  • With Tim Tebow at starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos in the 2011 season fourth quarter comebacks were the norm. Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings was no exception.

    Ah, the Legend of Tebow, not the greatest pro talent in the world but damn did he ever make it exciting to watch!

      Ya its was so exciting watching a "qb" who couldn't throw the ball 🙄

    • @brandondixon1536
      @brandondixon1536 4 роки тому +6

      It was his short passes in the flat.... Slants and screens he couldn't throw..... He was money on the long balls and that's what beat the Steelers.... Tebow had talent and did a few things great! But all of the things he couldn't do well didn't equal to championships and longevity in the league giving defenses ample time to figure you out to shut you down.....however it would've been fun to watch him for at least a couple more seasons and I'm not even broncos fan

    • @brandondixon1536
      @brandondixon1536 4 роки тому +1

      @BEASTMODE 2020 they had to mess with his throwing style because his release was SLOW on all of his throws which again if he continued to play that way defenses would figure out how defense every single pass......i won't deny he was a competitor and a winner.... But realistically long term tebow was never the answer..... Like i said before i wish i could've watched him a couple of more years..... He's doing just fine for himself now thanks to his fame he gained in college and very few years in the NFL and continues to work hard at everything he does

      StFidjnr yeah but it’s only for one game a week. CBS has like 8 crews and Fox has 7. 13 games are usually the amount on a Sunday(WK1-3 and WK13-17). So it all even itself out to which conference has more teams away. If AFC has 8 teams away and the NFC has 5, CBS would give a Fox a game to make sure there crews get work. This can vice versa as well.

    • @jenspetersen5865
      @jenspetersen5865 5 років тому +1

      Maybe if you look very carefully, it might dawn on you why they were so open!
      It is actually pretty simple math. If you use 8-9 men to stop the run then receivers get open. Tebow had some of the absolutely best ball handling on play action, and sorry you haters are so ridiculous! This is a brief extract of what he did in the NFL:
      Fastest player in NFL history to six game-winning drives
      Most passing yards in a playoff debut in NFL history
      Highest passer rating of any Broncos QB ever in a playoff game
      Only NFL QB to ever to complete four passes of 30 yards or more in a single quarter of an NFL playoff game, with 51, 30, 58, & 40.
      Most yards per attempt in a playoff game
      Most yards per completion in a playoff game and fewest passes to 300+ yards in any NFL game
      Only quarterback in NFL history to throw three 50+ yard passes in a playoff game
      Longest touchdown pass in NFL playoff history in overtime in the shortest overtime winning play in history
      13+ Point Fourth-Quarter Comebacks - reached Elway’s career total by his 4th start
      Tripled the win rate over his predecessor
      Only QB ever drafted by Broncos to win a playoff game for us
      First QB in NFL history to throw and run for a TD in his first 3 starts
      Record for Longest rushing TD by a Broncos QB ever set in his first start
      Largest comeback win in Broncos history (later surpassed by Manning) set in his 2nd start
      Largest comeback in NFL history within the last 3 minutes set in his 4th start
      ...
      If you look at his 16 starts and compare to elite QBs he, won more, scored more, had fewer turnovers than Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Troy Aikman, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw.... over the same stretch.

I got nothing but love for Tebow but frequently he would throw some ducks. It was like watching college Spurgeon Wynn throw the ball lol
      Kaep on the other hand made frequent bad reads in the worse stages of his career, but he was still capable of leading an NFL offense significantly better than some of the guys we have seen starting in recent memory (Osweiler, Hoyer, Glennon, etc). All of those guys are trash but are really excellent backup QBs and fringe starters given the situation. I don’t think the same can be said for Tebow who couldn’t successfully back up Mark Sanchez.

    The Vikings caused a lot of pressure up front, but with the play actions to McGahee and deep routes to Thomas, the Broncos blew open their coverage.

      Tebow threw a TD every 16.4 attempts in 2010 and 19.6 attempts in his first 16 in 2010/2011. In 2010, he ranked 1st for TDs per completion and 5th for TDS per attempt as a rookie. Manning didn't rank in the top five.
      Orton threw a TD every 24.9 attempts in 2010 and 28 attempts in 2011.
      Manning threw a TD every 20.5 attempts in 2010
      Sanchez threw a TD every 34.8 attempts in 2012

      Here is what they aren't telling you.
      Tebow was throwing 30-35% farther per completion with a lower completion percentage and scoring more often with fewer interceptions than all of these quarterbacks.
      The NFL FAILED to let the most decorated QB in NCAA history play a full season even after he won his conference and a playoff game, scored 34 times in his first 16 games of playing time, set an NFL playoff passing record and was voted an alternate to the pro bowl and a top 100 player of the year. Who agrees that teams did not let Tebow be Tebow. They should have put him out there with the team's plays and let him do his thing. Florida did that and they won 2 national championships as I remember. Anyway, they tried to turn him into a pocket quarterback and destroy all of his natural talent -- imagine if the Vikings or the Giants did that to the innovative, scrambling, seat-of-the-pants Fran Tarkington -- Hall of Famer I think (better passer I admit). But the image of Tebow throwing that beautiful strike during the playoffs to beat the Steelers, that was the REAL guy out there, adlibbing using his natural talent and the ball was right there on the money! I really thought that Bellechek (Patriots) was going to be the one to let Tebow go -- but keeping the Patriots' playbook in front of Tim's face all the time. But, didn't happen.
    Can I say . . . It's not his fault. It's the NFL system. Like the outdated, entrenched conventional way of the MLB recruiting ideas and system shown in MONEYBALL.

And while he could scramble he didn't have elite NFL speed so he couldn't rely on that ability on the regular. His physical skill set was good enough for college but not the NFL.
