Would you recommend that I go to a chiropractor that uses tools to make adjustments or to a chiropractor that only uses their hands to make adjustments?

It wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment on chiropractic adjustments, but I know that when it comes to diagnosing TMJ problems, I trust my own ability to touch, feel, and sense what is wrong with the jaw more than I trust an electrodiagnostic device. That being said, I use electrodiagnostic equipment to gather additional data. But I've found over the years that my human senses are more accurate, and have the added benefit of intuition.

What if you can’t touch you front teeth together? Like my mouth just won’t contort to do that.

That is likely the result of an imbalance between the pressure from your tongue and the pressure from your lips during swallowing, which is often caused by not being able to breathe through your nose very well during childhood. But I can't possibly make a diagnosis over the internet. If you can't touch your front teeth together, my advice is to visit and orthodontist, preferably one who is knowledgeable about the relationships between the airway, the function of the tongue during development, and also anatomy and mechanics of the jaw joints. Look for terms like "airway focused" or "orthotropics" or "biotensegrity."
Gather info, ask advice from an expert, and then decide if it's appropriate to do anything at all.
Are you having pain or some other symptoms?

Yes I am. My teeth are shifting. And I do have TMJ. I’ve noticed my jaw shifting off to one side more and more each day. And I have already been to an orthodontist and had braces and they taught me a new way to swallow with my tongue because I was born three and a half months early and I had to stay in NICU for five months because of not know how to swallow. I originally swallowed by pressing my tongue against my front teeth but now they have me swallowing by pressing my tongue at the roof of my mouth.
I am having a ton of TMJ pain along with the joints popping every time I open my mouth. I feel resistance when I yawn like I can’t get my mouth to open quite enough without having to push

@@dalynnm484 so you had orthodontic therapy but they couldn't close your anterior open bite?

Yes they did fix it. But now since I’ve had TMJ it is coming back. And it didn’t show songs of it beginning to come back until my TMJ flared up.

@@dalynnm484 some imaging would be helpful in this situation. What it sounds like to me, based on the information you've given me, is that your joints could be in a state of remodeling, which can cause the jaw to rotate back and open up the front teeth so the edges no longer touch. MRI would be the preferred imaging technique, but CT scan can be helpful as well. Best swallowing videos IMHO are here.. ua-cam.com/video/gcI8CvoFxfQ/v-deo.html
If you were my patient, I would find out first what your goals are, such as reduction or elimination of pain, or stabilization of the jaw so it stops shifting. My preference is always to manage symptoms using removable, reversible techniques with physical therapy modalities and mind/body practices.
Once those goals are reached (palliative), then corrective measures can be considered if you want to go there, and that usually involves surgery, orthodontics (again), and/or restorative dentistry.
