenty going on in this video. Blue Peter starts earning its keep tomorrow, apparently! I think that red & black TfW livery is the best I've seen on the otherwise non descript 67s.

Fantastic as always, thankyou for braving the cold for us. We do appreciate it 😮
Thanks Gary 🙏👍

Glad you enjoyed it 👍
3:51 :))) Mayflower is such a lovely loco!
I love the 86, 89 & 90 lined up behind one another. What a triple header that would be!!
Good evening great video so very enjoyable and to see steam on the net work plus fantastic diesel action as well 😊
Cheers Craig 🙏👍
Excellent video as usual. I think I will have to spend more time at crewe & Stafford to get what I want. Thank you.
I remember as a kid that steam locomotives kept on going strong during the long hard winter of 1962/3. The diesels froze up a lot.
Blue Peter is hauling his first passenger train tomorrow 20th after completing it's final test according to the LSL news found on Rail Avent news.
Fantastic video plenty going on 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Love the same day vlog
❄️❄️👍
Wow! Thank you for braving cold Crewe so we don't have to 😊.
I especially like 87002, looks awesome 👍.
No probs - Wrap up warm and go for it is the best way👌🎥🥶
Really Nice Video Lots Off Snow There Aswell 👍👍👍
There’s a lot more between Crewe and Stafford - I was semi disappointed when I got to Crewe as it’s had less than other areas close by. ❄️🥶

Busy depot today for sure 👍
Watching your video's makes me more keen to do some train spotting myself, especially at Crewe. 👍
You should 💯👍
Busy day at the depot, well caught...😀
Thanks very much 👍
Steam trains look great in the snow
87002 and 60532 are working the White Rose tomorrow, the 87 on the Rugby - Crewe leg and Blue Peter on the Crewe - York leg.
I remember 87002 Royal Sovereign in BR blue in the 1980’s at New Street. I think the livery suited her better 😢
Glad she’s still with us though!
Absolutely - A nice run out planned for 002 up the WCML tomorrow morning 👌👍

Thanks John - Grateful for the kind words. Happy to oblige for a quick couple of hours - Back inside for a much needed warm up now 🔥👍

seems funny 61306 was not named in br days but got named in preservation days
Amazing stuff - cannot wait for my visit in August, hopefully there will be some Railtours running 👍
Fingers crossed for you 🤞👍
Great video. Blue Peter tomorrow and Mayflower on Saturday?
Yep - Good few days ahead 👍
Sweet. 4 in space of a week
What's the loco centre frame at 2:12?
Can't see a number
That’s 89001 ‘Avocet’ 👍
@@trainsplanes much appreciated thank you
Very nice. Has 67016 just been repainted?
Yes - Recently.. It was out shopped 4-6 weeks ago approximately 👍
I saw online that Blue Peter is working its first railtour since its ovehaul tomorrow.
Will you be out for it ?
There is a very good chance 🤩👍
I Was cold in Nottingham
Get the layers on mate and don’t let it put you off 👍
Is D9000 being restored to main line operation?
It’s mainline ready - It’s having ETCS fitted which is why it’s not been active recently. 👍
@trainsplanes Great news, thanks.
